OVER (Open, ghost) - MirrorEdge - 10-04-2018

//because why not fuck with Thea some more
"Seems you've made yourself plenty at home, Thea. Such a shame." The voice that was so familiar to Thea had her turning, and the pale form of her mother greeted her.

There had been ghosts around the Ascendents. Anakin was the only one she could name off the top of her head, appearing here and there, with an almost warm presence surrounding him. This was not the case for Thea's mother, as Thea could almost feel the temperature dropping a few degrees. Perhaps it was her imagination, from the fact that this was the effect her mother had always had on her, drilling into her that it wasn't okay to be weak.

Pale blue eyes widened, the warmth and cheeriness that was usually in them quickly draining away upon meeting her mother's emotionless one.

As a child, Thea hadn't understood what was wrong with her upbringing, that there was anything wrong in the first place. As long as you smiled, it would be alright. Yet the advice that had gotten her so far could do nothing to help Thea now, as she stood frozen in place, not even blinking at the form before her. Was this fear? Panic? Both?

"M-mom? What are you doing here?" The mess of emotions, confusion, happiness, anger, could be heard, and finally, Thea took a step back, tail whipping back and forth.

Oh dear god, her past was coming back to haunt her. Literally.

Had her mother appeared like this months ago, she would've been overjoyed. Would've run up with a grin on her face and told her that she was doing her best to become strong, and that she had been right. That mom had always been right. Now, fear and anger at her mother, for helping her turn into the monster she now was, could be felt. "Leave. Please."

"Please? You don't politely ask somebody to do something, you make them, Thea. Have I not taught you anything? Or have you gone soft enough that you've forgotten?" The older leopard took a few steps towards Thea, the cold smile on her face so unlike Thea's, which usually held almost an unnatural amount of cheer. In an attempt to force her dead mother back, Thea unsheathed her claws, and tried to slam them in the older leopard's head, only to watch as they passed through, her ghostly form reappearing after a moment or two, and continuing to advance.

"You were going to try and kill your own mother?" It wasn't those words that worried her, it was the unspoken ones. You were going to try and kill her again, weren't you? Like you considered doing with Roy. Just killing him to solve your problems.

"Though, I can't believe anybody actually trusted you enough to take you in, shelter you. Or that you would actually seek them out. Or that anything related to me would be weak enough to do that." A ghostly paw raised up, and Thea could feel the chill in her bones as it passed through her.

Re: OVER (Open, ghost) - GABRIEL - 10-06-2018

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-size: 9.4pt; line-height: 1.4;"]Yeah, Gabe was just convinced at this point that everyone was fucked. They all had skeletons in their closets, didn't they? Seemed like they were coming to life to pay visits to the people who put them there, and honestly, he was surprised he hadn't been paid a visit by the many people in his life who died on his watch, or died because of him. There was no shortage of faces in either category, honestly; just pick a card, roll the dice, pull the trigger- whichever manner of random selection was used in this spooky phenomenon of the visiting dead. It might be nice to see some of the sick fucks he put away floating around, detached from their bodies. It'd certainly make Gabe smug to know they were still dead as fuck, and still far removed from ever hurting anyone again. He could deal with a bit of haunting, no problem. Technically, to get all poetic and shit, he already was.

But not everyone was so content with most of their actions, or with the people they'd put six feet under- or in the bellies of vultures and worms. Gabe sure as hell didn't bury any of the murderers. Anyway. Ghosts. People's awful lives and histories.

Was there a day he wouldn't be this tired?

And there was Thea, having a conversation with ghost-mom. At this point, Gabe was gonna put on a tin foil hat and crawl into bed for the next month, until this shit blew over and he didn't have to deal with it anymore. "Opinions of the dead don't really matter. It's like...I don't know, asking a newborn child how to give birth." Gross example, but he figured it worked to highlight just how out of contact spirits were. And how shitty. What kind of person would ask a kid that? "Shoo fly."
