FRAGILE FOOTSTEPS (open, return from the Pitt) - MirrorEdge - 09-20-2018

It probably wouldn't be much of a surprise to those who had seen Thea leave, for her to come back at the end of the day, bloodied and bruised, and reeking of the Pitt, clumsily landing on the beach of the Ascendents, her paw kept tucked close to her chest as she did so. The agony from a few hours ago had become more of a very painful throbbing, teetering on the edge of unbearable each time it was jostled, as the delicate bones that had been broken shifted this way and that with every movement she made.

The scent of the warbound group mixed with Thea's was probably going to attract somebody soon, but she was far too busy trying to grasp what happened, the little voices and their words clashing with her beliefs once again.

LEAVE. We aren't finished with our toy. Toy? Was that all she was? A toy? No, these voices were her friends. Thea must've misheard. After all, they were what led her to become strong, to try her hardest to condemn Bucky to a life of misery and suffering. They wouldn't do that to her. Yet the words from earlier nagged at Thea, who finally folded in the wings on her back, choosing not to focus on such unnecessary thoughts for now, and calling, "Hey, guys! I'm back! Uh, anybody know where Peri or Moon are? 'Cause I think I need their help." She probably looked unfamiliar in this body, but she was a bit worried that if she shifted back to her leopard form, that it would mess up her paw more, as she knew well enough most, if not all, of her injuries and scars carried over from body to body.

Re: FRAGILE FOOTSTEPS (open, return from the Pitt) - imperia - 09-20-2018

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 9.5pt; line-height: 1.4;letter-spacing:.1px"]As Imperia awakens to golden sunlight streaming through the windows of her humble stone cottage, something fills her with urgency--an internal alarm blaring, alerting her to an emergency that she has yet to encounter. Once upon a time, the phenomenon bewildered the young healer. She grew accustomed to it long ago, however, for she knows that in this manner, the Maker guides her to people who need her. Such is the manner of their relationship. Through her piety, Imperia has proved that she is willing to serve her goddess and so the Maker utilizes her to affect the world in a way a god cannot."Grâce à la Créatrice," murmurs the she-wolf as she rises from her bed. Imperia bathes herself in rose-scented water, dons her dove pendant, and secures her medic satchel across her torso before exiting out onto the plains.

Where she walks, Imperia does not know. An invisible string tugs the cleric in the direction she needs to go. No thought involved, only obeying divine guidance with the practiced patience of a devoted follower. As she draws closer to her destination, the winds shifts. The last of the light-hearted summer breezes, it tugs playfully at her fur; bringing with it the scent of blood and the Pitt.

"Do not fret," assures a soothing voice. "I am here, ma chérie." Trembling grasses pale as glittering gold part to reveal the slender figure of Imperia. A faint floral aroma accompanies her presence, contributing to her angelic appearance: gentle sterling eyes like that of a doll, a sweet smile, silky silver fur. The cleric does not bother to question Thea's identity--she recognizes the youth's aura, troubled and dark though it is.

Sagacious argentine eyes sweep over Thea's battered figure, taking mental inventory of the (visible) injuries. Cuts, bruises, wounded shoulder, broken paw... "Trouble finds you wherever you go," muses the older female as she settles beside Thea, a faint smile tugging at her lips. Peri does not ask what happened. She does not question the circumstance. She simply produces the necessary tools from her satchel and begins to prepare a splint for the youth's broken paw. "Are you okay without a painkiller for now? I would like to keep you coherent until I can get you back to the cleric's hide, but I can patch up for paw for now." She prefers to avoid distributing poppy seeds if she can, for she does not believe in encouraging a reliance on the herb. If one is not careful, they can become addicted to its effects. Plus Thea is still young and Poppy might harm her in ways that it does not harm an adult.

Re: FRAGILE FOOTSTEPS (open, return from the Pitt) - MirrorEdge - 09-20-2018

Thea offered Imperia a grin as she approached, the young Fireball hobbling forward a few more feet before stopping, the wings she had been using to carefully balance herself to avoid falling over now folding in, the pale gold ends of her wings now folding, a few of the feathers having been ripped out, but otherwise, they had been fine. Thank goodness. Otherwise she would've had a more difficult time getting home.

The young dragon winced as she held out the broken paw, the pain that had dulled shooting through her front leg, as sharp as it had been before. "Yeah, I don't mind. I'm fine." Smile, it'll be alright. It had been awhile since she'd actually thought of that, actually, since smiling was now almost a second nature to Thea, a bit like breathing or blinking.

Pupiless eyes settle on Imperia for a few moments, tempted to ask if she thought that Thea was a toy, but chose not to. It was obvious Thea was simply mishearing things from her friends. "I tried to get Oni back, though. Since the Pitt took him." 'Cause why let them kill him when I could? And in a fair fight, too.

Re: FRAGILE FOOTSTEPS (open, return from the Pitt) - MOONMADE - 09-20-2018

[size=9pt]As much as Moon hated Oni, and as much as he, sometimes, hated Thea, too, he hated the Pitt more. It was game of who was currently pissing him off more. And the two Fireballs lost in the face of those cruel, smug assholes. At least for now. Oni was proving to be pretty skilled at turning the tables.

"I'll get him back." He said. He was full sure of it, a statement made neither with hesitation nor empty promises. As soon as he spoke it into existence, he decided it was something he'd make happen. All he had to do now was trek the ugly path towards the desert dwelling bastards. "For now, you good? Gonna' have to start putting a leash on you, Thea. You're gonna' end up getting served up on someone's Grandma's fancy china.
