THE GHOST OF YOU // DOUBLE-JOINING - AUBIN - 09-13-2018 [align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-size: 9.4pt; line-height: 1.4;"]//please wait for Theo! Aubin was poor company right now, and if it weren't for the fact that he and Theo were bound together from a very young age, he'd have been alone. Hell, he'd have been alone a long time before this, but Theo was a product of an incredibly antiquated family tradition of forcing one person into eternal guardianship of another, regardless of what either actually wanted. Especially when Theo hadn't even been intended for the role of chevalier, but it was an old, familiar weight. Lisette, on the other hand, was not, and he hadn't managed to scrub the image of her fading eyes from his mind, or the procession that carried her body into the tombs. She- she hadn't been his choice, originally, arranged by his parents because of another old agreement between families, but he would have chosen her. Aubin hadn't been able to tell her that before the end, as with many other things. She probably knew anyway. The lion shifted his shoulders uncomfortably, paws sinking into sand that he found he hated. The circlet was more leaden than usual, and if he were to remove it, he wouldn't be surprised to find his fur pressed irreparably in the same shape. Fuck, but he wanted to take it off. He wasn't anyone important, especially out here. Back home, he was the fourth-born, inheriting little more than the name and a bit of influence. Here, he was just a lion with a smaller shadow and fancy jewelry. Nothing special. Sometimes he wished he'd been born that way, too, but then he'd have never met Theo or Lisette. The former was more involuntary than the latter, though regardless of the circumstances of their meeting, Theo was still the only friend Aubin had. Forced or not. "Matou, gar ici. Mais, jamais d'la vie! What the fuck is that?"[sup]1[/sup] / 1. Come look, tomcat. Well, never in my life! Re: THE GHOST OF YOU // DOUBLE-JOINING - THERON - 09-13-2018 [align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 9.5pt; line-height: 1.4;letter-spacing:.1px"]Theo isn't too fond of the idea of bound or forcing. At the end of the day, it was life. Whatever his role in that life may be, as he was told by... whoever, really, his fate was ultimately in his own control. He could probably blame the fact that he wasn't raised into this as the reason he sees things differently — out here, at least, there wasn't much stopping him from leaving Aubin to the wolves. Yet he doesn't consider that, or anything else that would put him in trouble. The attachment between them is quiet, and to the larger of the pair, it feels more like a leash than he'd like it to be, but he's not ready to abandon it now. Particularly not after the loss he'd experienced. Theo had never been close to Lisette, or much of anyone Aubin was close to, for that matter. The perpetual third wheel, just there to keep him safe. He's really not as bitter about it as he sounds. Besides, it was an adventure. Wandering around with him was pleasant, despite the reason for it. He gets to stretch, see more of the world. He had been young (younger; a child) when this had started — had to deal with all sorts of bullshit from everyone. Too young, not trained, prove it, it was always about proving it. And he had. He was two years old now and sure of himself, with scars down his back and a bounce in his step. It's still all about following, and in that sense, the lion is content. He picks up the pace a little when he realizes that he's been lost in thought, tail flicking behind him as leaps forward. For a moment, he's almost at the other's shoulder. Theo glances up with a sort of curiosity, peach eyes slipping over his expression and to the circlet he wears with some empathetic curiosity. He doesn't ask, but in a way he knows he doesn't have to. He treats himself plainly, understands who he is, but perhaps underestimates his own place in the world. That's nothing new. It often has him rolling his eyes behind the other's back. Today, though, he doesn't bother rolling his eyes. The sun has been beating down on his back for a while now, and the sand his burning his paws. Even if he keeps the same easy warmth to his expression, he's slightly too exhausted for sarcasm. That's probably a good thing at this point. His head lifts and his ears perk and the excitement in Aubin's voice. And that is... Well, his question is a good one. Theron can't help but shrug. "Je ne sais pas. Let's go find out." Re: THE GHOST OF YOU // DOUBLE-JOINING - TSUYU. - 09-13-2018 Tsuyu's charcoal gaze seemed to bore straight towards the seemingly new strangers, and they soon narrowed into slits as they spoke of getting closer. They weren't that stupid, were they? Well, Tsuyu wasn't anything more than a slave, so she'd just stay here and wait for someone to actually greet the person- or people, either way. Then, she'd introduce herself. Yeah, good plan.

As much as Dante wanted to snarl and growl about these two strangers being so close to the border, they hadn't crossed it. Plus, didn't Esklav say to leave intruders to him? That was slightly disappointing, especially considering Dante was a Crusader. Although it was a secret rank and nobody knew of it, the hybrid felt that defending the clan came upon the Crusaders and therefore, they had a right to attack strangers. But unfortunately Esklav had announced that intruders were something for him to deal with, which practically left Crusaders useless - at least in Dante's opinion.
#psychosocial.Dante let out a puff of smoke from the cigarette between his fangs as he came over, standing next to Quill as he glared at the strangers, awaiting a response from them. From the sound of it, there were only two people, speaking in some language she didn't understand. She's hesitant to walk over, unsure who they were. She was always fearful she would be recaptured, taken back to a life of serving. She couldn't risk that. But nevertheless, the female approaches as the scent of other Pitt members drift towards her, reassuring her she wouldn't be alone.
Some of the burden was lifted off her when she noticed she didn't recognize either of them, but she reminded herself that didn't mean anything. Standing beside Quill--and away from Dante--she watches them uncertainly, waiting for their reply. She wouldn't introduce herself until then. [glow=black,2,300]— ✘ —[/glow]

"THE LINE BETWEEN LIGHT AND DARK IS SO VERY THIN" The darker shape of the Barbary lion, half his face lost to the ravages of an older misery in captivity before these lands, the once leader's lone pupiled gaze eyes the two strangers with suspicion and boredom at the least. yes Esklav's ruling on intruders is disappointing - but he does as bid - Jainus merely watching from behind his fellows. |
