Less Than Never;; Painting - Jiyu Simul Stamus - 08-19-2018 In the living room of the mansion, a large stretched canvas layout on the low coffee table which was pushed flash against the couch, skid marks showing someone had moved it there for their purposes. Around the canvas, scattered across the table? Lay many different bright colors of homemade paint laid in shells that could be closed later to preserve the integrity of the paint. If one took a whiff of the room, it would seem to smell of blood in spite the fact no blood visually seemed to be present, this was because of the fact each pigment of paint was blended into a small amount of blood for some reason. The artist's explanation? She needed to use the remaining blood from her last hunt before it went too bad for anything to be done with it, blending the thick substance into the mashed pigments and then grinding it down until it was a smooth paste, helped make great paint. From the leafy green to the beetle black? Each shade was made with blood and some other matter to help its coloration. Looking from the table to the couch, one could see easily spot the artist at work, tail tip dripping in blood blended paint shades, each extended claw carrying it's own shade as well. On the canvas one could see some scene coming together very nicely, the artwork clearly not the result of someone who had just picked up the craft, no the appearance of this work suggested the female had been doing this for at least a few years. In all honesty? The image coming together quiet resembled the vivid style of some canvases some of the members may have seen hanging around the mansion if they peered into the right area's. Ever since she joined over the years she lived among everyone? She had been painting, she couldn't possibly keep it all in her room or something like that, so whenever she finished she kinda just left it and other's did what they would with it, entirely unrealistic was the hope she held that no one had ever decided to just hang some of them around. Thus is someone looked hard enough, scenes of the past dotted odd places in the mansion, all clearly painted by the same artist, an artist who was now working on another new piece she would not care the fate of once more. While violence was what she did best? Sometimes even she needed to sit down, but this was not for sitting, this time was for hoping she could be helpful by luring out some aspiring stylist. The calico could never survive that role herself, she didn't think she really could do anything that didn't involve killing someone eventually, but that didn't mean she could not use this to lure out someone who could survive it. "Have to get another shell." but she would need to get it from someone else, she couldn't get that close to water, it was too dangerous, she couldn't swim. Maybe Finnish wars could be talked into going to get a closed clam for her? He was some sort of amphibious mutant right? Shouldn't be that hard for him, of course, she wasn't going to ask him, that would mean he could develop some sort of liking to something in her that wasn't violent. Jiyu liked it when no one really saw beyond her exterior, the only reason she even painted in public was because she didn't paint from her brain, she painted what she saw recently, thus it had to be public. The current image stretched across the canvas material this time? Was some image from the freeze tag game that had recently taken place, bright colors contrasting against each other and certainly jarring considering whose tail led them into place. Silently, the guard continued to work, adding small details she had neglected before. Re: Less Than Never;; Painting - Aurora Clemens - 08-19-2018 Aurora had been wandering the halls of the mansion, taking mental notes as she went until she spotted someone she had seen on the border. It was that person that hadn't really said anything, and so she didn't even know her name. She was about to walk by and ignore her until she realized what she was doing. She had a large canvas in front of her and she seemed to be painting some sort of conflict. If was quite bright and it was very well done. In fact, the style reminded her of another painting she had seen while roaming the halls. She supposed this was the person who had painted it, either that or she had a similar style. Either way, the small fennec fox veered off track and sat a little ways behind Jiyu to watch. While her nose wasn't quite as good as her ears, she picked up a faint scent of blood in the room. It made her stomach churn a little as the scent brought back images she'd rather not remember. Aurora had thought of painting once, but she didn't quite feel like she had the artistic value to do it well. Sure her journal was filled with sketches of the different places she's been to, but that was different from painting. Besides, from what she could tell with Jiyu, it seemed quite messy. Though perhaps maybe one day she could at least try it out. "That looks pretty good, how long have you been painting?" She asks out of genuine curiosity, her tone soft and somewhat shy. She didn't want to disturb the artist, but then again she felt the need to say something and alert her of her presence. |
