RAIN DOWN || SOLBINDER TRY OUTS - rhosmari - 09-23-2018

MONROE
MALE — SUNHAVEN — HELION — HARD
Well, he said that he would start up this whole medical rank and he hoped that it would survive and thrive to help all of Sunhaven. After all the medicine guild didn't have a lot of traction and it had very little members within it as did much of the other guilds but the medical one seemed to have suffered the worse. He still thought that getting rid of the guilds had been a good idea with the stagnant way they had been progressing but he was also afraid that maybe he might have been wrong. A sigh left his muzzle as his bandaged body moved toward the green house, eyes shifting over the many plants that thrived in such moist conditions. He took care of them just as Jericho had when he had been a healer here. Watering them and making sure they had enough sunlight to thrive. He knew most of them but he hoped to train the new Solbinders of Sunhaven and then they would train their apprentices and so forth and so on. Flicking his finned tail he would turn his gaze back toward the village feeling better about this as the moments moved on. "Solbinder tryouts are in the greenhouse! Come on by if ya be interested!" With that he moved in to get set up, trying not to step on any of the vines that curled along the floor and ferns that brushed against his numbed flesh.

-- please state if your character is interested in becoming a solbinder. there will be two.

in a past life venus had been a renowned medic, their abilities leading the kitsune to be promoted the head of the medicine guild in their former group. replacing the man from which venus owed most, if not all, their skills and knowledge from. it was a touchy topic - these pockets of medical knowledge and his family's blood infecting venus' veins were all that was left of him in venus' life. even now, despite the fact that the silvery kitsune could no longer remember their former mentor's face, his gifts lived on as venus used them daily. in scientific studies, sometimes when venus was there to patch up an injured patient. long after his death.

apart from that, venus had sold a part of themselves for this knowledge, they were going to be damned if they at least didn't give the new solbinder rank a good shot. the rank also gave ample opportunity to get up close and personal with some interesting individual's health and physiology; always a plus in the kitsune's mind.

arriving at the helion's call, venus looked around at the currently barren field of no prospective solbinders. that was disappointing. as well as being a head in their field, venus had also mentored some fine medics - believing that teaching others was one of the best ways to learn a little something yourself. the silvery vulpine hoped that more people would be arriving soon.

One would have never thought of Leona to be the healer type. She was far to stubborn, reckless and prideful for it, right? Well, truth be told, she had been a healer previously, and as a human a paramedic. Along with this experience, her time in The Pitt had been an eye-opening... journey, so-to-speak. And not in the best of ways. But hadn't it been for that, she would not have met Blu.

The white feline approached and came to a sitting position, listening intently for words to be said. Leona wanted purpose, and to show that she wasn't a child. She wanted responsibility and to make a difference in both her life and the lives of others.

A flick of the tail and a nod of the head would be her greeting.

//interested!!

Re: RAIN DOWN || SOLBINDER TRY OUTS - CLEMENTINE P. - 09-29-2018

//Interested! Even if just a trainee c:

Clementine was admittedly young, having only reached what many would consider to be a trainee or an apprentice age. She also had a host of medical problems of her own to deal with, yet that didn't stop her from being interested in medicine. Perhaps it was because of her health issues that she had a greater need to learn it. Most of her life already had been spent in and out of medical dens and having yucky tasking medicines shoved down her throat trying to get her 'better' than what she was. She was no expert, but there was a least a level of familiarity, a penchant for knowledge.

Approaching slowly at the call, the little serval picked her way across the ground towards Venus, the only figure she rightly recognized. Her bright green eyes stared upwards, finding Monroe's gaze a little shyly, as much as she smiled brightly to him and shuffled her paws to sit comfortably. Clementine obviously realized it was foolish that she'd be fully promoted. Truth was, she wasn't really expecting it- she just wanted to learn, and this was a good chance to do it. Plus, the smell of the greenhouse was nice, the sharp smell of earth and a freshness in the air.

Her ears flickered as no one else spoke. Were they not supposed to say anything? Her wide gaze turned up to Venus briefly, considering the expression upon his face before she looked back, gently adjusting the green bow clipped by her ear. Maybe it was best to say nothing. A smile would have to do.

MONROE
MALE — SUNHAVEN — HELION — HARD
There were three and this was the most pleasing thing in his mind. The traction that the medicine guild had had slipped quite a deal so to see three willing to learn and become Solbinders made his heart feel better. Though he wasn't old he was coming up on three years of life and he allowed a soft sigh to leave his throat. Hmm, now was not the time to think about things like that and he allowed himself to sit straighter, firmer. The mutated feline greeted them with a closed lipped smile, forcing himself to be cheery for this occasion. Because it was something that deserved that. Wrapping his fin around his body he eyed each one that had arrived at the green house before he pushed a paw on the table. "Glad ya can make it. Now first thing is first. What is ya current state of knowledge? Since ya have come tae learn I figured some of ya might already know some things." It was a safe bet that they did and he pulled forth a golden yellow plant, a white flowering plant, some small black seeds, and a few different leaves. The lesson was going to start easy but slowly get harder as they progressed along. After all healing was serious business and he focused on that notion. It could be fun but when people were hurt was where the Solbinders would matter the most.

speaking too soon perhaps, venus let their gaze wander to the pair who arrived to the tryouts not too long after the silvery teen arrived themselves. that was promising at least, maybe sunhaven wasn't as screwed after all. but a moment of joy was tarnished by disappointment not long after.

the herb talk?

not to be too pretentious - even though venus was the embodiment of that - but if sunhaven was going to appoint the finest trained medics to successfully protect the group's health and wellbeing, then herbs would be the first place to start. which was exactly why the kitsune took distaste to the idea; if the solbinders were going to start with lesson one-oh-one then why were they here in the first place? but looking over to the small and inexperienced clementine, the idea made a little more sense. this wasn’t just a day for fully-fledged medics to rise to solbinders, it was also a taste for the youth - they would be the pair of solbinder’s apprentices. "monroe, if i may, could i suggest we also do some activities that are more practical and hands-on? i love the chemistry of plants, i could listen to someone talk about it for days, i really do. i just think you can get a better understanding of first aid in a kinetic manner, while learning best medicines for certain situations along the way. just a suggestion." talking out of place was something of the norm for venus, for worse and for worse really. there was no better. leadership was a social construct that the teen just didn't get, and if the kitsune wanted something to go their own way then you'd best believe venus was going to fight tooth and nail for it. "and, to answer your question, some things i guess." haughtily venus let their big mouth rest for a bit.

Leona carefully observed as Monroe set out herbs, giving a nod and listening intently. Light green-gray eyes blinked as she temporarily zoned out, and quickly shook her head to clear it as she spoke up after Venus.

"I'm actually a former paramedic and used to be a healer a few times. I have a bit of experience." The mutated feline offered, looking to the few gathered.
