it's the fire it ignites | BABY FIGHT CLUB #1 - BASTILLEPAW - 09-16-2018

BASTILLEPRISONER AURELIUS

Well, he had promised additional lessons once Oni was more or less healed and he and Thea had stopped being little shits for approximately two seconds. Of course, he'd neglected to note that said lessons were in reality designed for all of their Fireballs at hand. Whatever. They had less mentors than they did excitable children, and he had always been a firm believer that group training worked better than Fireball on Observer sessions; it was easier to match skill and sizes when they were all the same age, and the added boost of competition tended to yield good results. Say what you will about Bastille's methods, but at least he had actually thought about it before had.

"Alright, someone go round up the Fireballs," he called from the center of the Observatory, yawning idly. "Get them out by the Fields; we're doing some extra training. Thea, Oni, that's mandatory to you, and strongly advised for everyone else." Read as: Bastille would probably make the rest of them participate in some form or another anyways. He paused for a moment before heading out himself, to where he'd planned their little competition for the day. He supposed he may as well wait for signs of life before he started rattling off the intentions of the "lessons". Clear was it he lacked in way of physical strength and endurance, small even for one his age and at a weight many might view as malnourished, little fat and muscle upon him clinging to the shape of bone. His state was less out of minimal appetite or food consumption, rather the contrary he enjoyed a wide range of foods though his taste were more vegetation based, but his ignorance to the pain, curling in his stomach, dragging claws along the lining until it seemed to tear through. He had grown accustomed to it, took the pain and hide it though time wore at him, picking away at thinning determination until it seemed little more than a frayed string, barely clinging as he struggled to plaster on a smile. The call rose, tone given no room for argument though none would come from him as it might from others, faint sound escaping dark lips. Just within the open doors Har looked upon Bast with wide eyes, unsure on how to react to his words. His decree of it being mandatory for Oni and Thea gave brief pause, the two amongst the very small few that left him unsure, in some regards almost terrified, but curiosity won out over it. Turning upon the balls of his paws he took a quick pace, following behind the Seraph as closely as he could, though a few times he lagged behind some, short legs unable to match the pace of the other all that well. It really wasn't quite necessary to make it mandatory for Thea. She knew well enough what this meant. A chance to fight, and she was quick to materialize, a bright grin on her face. "Can I be paired up with Oni, please? He's been wanting a rematch." Okay, so that was not Oni's exact words, but that was what Thea had gotten from them. Pale blue eyes settled on the other Fireballs, encouraging them to speak up and say they wanted to fight.
It took very little to convince Thea that somebody was challenging her, whether they were or not, and it was clear by her fidgeting she was quite excited, and that it was highly likely that, as usual, she would take things too far.

♦ - "Haaah? Are you fuckin' kidding me? I have to train with the hyper-active twat?" Onision growled as he walked over, his single blue eye sparkling with anger. What the fuck does he mean mandatory? Oni wanted to train with Bastille alone. He was his mentor, not Thea's or anyone elses. "Does that mean I can go for a round with Thot-ea?" He asked Bast in unison with Thea, a grin on his face. His obvious disliking for Thea ran heavily through him, and Onision tipped his head to Harland in a gentle greeting that felt and looked like a shift in attitude. His pawsteps were slow, but Onision's affectionate nuzzle against the younger kid's head was purposeful. "Are you feeling okay today, Har?" He asked softly, distracted by the whole 'protect the children' side of him. Speaking of Fireballs, where was Alex at? His boyfriend would surely come to this "mandatory training", wouldn't he? Speak of the devil. He was too old for this, even though he very much wasn't at the same time. It should have been no secret by now that Alex was not a fighter, and was not one to jump on an opportunity to fight with the fellow Fireballs and get his ass kicked by any one of them. That didn't mean he couldn't, it just took a very particular situation to get him up and running. Though, maybe brushing up on some skills wouldn't be bad. Alex followed behind the Seraph as well, occasionally stopping to make sure Harland didn't fall behind, worried about if the smaller Ascendant could manage whatever the hell Bastille had planned. Not that he would say that out loud, that might upset him. Thea's words made the dark furred Fireball squint slightly as he chewed on the inside of his cheek. He couldn't help but remember the last fight the two had, and a sense of protectiveness and bitterness welled up in his chest. Oni could handle himself, and most certainly didn't care about injury as much as Alex did. Which was absolutely ridiculous in his own opinion, Onision was going to get himself killed one of these days. "If you're going to have a rematch, do not take it too far again. You just got out of trouble." Now that was a bullshit reason. He didn't particularly care if Thea was on probation or not, he was just scared of any of the various outcomes should she lose it again.

She's bigger than all of the current apprentices here, and she doesn't have the ability to take another form to put herself on a more even playing field that she would like to do if they were to fight. After all, she was here to get better like she had been told that she had to do - fighting opponents she could easily beat wouldn't solve that. Perhaps she could ask to fight two at once? That should do something to even up the odds. She is of a different opinion than Alexander though. If they were going to fight, then they should do their utmost to fight properly, claws and fangs and blood and all. How else were they supposed to learn to avoid things that were going to hurt them if they were always holding back? No holding back in a fight. That being said, she doesn't know anyone here, so she keeps her mouth shut and watches. She's always watching. Re: it's the fire it ignites | BABY FIGHT CLUB #1 - Feyre - 09-17-2018 ☽ ☽ ☽
Feyre didn't want to be here. She had been in the middle of drawing a complicated sigil in her grimoire when some NPC had found her, absolutely insisting that her presence was necessary for whatever little stunt Bast was planning. A barely contained huff had fallen from speckled lips as she cast her work aside and gave in to the stranger's pleas, making sure to glare at him the entire time he led her from her chambers to the Seraph. While she knew that she'd have plenty of time to draw symbols with an affinity for summoning the dead, she was still peeved by her sudden disturbance. She was really getting somewhere with her findings! Why did Bast have to decide to hold a massive Fireball meeting now, of all times? "Can I go back now? What's this about?" She inquired flatly, a plumed tail lashing in the absent air behind her. She hadn't yet put together the pieces that this was a training exercise of sorts, but realized rather quickly that the presence of all the Fireballs also meant the presence of one, nasty one in particular: Brynhild. She'd stay just to beat her in every activity that they were forced to do, maybe even trying her hand at setting the other girl on fire if she could. Such would make this rather unfavorable event all the more better. /ha i'm exhausted this post is a mess |
