Kids Playing Ball. - Masie - 10-26-2018

Sometimes the noise of grown ups could be so annoying and make her ears hurt, yes, she had ears, just not overly visible ones, otherwise she wouldn't be able to hear. Anyway, at points the tiny raptor really did wish that the adult animals around would just shut up sometimes. Occasionally the only positive was that she got to learn so long as they spoke, but darn was some of what came out of their mouths annoying even if she could not understand all of the words yet. Happily one selection of animals existed within the group where the noises never became annoying, where some of them like CC rarely seemed able to sometimes be able to understand her more than the grown ups. While some of the adults only saw the giant raptor she would become within the year? At least a portion of the other children saw that she was a child the same as they were.

"Play! Play! Play!" the chitter she let out as she ran her way between the huts some members lived in near the ship was very clear and loud enough to summon the animals she wanted. Masie skidded to a stop, making another noise to make sure the summons was heard. Pressed against her chest with her two small arms? Was a a rubber ball, completely rubber all the way through. Sure most of the time she explored or otherwise used the forest as a jungle gym, in hopes she would be able to keep up with her sisters. Yet, playing with the other kids was too tempting to resist from time to time! "Play!" she chittered happily, jumping around the clearing with the ball clutched to her body, awaiting her playmates to arrive so she could 'toss' the ball at one of them.

Re: Kids Playing Ball. - beck. - 10-26-2018

Beck shared Maisie's woes of too much noise -- shut up shut up shut up shut up shut up -- although his ears were much more prominent. Comedically large triangular satellites constantly swiveling to pinpoint danger, one even baring the mark of a murdered man's blade, cartilage cleanly notched instead of the ragged tear from claws as would be expected. He deserved it. At the wicked voice snarling in his mind and bouncing off the inner walls of his skull, the boy furiously rubbed his face into the sand, trying to force the other voice out.

A familiar chittering snapped him from his groveling trance, strangely welcomed as he twisted his head to the side. Catching the predicted glimpse of Maisie, he sneezed to free the grits of sand stuck to his mutilated muzzle, although the granules lodged between exposed teeth would be a different challenge of its own. Yet his attention was elsewhere; the brightly-colored rubber ball clutched in fossilized talons drew his stare to it as the moon pulled water, and the scrawny ghost scrambled to his feet, kicking sand over the puddle of toxic drool beginning to soak the earth where his chin had been before approaching with a limp and a curious tilt of his head. While he desperately wished he could ask the young velociraptor where she found the ball, perhaps so he could visit the site himself to collect more for a hoarded collection, he refrained, knowing full well of the language barrier. But what else could holding a ball and yelling for attention mean? She wanted to play, right? Sure, why the hell not. He couldn't keep himself from abruptly breaking out in a strangled mimicry of her playful chitters, vocal chords warping to recreate it before he had satisfied the tic and shook out his grimy pelt. Beck dropped into an impish bow akin to a mutt ready to fetch whatever was thrown and even gave his stump of a tail a wag as a signal that he was willing to participate in a frivolous game. "C'mon, thr-row it or somethin'," he rasped, clicking his teeth in impatience.

Ball? That was a ball, wasn't it?  Where one found a ball, they often found the golden-furred direwolf bounding after.  An invietable course of events, given the child's energetic and playful nature.  At the sight of Maisie chirping and holding nothing other than a rubber ball.  An excited yip escaped the pup quickly and the little canine -- who one day would perhaps not be so little, just like Maisie -- came scrambling over.

A second later, she was mimicking Beck's stance, lowly crouching to the ground, her tail a rapid fan behind her in excitment.  About time someone wanted to play ball.

Re: Kids Playing Ball. - FELIKS - 10-27-2018

[align=center][div style="text-align: justify; width: 60%; font-family: georgial; font-size: 11pt;"]Incoherent chirrups awoke the gryphon slumbering in the middle of the Typhoon's living area, a singular emerald eye opening to determine what was going on. Far too used to seeing scaled beasts act no better than ferals, Maisie seemed to be a welcome change to the stereotype. Every gut instinct told him not to get his hopes up, for age would probably be a bigger deciding factor than anything nurture could offer her ('teenagers' were the worst), for now he would let the dinosaur enjoy herself though. Besides, he knew if he tried to teach her the wrong things, there was gonna be a pack of pissed off savages breathing down his neck - once he would've been bold enough to take them on, nowadays without powers it would be nothing short of suicide.

