AYE AYE CAPTAIN | joining - KHAOL CORATIO - 04-06-2018

KHAOL CORATIO
✯ — RUN AWAY FROM THE PAIN
space
to be alone was something khaol had become well accustomed to, though that didn't mean he enjoyed it. he'd always been a people person, to have others around him made him feel like he really existed, rather than just being there. though unfortunately, after events of the past, he was forced to make his own way, to carve his own path. he'd stopped at a few different places, each one a little different than the last, though there was one thing, one place, that he'd always heard about. the typhoon. a place for mistfits and troublestarters, and while khaol would like to believe that he was not a troublestarter, he was certainly a mistfit. someone who had been cast out from society at a young age, someone who had been thrown away and discarded from the very moment he'd taken his first breath. a mistfit, was just the polite way of describing him. it was these rumours, these speakings of a place that he might really belong, the thought made him jittery. surely it would say something if he couldn't even fit in amongst a society of mistfits. though those anxieties were to be pushed to the side, the black panther teetering curiously on the border.

this was it. the typhoon. for a moment, his eyes cast down to the shackle around his ankle, the panthers ears flicking back briefly, the hoop earrings in his left ear the first real sign of his arrival. his bright, yellowy-green eyes observed the terriory around him briefly before he sucked in a breath, first impressions were important. a sloppy grin, one that was almost always associated with khaol, swung across his maw. "aye!" ah, was that appropriate? he'd heard they were like pirates or something. yeah, that probably wasn't the right thing to say... well, there was no taking it back. "khaol coratio, here to join, or whatever it is that you guys say around here," well, that was pretty lame, and kinda cocky, then again that summed him up just a little too well. hopefully his ever dashing grin would make up for any misunderstanding that arose.

Re: AYE AYE CAPTAIN | joining - Amaranth - 04-06-2018

[align=center][div style="width: 450px;; text-align: justify"][size=8pt]Khaol wasn't the only misfit dreaming of a new home - that had been Amaranth and her brother Edgar just a little while ago. She found some comfort in slipping into the finer sands of the Typhoon, but it wasn't quite home yet. Maybe one day. The angelic caraval peered over with baby blue eyes as she padded over, and as she heard his voice, her mouth opened slightly in a gentle smile. "Hello," she chirped, before taking a seat. She wasn't sure if she was allowed to admit joiners yet, so she just mewed warmly, "Welcome to the Typhoon."

"Speech,"

Re: AYE AYE CAPTAIN | joining - Verdigris - 04-07-2018

The Typhoon might as well be called "the Island of Misfit Terrors" at this point. Perhaps the "terrors" bit was a little much for some of them, but they were definitely outcasts. Georgie had admitted to being one when she arrived at the island, Paper knew full well that he was one, and he suspected that most of the others wouldn't have integrated well into the rest of society either. It was part of what gave the Typhoon its drawing power, besides the obvious fact that they were one of the two most powerful factions around (and he wasn't even certain that Tanglewood deserved the other spot).

The jackal had been circling the island when he came across the railroad tracks- or more specifically, the panther standing between them. Fortunately, his left ear had managed to pick up the majority of the newcomer's speech. "There's not really a set saying," he commented, with a shrug. "But welcome aboard, I guess. I'm Papercutter."

khaol's gaze turned on the first to approach, the smile never leaving the panthers maw. she seemed nice, sweet, and his eyes caught hers first, a bright blue that he wasn't quite used to. "thank you! i didn't quite catch your name though," he felt a little uncomfortable having others know his name without knowing theirs, although, he didn't seem like he was. another thing he refused to comment on was how he'd expected someone a little more rough around the edges to greet him, not that he minded. his head tipped, ears flicking when he heard the approach of another, at least this time he had a name to go by. "papercutter?" his fictional brows rose with curiosity, "that sounds pretty badass." well, as badass as a papercutter could get, besides, paper cuts hurt, everyone knew that.
