I'VE SEEN AN OCEAN RUN AWAY | pincher - CLEO R. C. - 08-20-2018 [member=66]PINCHER[/member] Cleo was currently struggling. Not in any emotional or mental way (well, actually she was, but her mind was not occupied by those thoughts for once), but rather, a physical one, tiny claws hooked precariously into the damp wood of a particularly hard-to-climb tree, a frown curving cinnamon lips as she stared up at Eshe. Her mamba was practically taunting her at this point, wrapping and rewrapping her long form around the branch she had decided to rest upon, that unfortunately wicked gleam dancing within her darkened eyes. Cleo could not return to camp until she scaled and then climbed down the tree, Eshe warning her of the consequences if she even tried. It wasn't exactly kind of the serpent, but she had assured Cleo over and over that this was all being done with her interest in mind. Her hearing was failing more and more by the day- it was essential that she grow stronger to protect herself. With everything that had been going on in her life recently, Cleo had relished in the opportunity to step back and focus on something other than her anger, even if that meant enduring the pain associated with trying to haul her tiny form up the tree. While it was obvious that she was going nowhere, these feelings were far better than the ones that she had been living with since her return, that bitterness temporarily eased as she set her mind to a different task. Even still, the shadow of her atrocious behavior lurked in the back of her mind, a perpetual reminder of how awful she was- not anyone else. But they had forgotten her. Left her among strangers in an unfamiliar clan. They hadn't even tried to rescue her. Why was she even entertaining the idea that she was the one at fault? It was her father and her sisters and everyone else, not her. Not her. [color=black]"Your concentration is breaking, little mamba." Eshe's voice was cold and unforgiving, the hiss that followed her words anything but friendly. Cleo would flatten her ears against her skull, attempting to ignore what she could only assume to be a berating in the making, only to be pleasantly surprised when silence once filled the air again. Was she... safe from the fury of the mamba? God, she hoped so. More and more issues were being laid upon Cleo's delicate shoulders, she didn't think she could handle another.