Why was he thinking so far ahead? The female only seemed to want to play, judging by the human toy she was carrying about with her. Letting out a tired grumble, Feliks chose to ignore it until he heard more commotion surrounding Masie and her find. Sighing and telling himself that if he wanted sleep he should've just retreated to his home, the Striker stood himself up, offering a playful smirk in greetings. Unlike Beck and Suvi, he didn't seem interested in playing the game, devoid of energy still, but regardless the hybrid seemed happy to socialise. "Should help build good hunting instincts if we played fetch instead," he teased, sitting down close by.

Re: Kids Playing Ball. - raziel - 10-27-2018

"Not a bad idea," Raziel rumbled as he trotted over.  The twins had taken over watching his injuried Keona for the time being -- something the direwolf found... Troublesome, since they were far from calm individuals when together lately -- so the direwolf had some time to watch his own child.  Said girl had quite a bit of energy though, and Raziel never felt too inclined to interupt her activities.  Instead, he smiled warmly at the pup and took a seat beside Feliks.

He used to play these games himself, a long, long time ago.  Tracking mud into his childhood home much to his parents' bewilderment.  It had taken quite a bit of encouragement to draw the faerie away from his books.  Even now that was the case, as a collection of literature grew in his treehouse.  Yet Suvi was more than enough encouragement, even if she did not know it.  He simply liked keeping an eye on her, especially since they'd been separated for quite a bit of her early childhood -- of course, she still appeared quite young, but such was the case of the fae.

Re: Kids Playing Ball. - darci - 10-27-2018

[div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 70%; text-align: justify;"]Having once been owned by a human, Victor knew the game of fetch and ball rather well. It was always a treat when his human brought out the frisbee or the tennis ball. The only down side was that he had to compete against his siblings over who would obtain and the toys first. Generally, the game could have gone on for hours on end, but he understood his owner did no have enough time to spend the entire throwing a piece of plastic. Victor always had a high chase drive, a reason he had excelled so much at his former occupation. The striker missed those days of idly playing fetch, but he was certain that it would be looked down upon here.

The silver husky had been napping nearby when the raptor's noise woke him up. Talk about adults being loud. Pinning his ears back in slight annoyance, he lifted his head off of his paws. There went his afternoon nap. Rising to his paws, the dog made his way over, eyes watching the ball. "Is this a game of soccer or kickball?" questioned the canine, his head tilted to the side.

Re: Kids Playing Ball. - Masie - 10-27-2018

She didn't exactly know what to think of the male, he was strange sometimes, but she didn't really care to develop an opinion on him either. Most of her legit opinions outside the standard friendly one she possessed, existed for the sole purpose of love could not express the negativity she felt over that obscene noise that she sometimes heard. Beck was wrong about one thing, in reality there was a way he could ask Masie where she had gotten her toy and receive an accurate response. Could it take a few hours of frustration without any translator? Sure, but if done properly she was capable of developing an understand of things being asked of her. However, assuming that her inability to speak their language translated to a large inability to understand them, most never assumed for a second that she could complete such tasks if given the right stimuli and time. Luckily, he was entirely right about what the little raptor did want, it would take a real dim wit to mistake the intention to play with a ball.

Looking at the others whom had arrived, she chittered happily at the absence of the noise that hurt her ears. Thanks to not being properly taught language yet? Masie tilted her head unable to fully understand what victor had just asked, only that he had a question. She could keep watching him to try understanding what he was inquiring of her, but for now she needed to get this game started! Bright amber optics looking to beck she let it drop from her small arms and kicked out one foot using the side without the sickle claw to kick the ball at beck. That claw was actually one of the weird things, if one didn't know better they would think she hadn't even discovered the thing yet considering how her use of it was nonexistent. However, the truth was much simpler, she was simply still growing the muscles that normally would be used to sink that into something not quiet developed enough yet to allow Masie to do it. Yet, she knew it was important from watching her sisters, thus the care in using the other side of her foot to kick the ball.
