[div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 70%; text-align: justify;"]If someone had told Victor that he would even obtain a power, he would have simply laughed at the idea and walked off. Back home, powers were seldom and typically looked down upon. Any one found to have a power would, essentially, leave the community, no longer really having a place. Powers were usually considered to be a genetic defect that generally traveled down family lines. In Victor's lineage, the only known Nikiforov to have a power had been his great grandmother. The power had not surfaced until she was rather old, but she managed to almost burn down a neighboring forest. She had died from old age a few years later and his family believed that power died with her. Despite this, the power had not died, but simply lie dormant, ever changing and evolving. Fortunately, he did not have to burn down a forest in order to learn of his 'defect'. Victor held no ill will towards powers, especially here. Here, they appeared to be luxury.

He made his way across the underwater railroad, returning from a small excursion outside of the territory. The ripples in the water he left in his wake began to freeze over, but were quickly melted away due to the warm waters. Unaware of this occurring, he pressed forward, nearing the shore. The fur along his back suddenly became covered in a light sheet of frost and a sudden chill came over him. He shivered, wondering if the weather had suddenly changed or if he had caught a cold. Only a few paces away from the main island, he was suddenly unable to lift one of his back legs. Jerking around in surprise, he saw no one there. Blue eyes drew down, seeing the water around his paw having froze, holding his leg in place. This was not normal. Giving a violent jerk of his leg, the ice broke and he freed his leg. Puzzled, he turned back around to proceed forward, but this time, a front leg was frozen in place. "What the hell," he whispered under his breath, suddenly starting to notice the frost on his fur. Growing a bit frightful, he broke the ice and quickly raced to the beach, leaving the water before something else happened.

The frost around his shoulders began to build up and harden whereas everything else seemed the stay the same. Ice kept building and building until he had two rod-like shapes sticking out of the side of his body. Still, the ice kept shifting as if it was trying to take the shape of something. Both horrified and confused, Victor quickly turned, taking the large rod between he teeth and breaking the ice in half. As if triggering a chain reaction, the frost suddenly melted away, leaving him be for the time being. It appeared he had gained the elemental power of water, the opposite of what his ancestor had possessed. "Son of a bitch."

Bakugou was the opposite. In his old world, powers were expected of everyone. It was the biggest tragedy to be born without one and his childhood friend had been one of them. He was the bully. He took every moment in his life to bully the boy's quirklessness, especially after realising just how special everyone had made his own abilities feel. He thought himself to be a god, a creature who had been blessed above everyone else. Then, when he had been reborn into this world, it didn't take him long to bear the powers of fire...something rather similar to his old combustive abilities. Powers have always been a part of his life. He probably couldn't function without them. It was obvious that he also viewed them as abilities expected to appear in just about anyone. Those who were powerless were the ones he viewed as insignificant. Pitiful. So it was when his eyes flickered over towards Victor, watching the male move about uncomfortably before noticing shards of ice beginning to form around the sled dog's pelt that he immediately assumed it to be something newly forming. This, of course, was interesting to him. A difference in the old world and this world was that powers in this world could manifest at any time and any age. It didn't have to be around the age of four years old.

Victor didn't look to be in a good mood like he usually was. It was strange seeing him so uncomfortable and he wanted to tease the other for it. Alas, no words could form in Bakugou's mind. His cells twitched in agitation, buzzing and ready to enter a plane of oblivion for short moments and materialise in front of Victor. The Reaver, however, does not move so quickly. He's been to quiet as of late and isn't particularly interested in breaking his calm streak. It was nice for a change because his skin wasn't as hot as it usually was. He might still be vexed by others but the way he reacts is different...far less explosive on the tongue. He found that with his more stoic nature, his earth elementals worked better. He was a lot more in tune with his surroundings, able to notice the tremors of the ground when others walked and the individual make-up of environmental structures. With his fire abilities, walking would lead to the slight burning of plants around him when he walked. It was easy to track Bakugou from it. But now it wasn't a problem, he was able to control not only his earth elementals but his rage which in turn controlled his fire.

As Bakugou walks towards the Striker, the sand compresses beneath his paws so not to let the grains cause him to sink to his ankles. He stops on a formed platform, sitting down and looking at Victor plainly. "You look pissed for once," he says, stating the obvious before noticing the droplets of water rolling from the male's fur as residue of the frost before. "Ghosts or water elementals?"

