It had been four days since Rocky had been brought to the Typhoon. Four days since he had been brought to a place that was supposed to be home. The first two days were rough. Nobody was sure if Rocky's fever was going to break or if the infection that raged through him would finally simmer down. It did, with reluctance. The infection was still there and it made the beta weary. His limbs were heavy and his eyelids were even heavier. He had only been aware of his surroundings for a day and a half, aware of the events that tormented him when he closed his eyes, when it got too quiet, when nobody was around. he was aware of the anger and he was could feel something unidentifiable lingering at the back of his mind. He was scared. Rocky had no control over his own mind. He had no control over his dreams and watched they had quickly morphed into some of the most hellish few hours of his day. His body was no longer his own, marred with reminders of those two months..so many reminders. His eyes were filled with pain, masked only by anger. Rocky would be resting on the couch of Luca, a friend that he'd had since before everything had happened. He used to think that Luca was weird, with how he was always masking how nervous he was when people touched certain spots on his back or looked at his back too much. Rocky understood now. Luca was currently curled around Rocky, although careful to avoid his bandages, and they'd be sitting in a gentle silence, the only noise being the hum of music coming from somewhere else in the house. Two steaming bowls of hot chocolate sat on the table nearby. Rocky wasn't sure what he felt at this moment but it was nice..he hadn't had any positive physical contact since he was four months old. He knew that his heart was skipping slightly and the urge to fight or flee was there, but he squashed it. His back gave what was almost like a cautionary pain, a reminder of what could happen. Rocky shook slightly as he buried his face in Lucas fur. "SPEECH" |
