A FOREVER MEMORY | Open, Form Shift+MDC - Luciferr - 09-08-2018

Savior, conqueror, hero, villain. You are all things… and yet you are nothing.
In the end, you belong to neither the light nor the darkness. You will forever stand alone
In truth, he and his kind were shifters - with something akin to four forms they wore in total.

but in reality, they were all so much more - children of starlight and creation made flesh, born into the being of the very thing they were hallowed for and so even if it had taken him some time to stretch this particular muscle - when the ancient being of shadows and dark stars known as Lucifer stretched out a spindly limb - bones of pure blacklight threaded with the red malevolence like a macabre parody of muscles atop bones in this ether-night plain,

it took no effort at all for the greater dragon to warp it's living shadow and encase its greater power into an even smaller vessel - to hie the wellspring of pure shadows folded neatly into a creature that looked so much more deceptively fragile than his natural larger state - and yet was anything but.

when it was done, lucifer rose and stretched a form thought locked away to him - his home now a greater chasm to this form but he would not abandon it for a home within his division, no his cave was his dwelling and this form served its purposes where his dragon form could not - but 9 times out of ten would he exist in his natural form, as it gratified him this plain - this verse did not so put a resrictor around the throat of that form.

four pitch dark wings stretched outwards and upwards as Ivory-to-red teeth revealed in a yawn - the ever present scar still stood out in this form and if nothing else that would identify him to his fellows - heh, for all he despised it, at least it served a use.

the broken shard of a mirror he'd salvaged caught his eye, he padded closer to look down - unsure whether this form had remained or retained any of his old self aside of the scar from,

from before that first death.

The horns echoed his largest form, curving upwards and away while the two at the side angled themselves severly upwards - a crown of horns upon his head as always,

yet,

while in most forms he had always been many shades of black - of even grey - the off-white that now shredded through part of his mane was slightly new but he remembered once, the echoes of far younger voices came back -

"ha look luci! You're getting some white hairs! an look I'm gettin some black ones! do you think that's meant to be symbolic?"

"I don't know Val - maybe"

"I like to think so! it just goes to show those idiots is wrong! light n dark are meant to work together!"

"...you really think so?"

"yeah Luci! dark's not bad, they're just dumb"

He blinked away the voices - it was too painful, he didn't want to revisit those times, not now, perhaps not ever - he didn't, he didn't want to remember val's words and how he'd proven him wrong, of a small child with blind eyes,

[shadow=white,left]"m sorry...I hurt them, i hurt you all"[/shadow]
"silly, you saved us, y-you saved all of us.."
"...Luci?..."
"....big brother?"
"where are you going?"

a rattling sigh climbed his chest and rasped from his jaws - his gaze suddenly bleary and his muzzle screwed up, a clawed paw coming up to rub irritably at his face - no tears now, no tears - that was weakness unnecessary now.

he'd forgotten how much these forms - these forms not of their truest self-truest embodiment - resembled each other, for all the only reminder in his face of his sire was the lurid scar - it was both gladdening and saddening to see where the shape of his face mirrored his mothers - or the way his wings were more harsher than her softer tones resembled his uncles own.

it hurt to remember this - remember what was left behind, whom he'd never see.

but he liked to comfort himself that maybe, maybe it wasn't an impossibility - wasn't a sad fact of life for the rest of eternity.

after all he had forever to find them again - or they to find him.

he sniffed slightly, wiping away any vestiges of sadness and wandering away from the mirror shard towards the cave entrance and the beaches below - no it wouldn't do to let the others worry about things which they could not change, it wasn't within their abilities and the once and always dragon would rather not have them worry about that.

a small smile quirked his mouth as he made his way down towards the sandy beaches, his pitch form cracked as it was with a fracture of red in an obsidian gem sitting upon the lonely sands as the sun rose before him casting its gaze across the ocean waves - these were good people for so named pirates and he was glad to belong to them for however long they'd have him.

even long after they were all but motes of stardust, he'd remember them - he'd tell their tales as much as his family, as his people.

this was his own charge after all.

when history was lost and these remarkable people went unknown, he would remember - he would be their living memorial and through him they would never die.

Re: A FOREVER MEMORY | Open, Form Shift+MDC - MARCELLUS - 09-10-2018

HEARTFELT PROMISES { .:*・°☆ } ——— TAGS
Shapeshifting was never a power he found himself able to carry. He heard tales of others having the power, being able to shift into whatever form they so wished, but with him it was almost weird. He had heard that if you really willed it and wanted it, it would happen and so he did both and thus nothing would ever happen. He was beginning to think that it was a load of crap and that he would never have powers like everyone else in the Typhoon and it certainly was a bad thing because it made him vulnerable to so many things. He would never be as strong as everyone else and not only was his complete lack of powers proof of that, but his limp was as well. His limp slowed him down, made him weaker and more vulnerable than anyone else and frankly it pissed him off to no end. It hurt him that he would never be as strong, as fast, as good as them though he wasn't one to let that weakness show. In the past maybe, but it was different now. He needed to be strong for himself, for the Typhoon, and his lost family that haunted him one time not long ago to prove that point.

The slowly ending night time was proving to be restless for Marcellus, the king cheetah tossing and turning until his wake which he finally allowed his paws to carry him out of the wooden creaky bed. For a moment it looked as if pure anger was the only thing amongst his features until finally that anger subsided and he found himself exhaling a breath of annoyance. He wasn't content, far from that, and it seemed as if insomnia was beginning to get the best of him. Sometimes he would sleep as peaceful as a newborn kit but others he would barely catch any sleep and today was one of those nights. His paws began to carried him out of the bedroom of his shack over to the main living area where the door was, his paws pressing against the door to swing it open with a loud thud, the king cheetah cringing at how much force he had accidentally used in opening the door. Pushing that thought aside, the cheetah allowed his paws to sink into the cool sand as he leap down, eyes looking around in silence before he spotted a figure on the beach.

Usually joiners didn't come out this far unless they were trespassers and instantly fear shot up Marcellus, his eyes narrowing as he tried to look around for any other one of his clan mates to help him. No, no one was around but him. The Privateer wasn't sure how to react, did he just run in and ask their name and business before he jumped to conclusions? Yeah, maybe they missed the border. His paws began to carry him towards Lucifer before he stopped short and took a brief breath to help himself grow a bit more confident and not give off the fact that he was a bit terrified. Though he couldn't see completely what the trespasser looked like, he could tell that they were huge and way larger than he was. Slowly Marcellus began to creep up until finally he found himself face to face with the male. "Name and.." He stopped his sentence short as he narrowed his eyes to realize that this guy looked a lot like Lucifer but in a different type of body. Though he wasn't completely sure, Marcellus opened his jaws.

"Lucifer?" He questioned, slowly fear vanishing from his emotions as he began to recognize the large creature.
