its the circle of life ✨ egg - Mama - 08-18-2018

She had not thought of it being dead, though her life had been steered towards darker paths the serval had tried to keep her thoughts upon a more optimistic line, and readily took the egg, bundling it up within fabric and furs to keep it warm.

It had been a week since the day she had come across it with little sign of life from withing though the shell had gained some warmth, a gentle heat that became steadily more noticeable the more time that passed, the small flicker of hope she had harboured growing stronger. Yet it had seemed to smooth out and nothing more had come of it, the slight heat never building though it had yet to fall, which she was thankful for, her efforts were never ceased, however, for she had no wish to abandon the egg if there was a chance.

That morning she had bundled up the egg and moved it out onto the her porch, picking a portion which was uncovered and permitted sunlight to stream down onto the stained wood, pulling a chair out onto it for her to sit. Of a much smaller stature now she took only a small portion of the chair and so set the bundle of fabric next to her, humming softly beneath her breath as she watched the world go by, simply enjoying the peace of the morning. Or at least she was.

Gentle at first, the tap went largely unnoticed before it came again, growing in strength. Ishayu found her attention turning to the bundle by her, a soft murmur of surprise escaping her as she watched the egg shift slightly, more taps coming from within the thin shell. Well this was a surprise. For the moment she had some time before it hatched, or at least she hoped so, and she quickly looked for another, hoping they would know where to get the necessary food for the chick.

Talanah was alive and with that discovery came a new lightness in Ilijas' life. His urge to travel - to wander and run and never come back to this place and all of its beauty and wonder - had all but disappeared, replaced instead by an innate desire to protect his twin sister here, in Sunhaven. She was the tough one capable of handling pretty much anything the world tossed in her direction but regardless, losing her once had been enough for him- the boy could not leave her side ever again. His mind had been alive with plans since their reunion, grandeur concepts of a photography shop occupying his free time as he made his way through the town, a listless tune spilling from ebony lips. Ah yes, another side effect of his sister's return. His birth body was hardly used, too many memories of Tally associated with the fox for him to ever feel comfortable...

But all that was different now, different and good, and the canine relished in the familiarity of the obsidian body he was born into. His bengal form was alright just as his elk form was, but nothing beat this. Nothing at all.

A relatively familiar figure broke his reverie though, sending him spiraling back to reality as he closed the distance between himself and Ishayu's porch to investigate. [color=gray]"You good?" Ilijas inquired casually, a brow raising, [color=gray]"Is that egg hatching? What is it? Where did you find it?" He hadn't heard of felines raising anything that hatched out of an egg but hey, maybe they did things differently here. [color=gray]"Can I like... take pictures of whatever's inside? You can have them, I'm just antsy to use the camera."
