Between the general heat that came in as summer was drawing to a close and the lingering humid air from the storms and rain of the season, it was unbearably sticky and hard to breathe in the scorching air.  Sure the trees provided shade, but the humidity alone made the weather unbearable.  Not to mention it was the middle of the day when the temperature was at its highest.  Stack that all together and you had a terrible day climate wise.

Sephiroth, despite his hardiness and general tolerance of changing weather, even had to admit that the heat was ungodly.  The lion panted as he patrolled throughout the territory, pushing on despite the poor air condition for the sake of his clan.  His group needed to stay together with strong members like himself, so he couldn’t take too many breaks and had to keep working for the sake of the group’s survival.  Still, it was unpleasant.

Swiping his tongue over his jaws with a straining huff of breath, the light furred lion would pause to catch his breath.  At the very least he could be thankful he didn’t have a darker pelt that would absorb the heat, which would make his suffering even worse.  He was desperate for some sort of relief, so he stretched out his senses to find some way to relieve himself.  Soon enough, his ears could hear the gentle sound of moving water as he found himself immediately going straight towards it, moving as fast as he could in the heat.

Sure enough, there was a good sized pool of water being fed by a river that ran from somewhere in the distance.  Sephiroth approached without any hesitation and gently slipped into the water with a deep and contented sigh, his eyes half closed in relief and pleasure.  Ah yes, that felt much, much better.  The lion crouched in the pool, letting the cool water move over his pelt and chill his heated form.  For once his expression actually looked pleased, with his eyes slowly closing comfortably and a small smile on his silvery muzzle.  It wouldn’t work forever, but for now it would be a good temporary relief to the end of summer heat.

[div style="background-color: #292727; color: white; font-family: arial; font-size: 12px; letter-spacing: 1px; text-align: justify; overflow: auto; width: 500px; height: 340px; padding: 10px;"]The wildcat heard Lucreys coming by the rustling of the foliage and footsteps long before he heard his voice.  Sephiroth was content to ignore him until he heard his voice directed at him in particular.  He cracked a single eye open and set it on the griffin, all swirling aquamarine iris and slit pupil.  He blinked both eyes open and turned his silver framed skull towards the newcomer, not moving from his spot.

”Yes and yes.  Unbearably so.”  Sephiroth would respond in his deep rumbling voice, his tone still sleepy.  ”And I’m not going to stop you.  Best take advantage of it while you can.”  His silver tufted tail would flick in a beckoning motion, shifting the water around him.  The male would roll his powerful shoulders with a contented sound in his gullet before he moved to sit in the water, his toes and claws shifting the small stones and soil of the bottom of the pond.

His eyes would shift once again as Epione approached.  ”I’ll be sure to keep that in mind.”  Sephiroth would respond, lowering more to a mid-crouch to let his pale fur submerge into the water and part of his signature silver mane to spread at the water’s surface.  He wasn’t the extremely chatty type, but he wasn’t rude.  He simply said what was needed at the time.
