All lined up and organized along a low shelf in his room. There were two shelves to be exact and they stretched from wall to all. The bottom shelf held one of the most important jars in his life as it was one of his first. Though right now it was not within it's proper spot. No the jar was grasped between the sha's large paws, the maroon pads pressed up against the side of it as he looked down at the still beating organ that laid just within. The liquid seemed to keep the self exciting muscles going and he watched as it continued to pump, pushing liquid through it at a slow pace. A light sigh left the canine's throat, one of sorrow and regret. But a soft want of need plastered across his face yet it lasted for only a moment as his face became blank once more. He'd labeled the jar and he knew whose heart it was that was within his possession something that he knew he would kill for if it fell into the wrong paws. His claws softly clanged against the glass as he pulled Quill's heart against his own and he could feel the thudding from it against his skin. His own heart couldn't match the beating as it was much much slower than it normally should. But he was also thinking, afraid, yet hopeful. He and Quill were close, closer than most but at the same time he didn't understand how he felt toward the larger canine. He wanted all eyes on him, he wanted the attention from the other temporary on him and only him. It drove him towards edges of jealousy to see him with other canines in general but he knew he shouldn't be. Yet he couldn't help it. This enthrallment was bad and disruptive he knew that through and through but he couldn't shake it. It was like a dark shadow that plagued him and he sighed heatedly as he pushed the jar away from him gently before he got up and grasped it in his jaws. For a split second he thought about going off and burying it but he was weak. He'd never been strong to do anything that would actually make him better. Do anything that was good for him and didn't turn him into something that the Pitt desired. He always did what the Pitt mandated and he realized that he was no more free than he had been as a slave. The idea that he did what he did to make the Pitt see him as better was making himself like them. It caused him to freeze and a pained whine left his throat. His jaws trembled for a moment and he almost dropped Quill's heart upon the floor, almost. He settled it down on the low shelf, breath a rasp as he pulled his long rabbit like ears against his skull. What was wrong with him? Why couldn't he see himself as more than just a puppet to be strung along? Would everyone else string him along? Why did Esklav make him a temporary leader? To give him some false sense of security before wrapping iron chains around his throat again. His breathing was ragged and perhaps too loud, filling up his ears and his senses. The unison thudding of hearts seemed to get too loud, too loud and he pressed his head against his cot, throwing his paws over his ears. Too loud. Being bored, the doberman decided to explore more of the camp and the territory. It seemed everyday he was finding something new, may it been a cave or a foul-looking rock of some sorts. During the heat of the day, he usually stuck to the confines of the camp, only venturing out when it had cooled down for the evening. The sun against his ebony coat was not a good match. Despite being use to the heat, it was draining. Levi exited his own den, eyes scanning his surroundings, trying to stay away from the heavy flow of traffic. He found it easier to explore along the edges, out of everyone's line of sight. Social gatherings were not much of the male's forte, even if he had once been the leader of a large group. He kicked up some sand along the way, a sneeze quickly following. Nothing was worse than inhaling the dirt and debris in the air. Levi dreaded the day a sandstorm would kick up. How anyone survived was beyond him. Passing nearby where Valkry was, the noise had caught his attention. Unaware that someone dwelled here, the doberman poked his head inside. At first, he saw nothing and proceeded in. The sudden movements of the other male spooked Levi, causing him to jump back. Snapping his attention to the direction of Valkry, the bristled fur along his neck began to settle. The idea of him intruding in someone's house was overpowered by the sight of the hearts in jars. What the actual fuck. He jaw hung ever so slightly, his mind trying to process what he was seeing. "What is all of this?" Levi was at a loss for words. He looked between the jaws and Valkry, only to find him having some sort of moment. "Ya alright?" |
