[align=center][div style="text-align: justify; width: 60%; font-family: georgial; font-size: 11pt;"]Since joining the Ascendants, Ren had found himself absolutely everywhere. Wherever drama lingered or another kid chose to hobble across the border, he was there ghosting the situation making sure everything was alright. Such involvement was the perfect excuse for his idleness when it came to more serious parts of clan life (he still had yet to participate in a training session), but for once the felidae found himself with nothing to do. A walk across the borders had resulted in no potential joiners, and when investigating the camp everyone seemed to be too caught up in their own affairs to include him. It meant that for the first time since stepping into the hilly territory, he had some genuine free time to do whatever he liked. No hiding away from patrol makers, no helping out others with their problems, he could figure out what he wanted to do.

There was just one slight problem... what could a young cat actually do by himself? Sleep, sure, but there was time for that later. Groom himself? Messy fur would've killed for such attention, but he preferred the rugged look neglecting it gave him. Read and learn about the world? No, that was more of an evening activity, with the sun barely past it's daytime cycle he didn't want to leave himself with nothing to do before bedtime. Other options went through his head before a quiet sigh eventually escaped the tom. Maybe, just maybe, genuine free time wasn't so glamorous after all. Defeated by his own indecisiveness, Ren reclined himself to a quiet corner in the Observatory, intending on staying there for the rest of the day. By his white paws were two prey items, one sparrow and one mouse.

Both would provide an adequate meal, but once again he was stuck between the two. White meat, or red meat? How long had he cared about what food he was putting into his body? Paws tapped against the cold ground in thought.

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: Verdana; font-size: 11px; color: black;"]Ah, yes. If there was one dilemma that Agathe had happened upon more than once since joining the Ascendants, it was the nearly universal question of what to eat. Big game had once been her primary diet with dinners sometimes accentuated by a glass full of a recently conquered enemy's blood. That latter part was wholly unnecessary, even Agathe realized that, but if people were free to fill themselves up with alcohol, why could she and her sister's not get drunk off of the coppery tang of their own victory? She was intelligent enough to acknowledge how entirely out of place a practice such as that one was here though, and more often than not found herself forced to hunt and dine by her lonesome.

Such never bothered her, really it didn't, but Agathe would not be afraid to admit how much she missed the company of her fourteen other sisters as they shared valiant tales of battle with one another. A sharp pang went through her at that thought, golden eyes briefly shutting as she, for the first time, pondered what punishment might have befallen them for once answering to her. A few horrendous outcomes came to mind and caused her to abandon the thought completely, though the faintest remnants of a frown now embraced a rosetted maw. She needed a distraction.

And perhaps the Fates knew that, as they gifted her with the sight of Ren who seemed to be mulling over his next meal. Blood from the deer she had mercilessly slaughtered still stained her paws and parts of her muzzle, but Agathe appeared relatively unbothered by her unbecoming appearance as she chose to take a seat before him, eyeing his meal selections with a gleaming, golden gaze. "The prey here is so small," She finally mused aloud, shoulders rising and falling (and earning a well hidden wince from Agathe because her wounds still had yet to heal) in a shrug, "But it's good nevertheless. Fresh. How are you?"

[align=center][div style="text-align: justify; width: 60%; font-family: georgial; font-size: 11pt;"]For some time the male did not look up from his catches, even as the shuffle of pawsteps coming towards him became increasingly clear. Simply put, this decision was far too important to distract himself with things such as socialising, only deciding to pay attention to his surroundings when a flash of red entered the corner of his eye. Blood. An ear swiveled first before eventually his whole head followed, maw parted in surprise as he looked up towards the leopard that had joined him. Such shock quickly turned to relief as his gaze trailed upwards to her muzzle, coming to a realisation that she hadn't injured herself further. Maybe there was no difference between the tang of a beast's blood and the blood of prey, maybe he wasn't wild enough to be able to tell the difference, maybe he didn't care enough to learn. Whatever the reasons were for his preemptive conclusions, Ren was glad they were over.

"Loads of big carnivores around here. Means big prey gets eaten more often whilst little prey thrives. You'd see more deer and meese if you were all my size," he tried sounding intelligent, albeit butchering the plural of 'moose' whilst doing so. As bright as he thought he was, the tom still wouldn't claim to know everything, he was but a youngster in comparison to those like Bubonicplague, after all. They may've been bossy and irritating most of the time, but superiors did have some benefits with their knowledge of the world. Unsheathing his claws, the feline suddenly lunged a white forepaw towards the sparrow with a speed only suggested if the bird was still alive, bringing it towards himself. Yes, this was what he had decided, with all of them feathers he figured one with bigger claws might've struggled to pluck them all away. His other paw moved towards the mouse, swatting it gently towards Agathe as an offering.

Such a morsel must be just as filling as a single chip in a bag to a snow leopard of such stature, but he figured that it was the thought that counted. As he began ripping away at the small feathers and plumage, Ren finally seemed to acknowledge the other's question. "Bored. I've been non-stop since I've joined, genuinely having time to myself is rough," he admitted, trying his hardest to smile through the lulled feeling his laziness gave him. He'd hate it if Agathe thought she was the one causing his sluggishness, if he were honest she was one of the only few who might be able to save him from this nightmare known as free time. Thoughts of how being jokingly told off at the borders flashed through his head again, covering a similar cringing fluster by lowering his head to let the corpse cover some of it. "Are your wounds getting any better?" he noted her wince, looking up in an attempt to be nonchalant.
