It's been a couple of days since the pair arrived at the Ascendants, and Feyre's introduction has been gnawing at Hyoyeon's self confidence just a little. It wasn't that she disliked the girl, she hadn't really known anyone long enough to firmly say that she liked or disliked anyone, but she was younger than Hyoyeon and must have already tempered her soul. Or, whatever the equivalent was, Feyre was no dragoon. She was still able to conjure fire and whilst it was unlikely that Tiamat would ever breathe fire, she still felt like she was... Slow? Compared to the conjuring powers of the younger feline. It was what was leading her to try and enter into her trance better. The evidence of her efforts was the heaving breaths and shudders that she has, on the verge of collapsing. A steady trickle of blood comes from her nose and a chewed cut on her lip, something which both Tiamat and Hyoyeon ignore. They know what they have to do, they have to push Hyoyeon until she taps into something more primal. The pain helps, not hinders, digging down deep to uncover what's within. Tempering. Like tempering steel. "I know not." "Not helpful." "When will you finally temper yourself?" "Harsh." And with that, Hyoyeon tenses. Drawing breath between her teeth, she lets herself centre. She can feel her hairs begin to bristle as she searches for that feeling, that sign, that innate thing that is within her. If she were asked for a name, a description, she couldn't give one. Everyone had a different thing that sparked them, everyone's soul was formed differently, Hyoyeon just needed to find what she was made of. And so her dragon watches carefully, ready to bring her dragoon back from something wrong. There was always a danger of dropping into a dragoon's trance - going too far too quickly had killed many a young trainee. It was a risk that every dragoon took though, the same way that they would learn to channel their dragon's breath and fight with their dragon as one. But that would take time, and Tiamat believed in her young dragoon. There was no reason for her not to after all, she would have none other than Hyoyeon. It feels sparks though. Hyoyeon feels the sparks, an electric pulse building in her body. It causes her fur to crackle and spark, throwing off harmless little discharges, but it is something, undefinable progress, calling forth a... Storm. Or perhaps the very first sparks of it. It could be years before she could form bolts from herself, but then she needed to temper herself further. "Stormblooded. Hyoyeon - Yeon, stop." Hyoyeon's eyes snap open, feeling the telltale ache behind me and tasting blood anew. She coughs up spots of blood onto the floor of the observatory, but the grin on her face is still clear despite the blood on her fur and teeth. She's done it, just a little, a little taste of what she has the potential to do. "Medic. Now." "But it's not that-" "Medic, Hyoyeon. I won't have you dying from being stupid." The feline whines slightly as Tiamat rests on her shoulder again. Her head hurts and she feels as if the world is spinning around her but... Stormblooded. That's what she is. Re: what's the worst thing that could happen / open - Zjarr - 09-05-2018 [div style="width: 48%; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 13px;"]It had not taken a great effort to discover and train himself his firebending and conjuring abilities. A demonic entity that worshipped the flames, he had found his knack for summoning, extinguishing, and repurposing fire for his own needs very early on. Now, the mastery and discipline of his powers was a different story. In the beginning, it was particularly arduous to control his capabilities, leading to sporadic fires starting up at any given moment. In the right state of mind, and with months of self-training, he had taken a step forward in controlling his ability. The next years, those many centuries that made up his life, were spent not just mastering his craft, but deciding what it would be purposed for. Good, evil, his own desires, the interests of those he strove to protect. That answer had not been handed to him yet. Nor had he the time or the strength to choose a path.