"The endless Void, The gazing abyss, The bottomless ocean of horror...It coiled itself around your tender heart"
powers were varied where he was from - mortal's could and often did develop there own in abundance but he and his family were above and beyond in those terms - mostly because the powers weren't a given, they were intrinsic to them because of what they were.

They had been labelled gods - and that could be applied, mother did descend from the firstborn, creator-being itself being literal half of its  one of them the literal existence of an element, an idea, an abstract concept woven into a mortal mimicking form at birth freed at death of said casing only to start around again.

They didn't end after all - lucifer hummed quietly watching as Bakugou strode up to the clearly surprised victor, the dragon making his way over with a nod to both and a snort at Bakugou's comment "I'd hope the former - the latter's been more often than I'm used to lately" idly he almost hoped yet vehemently wished his own wouldn't show - he didn't know if he could deal with the proverbial scar re-opened.

[div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 70%; text-align: justify;"]His head snapped up at Bakugou spoke, a brief flash of irritation coming across his face. Victor needed to calm down. This was an ugly and inappropriate behavior for someone of his age and upbringing. Drawing in a deep breath, the canine settled his nerves, trying to recollect himself. He met Bakugou's word with a moment of silence, staring at him as if the reaver had sprouted another head. His gaze was broken with a single blink. "I believe elementals," he breathed, his words rather hushed. Being this early in the game, he had no control over his powers and was unsure of what the triggers were. Being brave enough to try, he lifted a paw, the sand underneath frozen. As long as he did not cause any damage, he should be fine. It was just a matter of learning how to control them, or how to get rid of them. The sled dog knew there was no getting rid of something genetic.

It was hard to miss Lucifer as the dragon arrived. He began to wonder if he was the odd one out for not having powers. Sometimes being 'normal' was a good thing. The striker hoped ghosts had nothing to do with this. So far, he had his fair share of ghosts and was always on alert if one decided to try something funny.

The former as in the ghosts? He blinks, looking at Luciferus and wondering if he misunderstood what the ebony creature was saying. He would rather the powers over the spectral beings, finding the undead rascals to frustrate him. They liked to play pranks, sometimes moving the items in his hut or possessing his pieces of armour. They give him quite the spook and it was to his luck that no one saw his look for absolute terror. He isn't particularly sure, however, if he was pleased to hear that Victor had elementals too. It seemed that they weren't special. The elements flowed in everyone and now Bakugou had to work twice as hard to ensure no one caught up to him, to establish a lead. He just wants to feel powerful. It doesn't mean anything if everyone was the same as him, doing his best not to show his feeling of being threatened within his eyes. "I'm guessin' it only just started manifestin' too considerin' how you look," he then says. Water elementals. It means he can throw fire Victor's way if he wanted with the possibility of the sled dog being able to block it completely, knowing he won't harm him. He will keep that in mind.

How interesting; amusing, even. Curiosity couldn't be killed with the boy, the frightful desire to investigate rearing its ugly head and glittering in his glazed eyes. He wasn't all too familiar with powers, despite the natural abilities of his ghosthood often interpreted as absurd comic-book feats. When he lived and breathed like the island's fleshbags, unnatural abilities such as freezing water with a simple touch or summoning fire at the spread of a palm was taboo. Witchcraft. Heresy. Which meant execution, the However, these creatures seemed to develop powers at the drop of a hat, mutation or magic or whatever ridiculous excuse they could wrench from their brains. A sneer curled his disfigured snout as he admired the sled dog panic on the shore, slinking from the shadows of the treeline to approach.

The scrawny feline remained frightfully silent, circling Victor all while keeping his distance from Bakugou, who he pointedly snubbed and jabbed his nose to the heavens at. Satisfied with his unwelcomed examination, he slumped into his haunches, scratching at his notched ear with a hind foot as the others spoke. When the conversation he neglected to pay attention to lulled and a chance to speak buzzed in his eardrums, the poltergeist compulsively arched his back, popping vertebrae visible under a gaunt frame due to the sudden stretch. Relief from acting on the constant urge to tic allowing him to relax from his tense stature, he wheezed something akin to a sigh and chirped at Victor, "Think ya cou-uld make me a snowman?" Beck attempted to contort his freckle-marred face into a begging expression like a child asking for candy, fat lip jutting from his disfigured snout and ugly yellow saucers smack dab in the middle of his face stretched to the sockets' limits, desperately mimicking puppy eyes. A trivial request, but with a hidden motive to lure Victor into presenting his newfound "elemental" a second time.
