TAKING A STAND // PIERCE - buckingham barnes - 09-06-2018
[ retro to frame ] Usually when the maine coon padded his way through the territory, he's at top alert. Ears pricked for any possible sound, and his gaze scanning his surroundings as he ventures forward. But today wasn't one of those days- the male padded through without listening for paw steps, voices, or anything. It was almost like he was padding around carelessly- without noticing it. His mind was just wandering as he padded forward, distracting himself from his surroundings. With each step he took, he seemingly got closer and closer to an individual padding down a different path. If he noticed the individual, he would have realized they were going to intersect, meaning they'd walk into each other if they didn't stop. Unfortunately, the former assassin didn't catch them in his gaze, and kept moving forward. He kept padding along, expecting nothing to bother him, when the opposite occurred. Suddenly he felt himself walk right into soft fur, pulling Bucky out of whatever mind wandering trance. His eyes blinking as his senses adjusted to his surroundings, quickly backing up. As he took a few steps back, he noticed Pierce standing before him, who was probably just as surprised as him. "Pierce! I'm sorry- I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings," He said with a tinge of embarrassment, wondering how the hell he managed to get so distracted. Bucky was one of the last people to get lost from his surroundings, it wasn't like him. He felt like an idiot, honestly! Unfortunately for him, he hadn't been trying, not at all, when he'd been stepping across the boardwalk to reenter his home, so the approaching form of Bucky had gone completely unnoticed by him until just a moment too late. The pot of little pink flowers, which had been held delicately in his teeth when they collided, fell to the ground and shattered rather dramatically on impact, dirt and clay showering the paws of the two toms. A small frown found its way to Pierce's features as the Sunhavener he'd run into, who he now identified as Bucky, spoke. Sorry? Weren't they both at fault, technically. Pierce gave a small shake of his head, taking a step away from the mess. "Oh, don't worry, hun, that- that was all me. I completely forget what I'm doing with myself, sometimes," the freckled Goldenblood assured him with a gentle smile, though his honey gaze was fixed on the plant that had been so rudely uprooted. "Hey, do you, uh, think you could help me clean this up, though? That seems like a good enough apology on both sides, to me." They'd both made a mess, so they should both clean it up, right? It sounded fair enough to him. "speech" space
