nui was unfamiliar with the graces of ice skating. though her limbs allowed her to stalk across snow (and at point, ice, with unsheathed claws before her body had morphed), ice skating was a foreign experience to the icestriker.
she had been used to using her own, natural talons to dig into the sharp ice and using the friction of her paws to gude her over the slippery surface. ice skates had just looked somewhat unnatural to her and made the bunny's knees wobbling just thinking about it, yet it was still an experience she was willing to try.

the event had been hosted outside of camp. just a little ways on the territory; on a wide stretch of ice renowned for it's girth. a variety of ice skates had been laid out of different shapes and sizes, and nui sat, kicking on a long pair of boots. her paws were gripped tight around the ebony twines.

"ice skating riiiight over here! feel free to use the skates provided here. another alternative is to use your own paws, hooves, legs and all but... i wouldn't reccomend that."

Re: RUN, DESIRE RUN // ice skating - ATBASH CIPHER. - 09-12-2018

ATBASH CIPHER
is someone else in me,
waiting to break free?
Ice skating was something Atbash was excited for during the festival so it was no surprise that the demoness was making her way over as quickly as she possibly could. It would be a tad hard to properly be able to skate with her still getting to used to one eye, but the Hailcaller wasn't going to let her injury hinder her. No, this event was meant to be celebrating their victory, celebrating the fact that they were no longer in control. It was supposed to symbolize a new Atbash, just like when she first joined Snowbound.

"Thanks for setting this up!" Atbash chirped to Nui as she came running over, coming to where the pile of ice skates were. The she-cat debated on whether or not it'd be better to skate with the shoes or her paws, but eventually decided on putting the shoes on. So, that's what she was attempting to do right now.

Yet there was no stretch of time, a period to grow accustomed to the chill permeating the air, for the child had proven rather excited when new of the festival had spread, barely contained as he had ventured forth with the rest.

It had been a rather large shock of his system, one built for the heat of the deserve, adapting to it over generations until he came about at the end of it all, unease curling his stomach as he had gotten his first taste of snow. The chill of it had stopped him for only a short time and quickly he picked up on things, though he had yet to learn how to properly distribute his weight to allow easy movement. As such it was no real surprise his dark fur glittered with snow, accumulated over a few falls, some dislodged as he moved closer. With his inexperience with snow he lacked any knowledge of ice or its properties, thinking little to taking a tentative step out onto it though the other two present pulled on skates.

A sharp sound of surprise escaped Harland as he slipped, landing in the snow about the edge of the ice and thus doing no harm, but the surprise of it was enough. Lifting himself once more he took a few steps back, looking towards the Bounders. For now he decided to do the smart thing and wait, watching the pair to see how they went about skating before attempting it himself.
