SEE I'VE COME TO BURN YOUR KINGDOM DOWN | power discovery - Feyre - 09-23-2018

☽  ☽  ☽
It was the faintest of whispers that beckoned her into the gloom of the cloudy night. A strange force oh-so-eagerly tugged at her entity, clumsy paws leading the recently awoken Feyre closer and closer to the City of Stars. She had learned at a young age to never deny the call of fate, her rising and falling voice - her command - usually indicative of something important. Of something great. She couldn't sense tragedy on the wind tonight either, the darkened black that all but engulfed her fragile form just that- darkness. Something was amiss, yes, but the change that wreathed and coiled around her bore no ill-will. Hm.

Hello, Feyre darling.

That voice rang through her head as clear as day, some sense of familiarity enveloping her entirely. The last remnants of her weariness had been effectively dismissed and, puzzled as to why she was summoned to this location in particular, Feyre perked her ears, inclined her neck, and studied the cracked pillar in which she had stopped before. "Explain?" Urged the child softly, fangs sinking into the soft flesh of her lip contemplatively. But the presence was slowly fading, that warm and motherly feeling that was almost always extended to her now nonexistent. She'd blink a few times out of both frustration and defeat before turning her gaze to the sky.

For what felt like hours, she watched as the clouds parted, the light from the newly revealed moon bathing the ruins in a soft, silver hue.  A smile appeared upon speckled lips but it certainly did not last, not when a strange feeling was spreading like a wildfire through her body. It started out as an ache, low and hardly noticeable, but now it was agonizing- a searing pain that berated every inch of her.  Amber eyes would squeeze shut and Feyre would release a small, half muffled scream before the pain just... subsided.

Slowly, she drew in a hesitant breath, finally sating the ache that had developed in her lungs. "What... What happened?" The little witch inquired aloud, glancing down only to release a real scream this time. She'd fall backwards, large, brown paws flailing helplessly in the air. This wasn't her body. This wasn't her body.

"Help! HELP! I think I'm dying!"

What certainly didn't help the situation were the flames that came to life around her, illuminating the now young (but rather large) wolf that Feyre most certainly wasn't.

This was bad.

Really bad.

HAZEL ELISE CAELUM ★ THE ASCENDANTS ★ COCOA FELINE ★ GOLD EYES ★ IMMORTAL ★ 3 SOULS ★ 11 MONTHS

Hazel had a knack for death. It was no talent or revered skill, and it certainly wasn't usefull. In fact, this savvy seldom appeared, unless someone was mortally wounded and their time on Earth was limited. She never reached the victim in time, never saved them; was only painfully aware of their imminent end and could do little more than stand back and watch as people fruitlessly tried to save them.

Unfortunately, it wasn't uncommon for this kind of event to grace the Ascendants; and recently, it had happened with someone she'd rather it hadn't. Bastille's "Minutes of Death" act held little amusement in her eyes, as it might've in his. It had only brought her to the cusp of nonexistence, and without his return, Hazel probably wouldn't be standing where she was in the moment. There were other events of that particular day that had affected her nearly as much as his death did, but the fact that she couldn't get it out of her head was unimportant.

Feyre's shriek was what startled Hazel out of her hasty craft of bracelet making. It was ironic: the owner of said shriek was actually the person she was hoping to give the bracelet to, but she supposed it wouldn't be much help if the girl didn't exist. Hazel moved in the direction of the scream immediately, waiting for the icy chill of Death's claws. Fortunately, even as she pushed a body that didn't have the space to be pushed to top speeds, she felt nothing drag along her spine. Relief soaked her veins as much as possible, though the friction of adrenaline hardly allowed it to settle before it was vaporized.

"Feyre?" Hazel called, skidding to a halt around the ruins of the ancient temples. Never mind that she was seeing spots and breathing too heavily, but she'd lost the sound of the young witch's scream. "Feyre - where are you?" Her voice laced with urgency, Hazel picked her way through the ruins. Suddenly a burst of orange flared from around the corner of a temple, and without further thought, Hazel raced towards it, ready to round it and find a young girl mauled or severely wounded. Instead, what she found was...not Fey.

