false confidence - injured, joining - darci - 09-22-2018

[div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 60%; font-family: georgia; font-size: 13pt; text-align: justify;"]Blood came up when he coughed, his legs shaking with exhaustion. This was not good. He should have been dead. Was he dead? No, the pain that tingled through his body was too real. What had happened to him? His mind was foggy. The green-eyed doberman could remember standing over his unconscious brother, shielding him from the massive bear that towered over them. Scattered around him were the bodies of his packmates, all either dead or incapacitated. Rigel remembered using all of his remaining strength to launch himself at the bear, using his momentum to knock the bear off balance and send them both off the steep cliff of the mountain. He failed to recall much else. Rigel was unable to tell where he was, but he did not care at this point. Most of his ribs were shattered, internal bleeding evident with the darkening of his stomach. Both of his pupils were blown, a side effect of the raging concussion that forged a pounding migraine that hindered his vision. Rigel's legs shook, unable to hold his weight much longer. Hell bent on remaining on his feet, the male's eyes shifted up, the world before him shifting and rotating, dizziness overcoming him.

[align=center][div style="width: 60%; text-align: justify; font-size: 11pt; font-family: georgia;"]☣ — Salty air was never a good sign within the Pitt. While their clan did reside around ravages, the destruction was always a thrill, but sometimes never a welcome one. Especially when it came to one of their own (or soon to be). Heightened awareness caused him to come to his feet and wander off towards the situation. Soon enough he was approaching the scene soon enough with a confused and agonized expression, wondering what even happened to such a group. Another scent lingered. Sadly, it was masked by the thick smell of blood and Stryker could not point out a culprit.

There was not much else to do now but to help the injured. All but one were left alive, but he was left in rigid condition. Truthfully, Stryker thought that if he survived the outcome of these events, he would be living a damn well lucky life. No thought passed through him further as he aimed to come on the Doberman's side and hold him up with his much larger side for support. "Perhaps," he suggested calmly, "We should go somewhere else so you can sit down." 'Without being covered by the blood of your brothers...'

Cosette was next to show up to the scene, a frown forming on her face at the sight of the disheveled newcomer. She wasn't quite sure what had happened, only aware that he was badly hurt, even someone as uneducated as her could see that. Her eyes flicker up towards Stryker. She wanted to help, but felt useless as she stood off, watching with concern etched into her face. Finally she comes closer, tail sweeping behind her, anxiety twisting in her gut when she sees him even closer. Would he even make it?

The serval swallows, looks up at the other Pitt member. "Wh-what can I do to help?" she asks, not wanting to see him die on their watch. She could smell the scent of others clinging to him. It only made her feel worse, imagining that others had been injured as badly as him--or worse.

[div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 60%; font-family: georgia; font-size: 13pt; text-align: justify;"][ feel free to powerplay with him! ]

A low growl came from the injured dog as Stryker approached, unsure if he was here to help or to do harm. Trust did not come easy for Rigel. He was taught to be cautious of strangers, no matter what. Unlike him, his sister would have talked any stranger to death. As for his brother, well, the other male a tendency to be flirtatious. Sometimes he questioned how they were related. All Rigel to defend himself was growl, nothing more. Even so, his growl did not last no more than a few seconds, given his energy was at an all time low. Rigel tensed as the larger animal made contact with him, but slowly relaxed once he understood they were here to help. Leaning against the other, the full extent of exhaustion and defeat washed over him, his body going numb. It felt like he was swimming at the bottom of the ocean with rocks in his belly.

Green-hazel eyes shifted up ever so slightly, searching for the second individual who arrived. Rigel knew he would be okay and was at no immediate risk for harm. Even if a threat were to arise, he cold not do much anyway. He was more likely to die before he could land a bite.

BENNY G.
"at this point, ain't he just buzzardfood?" benny came to the other dweller with a frown on his maw, looking at the Dobermans rough state. jeez, it was painful just to look at. he couldn't imagine what sort of unbearable pain was surging through the canines body. initially the fox didn't really want to help, seeing it as useless waste of time. food. medicine. he might just die on them overnight anyhow if he couldn't make it through the significant drop of temperature.

nevertheless, his sliver of good morality prodded him until a long sigh drew from his lips. "cozy, wanna get some water to clean him up?" thank god for the abundance of cacti in the territory. "i'll get some'a those wax leaves and stryker, my pal, bring'im to camp or somethin' so we can get more paws to help." it was gonna be rough trying to save rigel, but if he fought through it to survive, he may just be one lucky son of a bitch.