Upon touching down into the lives of sentient feral creatures, bestowed upon him were a variety of new abilities that he had only touched on in his previous lives: telepathy, waterbending, invisibility, scent and audio manipulation. The only three powers he was particularly proficient in were firebending (a given), conjuration (easy to pick up), and possession and shapeshifting (many demons knew to shift forms easily, it seemed). Such abilities were lost, though he retained a knowledge of telepathy to this day. In spite of his proficiency in some capabilities, Zjarr had learned that his education in powers was never to be completed; that, and there were many creatures around him that bore far more power and knowledge than he could even possess. He could only strive to meet their levels. Little crackles and sparks met his ears, and inquisitively the canine would step beyond his quarters to investigate the noise, one that he only hoped didn't stem from the Observatory. The last thing he wanted was to be trapped in the building again. Alas, all was well, save for the bloodied form of a short domestic feline. Zjarr could vaguely recognize her as Hyoyeon, a newcomer he had met on the borders with her...dragon. A sentient dragon that could speak. Yeah, that seemed right. Though a grin rested upon her maw, she seemed washed with liquid crimson, blood to be spotted on her brown fur and on her teeth. She needed help...now. "Ah, shit..." the demon rumbled under his breath as his pace quickened to meet the feline. He tossed his head over his shoulder to call, "Yo, Peri! Medical dudes! We need some help here!" His gaze switched back to Hyoyeon now, his lips pursed tightly. "Christ, kid, what the hell were you doin'?" When Roman had been younger, and when he had gotten all of his powers, it had taken him a while to master them, though he had eventually done so, and had been proud of himself for doing so, though the only power he was never able to control had been that of controlling water, as it had been connected to his emotions directly, and his fear of the substance was something that he had never gotten in check. For now, however, he would not have to worry about it, for a small time before he had joined the Ascendants, he had lost all of his powers. Although it seemed as though he was slowly gaining them back, the male was more than happy to wait a time before getting all of them, and hoped that he would not get his water bending ability back, for it caused too much strain on himself. Having been around the Observatory, Roman had felt the small crackle of electricity flow through the building, and had looked outside, expecting large storm clouds to be overhead. When he noticed no such thing was near enough to be causing that, he had starting to wander around in hopes of finding out what it was - no matter how dangerous it could be - before he heard the call coming from Zjarr, a male he had only met once or twice before, and sprinted down the hall to where the two were standing, noticing the metallic tang of blood for a moment before he pad forward, looking towards Hyoyeon for a moment, confirming that it was her, before speaking. "My name's Roman, I'm not an offical medic since we don't have those anymore, but I was on the medic team here for a bit, as well as in one of my other homes, if you'd let me, I'd like to help." He didn't know her, didn't know if she didn't want others near her, so he had to make sure it was okay so that she didn't potentially get more hurt. [[ permission to power play healing stuff? Also, what is the damage, exactly? I can assume internal bleeding ( either that or simply bleeding from the mouth potentially ) and exhaustion, as well as the minor cuts on her mouth from biting and the nose bleed, but otherwise would there be anything else? ]] Re: what's the worst thing that could happen / open - MOONMADE - 09-05-2018 [size=9pt]He and Bast were going to need to take a long walk one of these nights and figure out what exactly possessed that cocky fucker to kick Moon out of the Cleric ranks and into whatever the hell he went by, now. He wasn't ungrateful, or bitter -- well, maybe a little -- but the past few weeks had been a mess and this news only made him feel more lost. He needed a job to spill blood, sweat and tears over and the Halo position had been just that. He'd been helping people, and, some nights, whoever ruled the Heavens had bore witness to that and gifted him a good nights sleep. Now he sat up at night and talked nonsense to the owls that cared to listen. Most didn't.
