neon gravestones - attack - darci - 10-06-2018

[div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 60%; font-family: georgia; font-size: 13pt; text-align: justify;"]He stood upon the top of a large sand dune, hazel eyes looking up at the sky. All seemed peaceful about him, but inside did his mind wage a war. All Levi ever knew was to kill and control, nothing more, and nothing less. That was not him, but someone he had been manipulated into believing he was. His entire childhood, wasted. He was a waste. A child a mother refused to love, a child a father refused to even acknowledge. Levi was believed to be doomed at birth, never to be what he was made for. Left to die, to wither away. He clenched his jaws, pain searing through his muscles at the pressure. His eyes dropped to a sudden figure that stood before him. It was someone he did not know, one who did not belong here. A feral. "Leave, now." His voice was stern yet quiet. He was in no mood for this.

The feral simply stared at him, teeth bared in a threatening manner. Levi had yet to see a normal looking wolf in these parts. While the wolf had size in its advantage, Levi had more experience. Even so, Levi had no desire to fight. The feral wolf charged, viewing Levi as the owner of this territory, a territory the wolf wanted. "Idiot." Feral animals always pissed him off. Before the wolf could advance any further, Levi rushed forward, proving to be much faster than he appeared. He used the sand to glide his body to the right, dodging the wolf's uncoordinated attack. Lunging forward, the dog sunk his teeth into the side of the wolf's neck, blood suddenly filling his mouth. Blood. He had grown use to the disgusting taste. Before the wolf could turn to bite at him, Levi summoned all his strength and almost threw the wolf up and over him, but he forgot his injuries were still not healed.

Pain shot through him, his body abruptly giving out. He managed to hold on long enough to slam the larger canine into the ground, stunning it. Gathering himself, Levi pressed a paw down on the downed wolf's neck, pushing down as hard as he could to block off the oxygen intake and outtake. "Bastard, who do you think you are?" The wolf began to flail, eyes going pale from the lack of oxygen. Levi bared his teeth, snarling in the wolf's ear. "Get the hell out, scum." He drew back, releasing his hold. The wolf coughed and sputtered, flailing about like a fish as it sucked in air. Managing to find its feet, the wolf took off as fast as it could, racing out of the territory and out of Levi's sight. He had never spared the life of an assailant before.

BENNY G.
benny shouldn't be surprised about any feral's roaming around the deserts. there were plenty in the Nevada wastes. coyotes that tried snatching up kids unattended to. sometimes the occasional rabid bobcat would try coming in to steal what goods they had or claw at an unlucky sucker that got caught alone. benny couldn't help but shudder at the threat of mountain lions. they made him... paranoid.

either way, ferals were pests that just didn't seem capable of being eliminated. at least to a permanent state. benny had heard the snarls and whines come from ahead of him, and hesitantly decided to investigate. he caught the last part of the fight; levi giving mercy to the bastard and watching it flee.

"well, that's one way t' do it." the fox grinned as he strode toward the doberman. "s'pose there was a reason you survived, even now you can still pack a punch, yeah?" it was... admirable. he couldn't tell if he was envious or in love.

Re: neon gravestones - attack - MORIBUND - 10-06-2018

feral or non-feral, sentient or not, it did not matter to moribund's two heads. often for them, the line blurred. anyone could be a threat, a menace. it was only a matter of who was less of a danger to them to them in that moment.

the cacophony of a brief skirmish rattled their bones. the child did not want to come any closer. the din of fighting meant trouble and bloodshed that they could get caught up within, yet when the snarls had dwindled and silenced, it was fascination that made them take the step forward.

two sets of eyes wandered over the scene; the quiet crimson of the attacker before soaking into the heat blessed sand. the right only had silence to offer, yet at the sight of it all-- vivid and red like the brightest of roses, the head gazed on in quiet wonder to those hooded molten irises.

the left head glances appraisingly at the ebony doberman, admiring the muscled physique that allowed it to drive away such the mystery enemy-- moribund had not stayed around to see the wolf-- with hones skills the lamb could only dream of.

"you're incredible, mister," the first head remarks; the first one to speak, and the only one to speak. "who was that?" lips part in a soft, inquiring 'baa.'

[align=center][div style="text-align: justify; width: 55%; font-family: georgia; font-size: 11pt; letter-spacing: -1px; color: black"]The male didn't do much brute strength fighting. It just wasn't in him and his body couldn't take such brutal hits. Such was his life and as a slave he was even more susceptible to the grueling punishments that he was forced to endure. His body gave way easily to bruises and wounds like paper and he had to wonder why was he cursed with such a frail form even though it was so large in size. Watching Levi and his way of handling the feral dog made his heart flutter in his chest, the show of power and strength enlightening him and he moved forward slowly as if he might do something. But his paws stopped as he watched the feral canine run off. That would have been a good meal, buried in the ground for a few days and left to rot. But he supposed he would have to settle for other things. He hated to do so but he wouldn't allow for himself to target other Pittians for the sake of satisfying his own hunger. Flicking his forked tail he turned back to look at Levi and the others with a small smile pulling at the corner of his blackened lips, gaze shifting down for a short moment. "Indeed it was impressive." He could give him that although letting and assailant go was not something to commend. But that was none of his business.

Instead he eyed Levi then, looking over his body with a keen eye before he allowed a sigh to leave his throat. Lifting his tail the male attempted to tap his shoulder, just a simple and gentle movement. "Although, you should be careful about over exerting yourself. Your wounds aren't completely healed and I would hate for you to degenerate to an unfit state. If you need more medicine or bandages come see me." He did his best with what he had although he was not looking to become the town medic any time soon. It was merely a hobby he had picked up, something self sustaining for himself. Old habits seemed to help make the Pitt flourish and that was all that was necessary he supposed.

[div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 60%; font-family: georgia; font-size: 13pt; text-align: justify;"]He not intended to draw a crowd. It appeared that no matter what happened, there was always someone watching. For a time, he began to think this place was just like his old pack, each member spying on one another. It was exhausting to be kept on your toes all day, watching every word and action you did. Being Reyes' personal pet, Levi did not have as much to fear as the others. That made him a good target, until whoever drew the courage to confront him came into view of his fangs. He grew nauseous at the memory. His eyes slowly drew to Benny as the fox appeared. While he could slightly taste it, he ignored the blood that began to trickle out of the side of his mouth. It appeared he was not as sound as he wanted to believe. Damnit.

"I was just lucky." The doberman was not sure if the bear that went down with him managed to survive. Even so, at this point, he could not care any less. He had fulfilled his service, and that was the end of it. He could still pack a punch? Hardly. Levi generally refrained from using brute strength to avoid injury, but the anger that shot through him had other plans. Being as lean as he was, Levi was best suited for fights that involved stamina, but the older he got did he found himself being more confrontational with his battles. It seemed he was changing in more ways than one. He finally addressed Moribund: "Some feral. I couldn't careless who." He refrained from responding the praise he was receiving. Levi was modest as they came. The doberman had no desire to be memorized for his battle skills.

It appeared he was not the only one who was aware that his injuries were still present. At the offer of more medicine or bandages, he began to do a mental evaluation of himself. The muscle in his back leg was sore, his ribs still shattered to a certain degree. Levi was not dumb enough to simply believe he could walk this all off and be alright. He hated people like that. "I might take you up on that offer."