Not the original, anyway. Hazel recognized the aura quickly enough, but the body... "Feyre...?"

Re: SEE I'VE COME TO BURN YOUR KINGDOM DOWN | power discovery - tori - 09-25-2018

Alex was no stranger to the ethereal and paranormal phenomenon that came with this place, something always felt out of place and whatever controlled the concept of these unnatural powers and situations was grabbing a bunch of them by the ankles, one by one, and just mind fucking everyone. Ghosts, reincarnation, those aforementioned powers, the works. And while he did not think he had any ties to those things, seeing others struggle with them did not faze him, almost as if he had a lifetime of experience. As for why, he didn't...know.

Alexander had followed the same path as Hazel to find the source of the scream, praying to whatever there was to pray to that this was not a situation that would be met with something morbid. He didn't have the energy in him to put up with one more bloody situation, not for a while. Something deep in his soul was pulling at his heart strings with every new event, he was afraid what the final result would be if this continued. But what he found now was not a tragic scenario, there was no wounds, no death, no declaration of war. Something rather funny, actually.

The mechanistic canine stopped by Hazel, blinking the flash of bright light out of his eyes. "Witch girl?" Alexander echoed after Haze, gaze switching from the unfamiliar wolf to the fire around her. Priorities. "Focus, can you put out these flames first?" Calm, keep her calm. Or try to, she was too spunky for the likes of him.

Re: SEE I'VE COME TO BURN YOUR KINGDOM DOWN | power discovery - MOONMADE - 09-25-2018

"You're not dying." Says Moon. He peers at the wolf with a calculating golden gaze. Before the Ascendants, all he'd known was blood magic and the type of spells that did more harm than anything, but here, the supernatural came in different forms. Ones peculiar but not exactly malevolent. Not that he'd enjoyed the snapped toothpick of an arm his own newfound powers had given him. "It's some magical bullshit. Powers." Eloquent, as he always was. But with dark circles sunken under his eyes and a flat tone, that was the best she was going to get, Today. "It's not gonna' hurt you, Fey. Just means you might get the urge to chase your tail every so often. Howl at the moon, or something." He pauses, glances to the flames that surround her, and his voice takes on something softer, speaking like he's trying to calm a wild horse. "Alex is right. Think you can knock it off with the pyromaniac shit?"

The flames crackled around her, a seemingly untamable force that she could only stare at, transfixed. For a brief moment, the voices of her clanmates fell upon deaf ears, head pounding as she tried to extinguish the flames as quickly as they had come. She hardly noticed the blood that began to trickle from her nose, or the combination of smoke and copper that caused her to cough. In fact, she didn't think she wanted the flames to go away. Not yet. Not- Wait... What was she thinking?

"Suctus Incendia!" Feyre had managed to return to her senses, the incantation sliding from russet-colored lips as she sank to the ground, a bit exhausted. "Okay," She said suddenly, grinning from ear to ear at the three she had gathered with her overdramatic shrieks, "Maybe I'm not dying." She hoped that her smile was enough to cover up for the strange trance she had been in only seconds prior, absolutely captivated by the dancing flames, wanting to extinguish them, and yet, finding herself powerless to do so. That had been weird.

But in the grand scheme of things, Feyre supposed that her new body was a little weirder.

"The witches only body-jumped when using dark magic. I... I definitely wasn't doing that. Am I just... Supposed to be a wolf now?" She inquired aloud, large paws thumping against the ground in an off-metered rhythm. Chase her tail? Howl at the moon? She doubted that she'd want to go that far, but still... A violet gaze would steal a glance at the moon, that warm voice radiating in her head again. "It was that voice!" She suddenly exclaimed with clarity, "She did this to me!"
