NATIONAL ANTHEM || ANNOUNCEMENT - rhosmari - 09-17-2018 MONROE MALE — SUNHAVEN — HELION — HARD He'd been like this for a while now, numb to the world around him. Skin cold to the touch and he didn't know when it would reverse and he would be...normal again. Or whatever semblance of normal he had to begin with. His breath always left his muzzle in a puff of cold smoke that drifted down to the ground. He felt nothing against his skin but a strange tingling sensation whenever someone touched him and now he was much tired than he was before. Though there was no pain from the three gashes that had been cut into his sides but he had managed to get them bandaged up despite that. Still he was reeling from what had happened and for a second time he was hurt, hurt trying to be political, hurt trying to be nice and understanding. Harmed because he was not vicious like the rest of them. The idea alone unnerved him that when he tried to be on the right scale of the morale code it back slapped him in the face. What sort of leader was he when he couldn't protect himself? When he couldn't protect those he cared about? When time and time again his own actions caused others and himself to be put in danger. He didn't even realize the gritting of his jaw until he slammed his own paw against the ground causing eyes to shoot across the floor of his own him. A held breath escaped him and he stumbled forward, vision blurring for a moment. He needed to get out there and tell his haveners, warn them. But everything was so difficult. He sluggishly pushed himself forward and shoved his way out of his home. Numbed limbs moved near the fountain but he never got there, energy just too depleted to make it and so he sat down and curled his tail around his paws. He felt stiff and he looked around before speaking up. "Sunhaveners! I have an announcement tae make!" For a moment he waited, allowing his ears to pull back against his skulls before he breathed in slowly. "Not tae long ago a raptor came ontae our territory. It killed one of our members and I managed tae retrain it. A typhooner by the name of Owen showed up and he said the beast was feral and that we shouldn't be walking alone if we didn't want tae be attacked. He wasn't an ounce apologetic for that thing killing one of us. Even wanted tae take the corpse back and let his thing eat it. Bucky and I made 'em leave." His head had started swimming from talking so much and he swallowed thickly before he forced himself to continue on. "I...arranged for Bucky, Pierce, and myself tae go tae the Typhoon tae discuss the situation. It didn't go well... Owen showed up and he ain't have one but two of them raptors. They attacked us and only one Typhooner had the decency tae try and stop tae help us. Pincher didn't..." He felt his tongue go dry for a moment and he squeezed back the image of the raptor lunging at him, of claws sinking into his flesh. Of Stryker. "We ain't friends with the Typhoon. They don't care about their neutrals and we ain't gonna care about them. No trading no nothin'. I don't want anyone to go alone on the territory so if ya need tae do something take a buddy please.... It's trouble enough with them siking raptors on us..." Re: NATIONAL ANTHEM || ANNOUNCEMENT - GORDON CIPHER. - 09-17-2018 Gordon had been nervously waiting for Monroe's announcement regarding what happened during his, Bucky's, and Pierce's visit to The Typhoon. The three of them came back injured and Monroe said he would announce something later and Gordon anxiously waited for the shark hybrid to call a meeting. Once he did, she quickly made her way over and stared at him with huge, worried eyes. "N-noted," The Dawnguard squeaked out. She didn't mind the buddy system at all; in fact, she really liked it. What worried her was the fact that The Typhoon didn't seem to care about what their members did. Although that really shouldn't be much of a surprise to her, considering she knew her father lived there, but still... she thought they were different than him, but it seemed not. That was horrifying and quite worrisome in the little she-cat's mind.

Despite not having many friends or any real family in Sunhaven, he had grown attached to the place itself, to his position and responsibilities, and the threat that was the Typhoon - namely Owen’s utahraptors - was rather eminent. Monroe and that other Sunhavener had already gotten hurt- who was to say they wouldn’t come back and cause even more damage? They needed to do something, to ensure their place of safety and peace, to prove that, though kindly, they were still a force to be reckoned with, and clearly, words didn’t work on those people. Drawn over by Monroe’s call, Pierce halted before him, lips pressed into a thin line. He was quiet as the Helion spoke, though his amber gaze was cold, freckled features flat. Once the other finished, he cleared his throat, speaking up over the murmuring of the crowd, "Are we gonna be doing anything to actually deal with them, though, Monroe? And should we chase them off if any of them show up at the border?" They were legitimate questions, weren’t they? He thought they should be a little more defensive than Monroe was suggesting - and this was coming from the pacifist Pierce -, but he also didn’t want to endanger anyone in that process. Re: NATIONAL ANTHEM || ANNOUNCEMENT - toboggan - 09-18-2018 Conflict was an extremely controversial conflict for Wendell, hence the wolverine knew diddly-squat about current politics and events. It was impossible to live life nowadays without some anti-christ wannabe rummaging through others’ things and taking people’s lives. Why couldn’t people embrace harmony? Why was it so damn hard to have half the decency to comprehend that life is better when you’re free of worry? A factor in him being so quiet around here was because of the drama, though bantam, he had with this place in the past. However, with fucking dinosaurs running wild now, he’d have to get involved at some point, whether others recognize him for it or not.