"Actually," says Moon, having picked up on Roman's comment. It rubbed him the wrong way. 'No official medic'. It might have been close to the truth, but, for some reason, it grated at Moon. Everything seemed to be doing that, lately. Like a child begrudgingly sharing a toy, he threw his old medic bag at Roman's paws. It over-spilled with delicately labeled containers, cloths, herbs. "Technically I specialize in Clan Welfare." He mumbled, but he had a feeling Bast had just spoon-fed him that line, so he didn't sound like he even believed in it, himself. "But go ahead. Hyoyeon, I'll grab you some water. Take it easy." The first answer she provides is one that is happy despite the nature of her injuries. The copper taste in her mouth is secondary to the feeling of adrenaline, like lightning in her veins, and she feels slightly delirious. Although, the latter effect might be a side effect of pushing herself too far. Her eyes are bright, and it isn't Yeon that gives the answer of what's wrong, it's Tiamat. "She's trying to temper herself, it's a tradition for dragoons to use dragon magic - there's no serious harm to her wellbeing. Just something to help the bleeding and she'll be fine." She sounds calmer than she should be, but one of the pair has to be levelheaded. Otherwise, Yeon would of probably been six feet under a long time ago. She hadn't pushed herself too far though, not this time. "I don't really need it, but-" "She does. She'll take it, thank you. To both of you." Tiamat cuts off Yeon the same way that a stern mother does, her tone leaving little room for excuses or wiggle room as Hyoyeon deflates and pouts. "I made sparks." She mumbles, as if that's supposed to prove her point that she's fine, but she sits her patiently whilst she waits for Roman and Moon to do whatever they needed. She hated medics. Roman's ears pricked at the sound of Moon approaching, the male's scent washing over him, and Roman would turn to the other member that used to be of the team of medics they had, happy that he was there until he noticed the agitated appearance and feeling in the air. When Moon spoke, Roman realized that what he said seemed to have been something wrong. He hadn't meant to agitate the other, though what he spoke was the truth. Whether or not Moon specialized in clan welfare, there was no official team of medics here anymore, they had all been mass demoted, and Moon had been promoted to Cosmic General, not a Cleric. He would have said something to apologize to the other, but he had spoken once more, offering to go get Hyoyeon some water and had tossed Roman his bag with his herbs and cloths, and Roman would look down at it for a moment, appreciation for the organization washing over him before he looked over towards Hyoyeon once more, noting the blood on her lip quickly and the blood on the floor - too much for it to be her lip - and she didn't appear to have any wounds on her body. He would look down at the labels on the containers, looking for golden rod and raspberry leaves, moving closer to Hyoyeon he would put a Raspberry leaf on the wound on her lip, speaking as he did so. "This is going to stop the bleeding on the cut on your lip." He would speak, thinking for a moment as to what he would ask next - she was still young, though not so young as she wouldn't understand things. "The blood on the floor, did you cough that up, or do you have a wound somewhere I can't see?" He wanted to make sure. He was pretty sure he knew what it was, but had to make sure so that he didn't harm her. "If you coughed it up, could you eat a small bit of the golden rod here when Moon gets back with water? It won't taste the best, but it'll help stop the bleeding." He would move the container towards her as soon as he was done with the raspberry leaf, making a mental note to speak to Moon later on about all this medic nonsense, see what he wanted to do about it. Yet strangely there seemed something there, a presence within the aura which surrounded the child to those who might see it, forest tones given to a faint shift, a light breaking through in moments when his emotions proved strong. Though there was nothing present for the time being it seemed the possibility, or else the capacity, was present. Time was the only factor which might tell of such, prove it true or else simply sweep such hopes aside, either an end the child would allow to come for it wasn't truly his choice but more something thrust upon him, but at least it gave him some prior warning even if it was another who would need to tell him. As always he seemed a shadow rather than a living being, a child given to his own private thoughts and struggles, of which he had no want to be left with, taking a quick pace so as to not fall behind. It proved a common sight when the want to be within the observatory struck, more common now as Harland sought companionship, as though he were a lost puppy following at the heels of one kind enough to take him in, and wasn't he just that in truth. “Dragon," his gaze moved over Hyoyeon, catching upon her bloodied lip and leading to thoughts very different from her own, before it rose and found the creature he spoke of with such a tone of reverence and wonder. This was the first he had seen, though of course tales of such had risen within his home, present as it was for most children, a seeming staple part of fairy tales told to each no matter were they began their life if they proved so lucky to hear them, and so he looked upon Tiamat with wide eyes. |
