AND THERE'S NOWHERE TO RUN FROM THE FIRE SHE BREATHES | SEANCE - Feyre - 08-30-2018 ☽ ☽ ☽
Where Feyre had found candles, even she couldn't say. They had been stashed away in some abandoned room she had simply happened upon, covered in a thin layer of dust and never once used before. Ever the opportunist, the fluffy ragdoll had made quick work of claiming them, easily locating a bag to transport them to a rather fascinating location perfect for the event she planned on hosting tonight. She stood before the landmark now, lavender gaze almost solemn as she drank in the magnificent sight of the Great Oak. Behind her, the Starpool reflected the moon's light, its waters flushed in a pale ivory shade. It was both the perfect time and perfect place for a seance. Her connection to the dead was one she often times pondered, but never too closely. They had always seemed so keen on watching over her, teaching her, and so she felt nothing but obligated to serve them the best she could. That servitude also included her faith in them, frequent offerings of all calibers given to her ancestors in hopes for prolonged communication. They had never denied her their company in an informal setting, certainly they'd heed to her summonings now-,right? Ever the good witch, she detected not even the slightest semblances of doubt, a smile instead spreading across pale lips as she retrieved the last item from her bag- a well-read grimoire. A paw would raise and the candles ignited, purple-colored eyes igniting amber in the gloom. [color=#3f5351]"Phasmatos Manex, Un Domo Hax, Fero Adiuvex." She read the spell slowly, thoughtfully, searching the void of darkness that seemingly opened within her for something. Anything. She had chosen the Great Oak because of its connection with this place's dead, their pendents hanging undisturbed from branches that she dare not tread upon. Would it be any of the Ascendants' deceased that greeted her? Or would that familiar cream tabby once again speak for the people of the other side? There was nothing immediately, just a flicker of an aura that she had not encountered before. She craned forward, eager to see more, talk to more, but was left with nothing but emptiness, eyes blinking confusedly. [color=#3f5351]"Uh, hello? I'm trying to summon you guys! Please don't tell me that we can only casually talk. Ugh," Feyre whispered to herself, discouraged. Did she have to give it more time? Did she need more people present? She had never held a seance before and admittedly, its complexities were lost on her. A shame, a damn shame. Pale blue eyes watched with indifference as Feyre spoke to seemingly no one, her usual smile nowhere to be found. Her beliefs were currently shaken, for the most part, but one thing was for sure: she still didn't believe in the afterlife. At least, mostly. She didn't really know anymore. The leopard wasn't expecting any voices, and ended up speaking up herself. "And what was that supposed to achieve, miss?"

"Shut up, Thea." Onision muttered under his breath, more intending to just shut Thea's mouth for now. The sound of her voice annoyed him, especially after he heard that she had brought his wolf out and fought him. She was lucky Eternalwar sat on him at that moment. After that, he hadn't wanted to spend time in the Observatory. Well, he could tolerate another seance. Somewhat. "Trying to contact some demons, pipsqueak?" Oni asked, tilting his head to the side. © MADI

BASTILLEPRISONER AURELIUS BY THE GRACE OF THE FIRE AND THE FLAMES
Bastille supposed that there was some divine comedy here, with Feyre looking up at her own pendant and trying to summon herself from it. He could have told her it wasn’t going to work, probably, but at the same time he knew she’d ask why and he had little interest in lying to her outright (though he would if he had to). [b]”Seems like your spell is a bit off,” he drawled, smirking slightly as he stopped beside Oni and regarded Fey. [color=#3f5351]"They'll come. I know it. They have to." They had never denied her the pleasure of their company before so why now? Why did this place with all of its overflowing spiritual energy not provide anything to the young Feyre except for a flicker of an unfamiliar aura? She was half tempted to release a groan before Oni's inquiry met her, expression further contorting as she shook her head. [color=#3f5351]"No. I want to talk to my ancestors," She explained quietly, appalled that he had even thought to suggest the presence of demons or her association with them. From a young age, she was warned of their trickery and mischief, made to swear that she would never search for one in the vast afterlife. Her word didn't just break the moment she joined a clan. Bastille's little smirk did nothing to help dismiss her frustrations, the little witch huffing slightly as she turned her attention back to her grimoire and reread the spell. [color=#3f5351]"No, I definitely know what I'm doing. Something's just wrong." Should she try again? Was it worth the physical burden it'd place upon her body? Feyre had an audience now, to simply blow out her candles, pack up her things, and leave would make her look the part of a failure. A sham. She'd much rather be burned at the stake than accept that terrible fate. [color=#3f5351]"Phasmatos Manex, Un Domo Hax, Fero Adiuvex. Come on. Come on, I know you're there!" The blue ragdoll practically pleaded, wincing as she was met with a sharp pain to the side of her head. But her efforts were rewarded as that yellow aura flickered back into view, streaked with shades of cerulean until a ghost manifested before her. Before all of them. [color=#3f5351]"See! I told you I was doing it right, I just nee-" The arrival of a harsh wind was cause for her abrupt pause, a look of absolute anguish crossing her features as it successfully managed to extinguish her candles and thus break her connection to the afterlife, to the strange ghost. [color=#3f5351]"What? No? I.. I had just done it! You guys saw the ghost, right? I'm not a sham, I can do this. I can do anything!" Her body betrayed her words though, a thin trickle of blood falling from her nose just as she raised a paw to try and reignite the candles. [color=#3f5351]"Ugh." Re: AND THERE'S NOWHERE TO RUN FROM THE FIRE SHE BREATHES | SEANCE - Warringkingdoms - 09-03-2018 [font=trebuchet ms]The act of contacting the dead through magic was one Rin had considered, but never actually tried. So far as she knew, she had no magical aptitude, so she figured she was more likely to accidentally summon a demon than actually reach her intended target. Besides, Suiteheart, Margaery, and Starrynight had all probably moved on from this world for good. She couldn't try to approach those she had known before losing her memories, either, as she had no idea who she was looking for (other than a few vague parameters that could refer to almost anyone). Unless they came to her, she had determined that she would need her memories back in order to reach them. Maybe it was for the better that she did not remember. If everyone else from her previous life had moved on, it was probably best that she do the same. Still, she wondered. Following Bast up to the Great Oak, Rin watched silently as Feyre recited the incantation for a second time. As the soft blue and yellow aura manifested before them, her eyes fixed on it, ears perking up. Though unrecognizable as anyone she knew, the sight still intrigued her. This girl did appear to have some connection to the afterlife; very curious indeed. With a small gust of wind, it disappeared. Rin let out a breath that she didn't realize she had been holding, then turned to Feyre- a look of concern crossing her features as she noticed the blood trickling from the child's nose. Using powers did sometimes have side effects, and as far as those went a nosebleed was relatively minor, but continuing further was probably not a good idea. "I saw it," she confirmed, twitching her ears. "But you've strained yourself enough today. I'd recommend you stop." |
