Community announcement - vvintersoldier - 10-21-2018

Hey there guys, recently it's come to my & Persia's attention that members are not feeling welcomed/included in Sunhaven- discord & roleplay alike. Over on discord, we've been told that people have a hard time getting into the community- that they do not feel included in current conversation, which makes it far more difficult for them to feel involved & welcomed into the group. The community feels closed off.

Roleplay wise, a lot of open threads lately have been getting little to no responses. A lot of these threads are joiners and returning members, and it's taken a day or even longer for them to get a reply or two. The lack of responses and the amount of time that passes by is causing people to feel unwelcomed & turn away from Sunhaven. These threads have been posted int the unread-open-thread channel in the sunhaven server, and even with them posted there- they barely got enough replies.

Overall, Persia & I ask that as a community we work harder to include members- both icly and oocly. Oocly, remember to include others in conversation, plotting and more- while it's 100% okay to have friends in a group, remember to be friendly and welcoming to everyone. Even branch out to people that you don't know as well. Icly, remember to actively be around Sunhaven. While we understand that we're all busy with school, work and other extracurricular activities, as a community we need to put more effort into threads. There are plenty of interesting threads for us to roleplay, interact & develop our characters in. While threads might get overlooked at times, it shouldn't be happening as often as it currently is.

We want Sunhaven to be a fun, friendly including place for everyone, and right now we unfortunately aren't meeting that goal. In order to fix this, we all as a whole need to put in more effort in both aspects.