[align=center][div style="text-align: justify; width: 55%; font-family: georgia; font-size: 11pt; letter-spacing: -1px; color: black"]Broken bodies, broken bones, the smell of blood in the air curling around him, luring him. His nose lifted up to the sky and he breathed in heavily of the scent, pupils constricting to pin prick points. It was undoubtedly canine in origin and he felt saliva gather at the corners of his muzzle. He hadn't had a good feed in a while and his body ached for it. But he knew better, after all these animals were his 'friends'. He couldn't turn on them and even if he could he wouldn't want to. It wouldn't be beneficial to his survival and he needed to have some in here that he could trust. Even as a slave he had deviated toward certain members like Quill and Melantha. Breathing in harshly the brute would turn his cranium in that direction, gaze shifting as his senses sharpened to figure out what was going on. He could see figures in the distance, though without detail but he knew someone was hurt and someone was bleeding. That was practically all that mattered to him. Licking his muzzle the large creature would move from where he stood, eyes of pink marble focusing on the ground before him. Perhaps he should bring things to fix him up with. Or at least to dull his pain a bit.

So he left his spot and rummaged through his things, gaze pensive as he debated over what to get. He had to take care of himself through the months when he was a slave, beaten and bruised. Skin stripped raw by teeth, claw, and whip. So this was trivial for him as he slipped from his musty room and made his way over to the scene. It seemed Stryker and the others were here and the doberman looked very much worse for wear. The aroma of blood so enticing tried to ensnare him and his throat bobbed in a harsh swallow before he slowly came a bit closer. At his chest hung a small bag and he breathed out harshly before he felt sharpened teeth behind closed lips with his tongue. It was going to be fine. Delving into his bag he would pull out a small container and the contents were smashed raspberry leaves and honey. A soothing and pain killing mixture that he gently attempted to put up to the harmed canine's mouth. "Eat it, we don't want you to be in pain on the way back..."

She smiles softly at Benny's arrival, briefly distracted from the injured doberman now under their care. His question dampened her a bit, though, amber eyes flicking back towards Rigel. He would live if she had any say in it. She didn't know anything about him, but that just meant she had no reason to just let him die. They could at least make an attempt, be able to say they tried.

Brightening up slightly, Cosette nods at his offer, trying to ignore the flutter in her stomach at the nickname. She had to focus. "We'll try and be quick," she says towards Stryker and the others before hurrying away to find some cactus, making sure the fox was following.

Re: false confidence - injured, joining - Stryker - 09-23-2018

[align=center][div style="width: 60%; text-align: justify; font-size: 11pt; font-family: georgia;"]☣ —  Truly, he ignored the growl. The lion knew there was nothing going to be done to him with this helpless fool. So he proceeded. Feeling the other give up one he received Stryker's support, he attempted to lower himself so he could prevent the canine from falling to the ground. Nevertheless, he kept trying to push the defeated stranger forward and away from the destruction in their path. As the others arrived, the male spoke quietly.

Slowly moving on, the lion's neon gaze turned towards the smaller female. At least someone was helpful around here. "Cosette," he calmly mentioned, "Please grab someone with medical knowledge, preferably Esklav if he's not busy." Truly, the Slaver had no knowledge of who was proficient in those tactics here. His job was to slash and dash, not heal and feel. Meanwhile, his attention shifted to Quill. "How about getting on the other side of this one and helpin' me out here, wolfy?" It was either helping the male walk or carrying the stranger on their backs. Stryker preferred the less painful way, but if this one decided to pass out, they'd be doomed to carry the piece of shit all the way back to camp.

With a huff, he carried on. Benny's comments were informative and showed he had plenty of knowledge, something they really needed right now. Perhaps they didn't need Esklav. "A'ight, I can do that, chap," he responded. Nevertheless, another willing soul arrived. The lion stopped in his tracks as Valkyr offered his herbs for the canine, hoping that he would take them.
