The sun, pulled easily by strings of clouds and jetstreams, slipped forth into the sky, returning The Pitt to its usual heat. Mornings out be beautiful, if they didn't toss the desert into the inferno head first. Gabriel's last home had been a desert, and he had always been late to sleep and early to rise specifically so that he could cherish the cool air against his skin while it lasted.
This morning, the serval had chosen this time to get blazed out of his mind. Gabriel was almost always stoned these days, but he doubted anyone would complain about it. They seemed to be mostly preoccupied with the worse aspects of his personality. Getting high usually lessened those shitty bits. Gabriel sat in silence, in his usual place in the jungle beneath the tree. He watched as his slow exhalations of smoke twisted into the air and caught the different colours of light that the morning sun let out. Either this was super pretty, or Gabriel was already high off his ass.
