Into The Great Beyond;; Exploration;; Talyn - Jiyu Simul Stamus - 09-15-2018 When most animals explored? Their hearts beat swiftly and excitement filled their body, making it a positive experience that caused them to seek broader horizons across life. Creatures running through the woods looking for any new tree to look into missed the large birds of prey that perched in the tree's above. Those who sprinted around alongside rivers looking for lakes and oceans missed the sharks and crocodiles beneath the surface. Bounding travel through cavern systems desperately searching for the next interesting thing, entirely ignored whatever was lurking within the shadows waiting to strike at anyone. Each and every time, regardless of the biome or circumstance that story repeated itself. Whenever someone looked at the world with excitement something was always missed and generally, the missed object was something of an immense danger. The Roseblood could not afford to have something essential missing in these evaluations, not when everyone was so vulnerable. Her heart had never really gotten that chance, and she wasn't nearly so rash. Mismatched optics looked over at Talyn, recalling the relaxed actions of himself and his brother the night of the fire and how they had been calm since. While they were not the same as her, not broken until the point they were not capable of anything besides that eerie calmness? The fact they could manage it so flawlessly so far was something to be admired. "Talyn." she uttered the males name as they walked down a path that didn't even exist, the first ones forging it for their return trip and everyone who they'd bring next time they walked this road. "Does everything truly bother you little as it appears, what do you feel regarding this trip." it was an odd question, but it was just one she had to ask to make sure of how impartial and reliable he could be as they went through this. Anything that could impair their judgment on this trip? Had be weeded out carefully because they had a whole group relying on them to make sure this trip and the destination was safe! The workaholic, duty-bound calico, was not about to fail anyone, not after all this time. So they kept going, towards the desert. Ghost this was going to be a fun trip, considering how thick her pelt was, a portion of her black hair tuft falling over one of her eyes once more and remaining there as she didn't care to move it.

Talyn despite his shared amnesiac problem with Rizer on just who they were before the deal was struck and they became mortal forms of abstract yet eldritch beings of concepts - his dark fire colouring hiding a beast of jagged sword edges bleeding ichor and the scent of iron blood in ashlands of cinders, a cunning mind with a weaponized form - for thats what an indoraptor had been designed to be in a way, take two top predators and merge until a new strain came about no? of course he pushed away these thoughts as they two continued onwards - forging the path set for them by Prestige into the great unknowns of where they would now live after the devastation had caught the last home and perhaps he and Rizer had been an omen of that - two heralds of the end showing up before a ruinous fire? a coincidence perhaps. his head turns towards her at the call of his name, his smaller companion - but he knows her to be capable, the fire had shown that - molten eyes blink as he hops forwards upon teh rocks to look across where they will be heading next. "no - but then I had not long to grow attached to our last home" he muses, gaze flickering to the horizon and back, hot breath whistling between monstrous teeth "and I have little memory to be phased by" he cannot remember if any past experience would influence him to freeze up in a scenario or find a hot tempered rage - their are fleeting touches, phantoms on his mind but, nothing solid. and yet, war the beast, the creature, the eldritch idea knows far too much to fill in the gaps - less so than his 'brother' who peers beyond the veil of death t even further - but he knows the blood winding around bone, the steel in spirit as well as in blade. hm, perhaps his viewpoint is warped, truthfully. "for this trip however? anticipation - for what we find - and" he pauses considering "worry, that we won't find a place that finds all the requirements" that would be unfortunate - and despite his brief stay so far, he is - not fond, not yet - but he likes them, these rosebloods. Re: Into The Great Beyond;; Exploration;; Talyn - Jiyu Simul Stamus - 09-18-2018 The sun was rising further into the sky, slowly becoming their first danger that she was unaware of. Even well traveled as she was? Jiyu had never traversed a true desert before, she had no reason to in the past, especially not a large one. However, for now, the long-haired feline remained unaware of the risk about to be placed onto her as they traveled. Talyn was honest, something the calico valued as it made working easier when someone didn't hide things behind a thin veil she had no care to look behind. Inquiring too deep into someone? Would let them know she actually gave a damn how they were feeling, which she didn't of course, she was just fine like this. "Don't be anxious, I will not fail them. If we don't find somewhere already perfect, I'll pick the best one and fight anything I have to, as many times as necessary, as long as I need to, in order to keep them safe." Deborah had been her only failure, she was not about to let anything or anyone add to her list, she needed to succeed to be worth anything because she certainly wasn't able to be there for anything besides protection. Her blood was roses, and that would never change, nothing could make her betray them, even if it meant betraying herself, she was already worthless without them anyway, purposeless. Walking forward, they eventually did come to the desert, the sun hanging high in the sky as they started that trek. Roughly an hour had passed since they entered the landscape, and already one thing was clear, Jiyu's body was not suited to it. Even if she remained stoic as always? The sand grew wet from her sweaty paw prints, and every other creature they had seen since entry seemed to have some sort of adaptation for the heat burning. The calico? Had nothing, if anything her long pelt, damaged ear, long tail, and other traits, were a disadvantage here. Re: Into The Great Beyond;; Exploration;; Talyn - Luciferr - 09-20-2018

