The she-cat didn't understand her powers, only that she sometimes created plush dolls out of her dreams, and that she couldn't conjure anything outside of them. She could shapeshift into other bodies and animals, and all she knew about it was that her powers, somehow, were linked to her book that she carried everywhere. She just had to decode it first.
In all honesty, Belladonna's powers regarding her dreams weren't even the reason she loathed sleep. It was instead the perpetual nightmares and haunting dreams that plagued her - so sleep was a curse she had to live by, and said curse came over her as she sat at her desk, peering into her grimoire, reading a page on dreams. Oh, how ironic that is.
When her eyes opened in the dream, her face contorted with confusion - this wasn't her dream. She knew immediately by the fact it wasn't a place she recognized, nor was it the swirling shadows her nightmares usually took place in. She took a step forward to start wondering, when she realized she was pale - like a ghost, or a shadow, not entirely there. If she had no clue where she was, then whose dream was she in?