The Typhoon. What a bad name. From his understanding, a typhoon was a tropical storm from the pacific, yet they are more of an annoyance over threat - that is, until deadly reptiles became involved. If there’s a person in that group who’s consciously allowing pets to come onto Sunhaven’s turf and kill people, those overgrown lizards had to be put down, as Wendell sure as hell wasn’t going to start living in fear of dying again. His brows furrowed at the sheer thought of it. That’s what became of his previous habitat, and he did not want Sunhaven to fall under the same category. "That’s all, then?" he’d murmur with a tone of disappointment. No justice, no nothing? He’d guess Owen would get his comeuppance in sweet time, but until then, it was stay in camp or leave with a buddy. Not satisfactory, to put it lightly. Re: NATIONAL ANTHEM || ANNOUNCEMENT - buckingham barnes - 09-18-2018
Bucky was quite pissed at how their visit went down at the Typhoon border. He already was upset about the first raptor eating a clanmate, and that Owen guy acting like an idiot, but it just got worse from there! They went over to discuss what happened with Pincher, and before Pincher could even comment, it went down to shit! Owen started to defend his 'precious' children, and two raptors showed up! The utahraptors attacked them, proving that Owen doesn't have them under control- they even tried to attack a Typhooner. Owen was just as insane as his children, and Bucky didn't like how he was babbling back to the raptors- as if he was having a conversation with them. The former assassin slipped into the scene, paws barely making a sound as he padded over after Wendell. He looked over towards Monroe, as his ears pricked up to listen. Now that it's recommended to go out into the territory with a buddy, and that they have no clue if another attack will happen, it'd probably be best if there's a self defense class soon. Bucky was planning to host one, and now it seemed like a perfect time for it. Bucky wasn't real sure how well his clanmates can defend themselves against a utahraptor- Buckingham knew that he'd die if a raptor went after him. He's way too small to fight one off, and they can practically bite him in half if they tried. But self defense would probably put some ease on his clanmates minds, it's better than doing nothing in this situation. He nodded as Monroe finishing speaking, glancing over at Pierce as he asked the Helion questions. Re: NATIONAL ANTHEM || ANNOUNCEMENT - miss ririchiyo - 09-18-2018 coma baby PERSEPHONE — FEMME — SUNHAVEN — DAWNGUARD — 7 M/O "Raptors? Well, well. Seems like the guy has some nice pets." Persephone's voice spoke up as she walked over, her tail waving side to side. The dawnguard was anxious to fight these things. Maybe she could have raptortail for dinner? Hmm. "Understood, sir." SUNHAVEN FEMALE BORDER COLLIE MEDIUM DIFFICULTY PLAYED BY KICKSIE The moment that Bex had seen Monroe, Bucky and Pierce rush back into Sunhaven after confronting the Typhoon about the raptor attack was the moment that she knew something was seriously wrong. Having expected to hear this being announced, the canine bounded up quickly to hear what their stance on the Typhoon would now be. And honestly, she couldn't agree more. Bex was friendly and liked to give others a chance. She got along with mostly everyone, but as soon as someone messed with what was valuable to her, she wasn't hesitant to take a disliking to that someone. Sunhaven was beginning to hold an important place in her life now. Sure, she still didn't know everyone too well, but it was her home. And no one messes with her home.

"Got it," The collie agreed with a nod of understanding, frowning. Monroe still didn't look too good. Bex was still a bit worried about the whole situation, but didn't say anything about it. Surely he'll be fine soon, she thought to herself, letting out a deep sigh. She didn't like to see others hurt, and well, she sure hoped that nobody else here would get attacked by one of those raptors. Re: NATIONAL ANTHEM || ANNOUNCEMENT - rhosmari - 09-19-2018 MONROE MALE — SUNHAVEN — HELION — HARD He hated the fact that they would become mice in their own lands but he had to protect them right. The raptors were not invincible and they were just feral creatures, easily tried by minds smarter than theirs. He frowned a bit as he looked over to Pierce, eyes shifting for a moment before he gave a light nod of his head to the male. "Yes, we ain't gonna welcome them here so if they are caught on our border we drive them away. I don't care if they don't set foot on our lands they ain't welcomed. We will also be making a barricade along the mountain range in key areas with gates tae have a safety buffer. Big enough that they can't just waltz in without tryin real hard." He was sure that that would help to thwart any would be attackers who might try to get in. If they wanted to get in they'd have to swim the fjord. Or come by sea. Sparrow had no concern for Monroe, nor the situation between Sunhaven and The Typhoon- he thirsted for a fight, and by the injuries sustained by this group's leader, perhaps they would be opponents worthy of his attention. Raptors. He would have to investigate further, study his potential opponents. A man named Owen and two raptors. Did they rely on numbers? Were they intelligent, or did they fight with brute strength alone? Sparrow was eager to learn how they might fare against his sword- it wouldn't do if they proved to be far less formidable than he hoped. He ached for adrenaline and the thump of his heart in the midst of a proper fight. Feral would be interesting. An advantage or drawback for the raptors? For Sparrow, that only meant he could fight dirty. INFORMATION |