he wasn't aware of much that he might remember, only bare flashes at best outside the muscle memory of a strange language and half remembered knowledge that his last name had been important - somewhere. but he knew he'd traversed a desert before, or his mind remembered the feeling at least - the coarse sand and the beating down sun, somewhat glad that his species seemed well equipped for such a climate even with his naturally warm aura that now seemed to mingle and blend with the hot air already. he listened as she spoke and found he admired the Calico's spirit and will - a strong resolve and dedication to her comrades, War approved - and found himself nodding in agreement, this was a sentiment intrinsic to his own life though for so long it had been only 2 of four. but he wasn't ignorant - for all the strongest wills in the world, the sun was an uncontested enemy - and Talyn's gait slowed as he turned to her "It is nearing midday - it would be wise to find shade and rest for awhile" his head swivelled to teh far horizon and back a small frown creasing those saurian features "to exhaust ourselves needlessly so quickly would be detrimental to our companions chances" this is true, the midday sun will be the heat death of the calico at this rate - though he could understand wishing to go on despite ones own limits, it was better to know to stop - but he avoided pointing out her state, simply showing facts - and to keep themselves rested and refreshed would make the journey easier in the long run. Re: Into The Great Beyond;; Exploration;; Talyn - Jiyu Simul Stamus - 09-27-2018 Talyn was right about one thing with no doubt, directly bringing up Jiyu being in over her head about something was an activity that often did not end well. The strive to make sure she could complete her purpose drove the guard to constantly push herself hard, if someone gave her the idea she wasn't getting far enough chances were that she would push harder instead of resting. Determination like hers for the selfish sake of other's, had a cost, often the cost was all of the animal who possessed it even if they believed their own motives selfish like she did. Facts were something she could deal with being brought up, mismatched eyes flicking to him as she nodded slightly with his words. For once, her heart beat and breathing could be heard and her steps were not ghostly though everything about her was still too quiet, she wasn't almost completely silent due to the influance of the sun over her body. "It looks like there are some structures over that way." she nodded towards the right of them slightly, changing her direction to pad to the 'ruins' of sorts, numerous builds simply destoryed for the most part. After a brief search she was able to find one large enough to shelter both of them. "Be careful, don't brush against it coming in, there's no telling how stable the entry way is." considering it was a building where the front had caved in such a way where there was a hole just large enough for the two of them. Jiyu didn't want to rish that hole being unstable enough to collapse on them, but the location would be safe for the time being once inside.

Talyn was often a blunt creature but he knew a pride a warrior carried and this is what had stayed him from being blunt on her weakness to the sun - one that would perhaps be mitigated if her kind shed and grew a coat built more for the area but that would have to yet be seen. and in this instance, her pride would only hurt her n such a case and his words could stay behind his teeth for it wouldn't endanger the whole to suffer not saying those wrds - so the raptoric beast merely stayed impassive on the subject and nodded at her words peering at the structure ahead. "I will take all due caution" he assured, for such a large creature, his capacity to twist, near become light on his feet and capable of not brushing the edges was almost fluid in grace as the Indo took the initiative first step and carefully stepped under - keeping his tread light yet even weighted so no loose rubble would crumble away. this went on for some minutes until he'd made sure the structure was stable enough - pausing whenever anything seemed to move - before he nodded to himself calling back up "it's safe" and moving further in a tad - there was a faint trickling in the back - perhaps a small water source from a broken and leaking crevice? that would be something. Re: Into The Great Beyond;; Exploration;; Talyn - Jiyu Simul Stamus - 09-30-2018 She couldn't even really call herself a warrior, such animals had honor she lacked, would never dream of doing half of what she had done in her lifetime. Of course, she had never dreamed of her sins, the calico was just left with no other choice at a certain point and once she'd been submerged she didn't know any other way. The darkness of the interior would be 'comforting' if she had enough emotion left for that. Yet, she only felt the same static emptiness she'd live with for so long now, there was no point trying to feel because the pain that could result would never be worth it. When someone had her history and lost almost everything, it was so easy to forget the reasons she had once been even minorly upset about her inability to really feel what they felt or properly react to it. "We'll start out again when the sun starts to fall." there was a partially caved in window, too small for them to fit through, but large enough to let some light sparkle down, meaning they could see when the light started to fade. Her damaged ear flicked subtly at the sound of the water, glancing at him. Would the raptor deem the trickle enough to investigate, it didn't sound even close to large enough to sustain prey nor rose. Re: Into The Great Beyond;; Exploration;; Talyn - Luciferr - 10-16-2018

honor didn't make a warrior, it helped distinguish them but a warrior was a fighter or a survivor or near any numerous things in his eye. still he nodded agreeing before he glanced back down into the darker depths where the sound came from, glancing back to hike a brow "it may be a water source - wouldn't do to dehydrate ourselves if we can help it" a sickle claw tapped the underfoot slabs "and wheres theirs water there is usually life - perhaps even another discovery" like a way out into another area, who knows what might be discovered here.
