the scorching, indimitable heat of the desert left them exhausted. it was as if the pitt's territory was specifically designed to drain the energy from it's inhabitants. with the sun harshly beating onto their warm back like a blistering furnace, moribund found no solice outside.

it was made even worse by their dark hide; soaked up all the light and never spit it back out.

the two headed child felt uneven across the hellish sands. they hobbled in an unsteady gate, thrown off by sheer disluck of anatomy. their sharp, cloven hooves offered little aid; the compact keratin sunk into the sand, pressing grains into their soles. an intolerable discomfort. but nothing was to be done about it.

it was one of the few days they were left without their master; tied securely to the wooden arm of a post, and sweating under the merciless sun.
