Once there was a way [p, Atbash] - Dimitri - 08-18-2018

Dagon was a known cynic. He was a very unhappy man, hardened by experience and on the constant defensive.
He held a whiskey bottle in his tail as he stepped into the medic den, whiskey glasses clinking together in the bag in his mouth. He approached Atbash lightly, setting down the things and shoving her with a paw.
"Atbash. Atbash. Let’s have a drink.” He said, looking down at the leader and laying down, staring at her.
Dagon was a plan brown tom- he was slightly more stocky than Dimitri and he had those empty, pupiless black eyes.

ATBASH CIPHER
i know i should stop believing

Was Atbash an unhappy person? Not generally, no. The she-cat always tried to be positive, even through her nervousness. That being said, she wasn’t too happy about the current takeover - especially considering she was injured and this was all her fault and her tribe was getting injured because of a decision she made. She choose to exile Stryker, she choose to visit The Pitt, and look where that got her. Practically dethroned and disabled.

Atbash let out a groan of pain as Dagon prodded her awake, ears pinning back as she was forced into consciousness. The Hailcaller slowly moved her head to look at the male, blinking at him with her good eye before she got a good look at who woke her up. ”I don’t drink, Dagon,” She replied in a groggy voice, frowning at him.

"It eases the pain.” How odd was it that Dimitri’s cohost was this moody ass drunkard with no judgement of self and cared little for others. That was, besides Dimitri. In a watered down way. Dagon wanted the best for the system, but he also just wanted them to fuck off and leave him to run the show.

"A friendly drink, fucker. Nothing bad’s Gonna happen to ya. You got me...” He smiled slightly and began to pour glasses, using shapeshifted hands.

"It’ll all pass Atbash... I know it will. It will pass and things will go back to normal.” he glanced at her eye. Almost.

"We still haven’t found Dimitri.”

It'll ease the pain away... but at what cost? Atbash didn't want to end up vomiting the next morning - or, hell, the next hour, even. She had nothing against Dagon and his drinking; he could do what he wanted, and if drinking helped him relax, then that was fine. That just wasn't her type of thing. Atbash simply shook her head slightly, wincing a bit in surprise as he insulted her. He doesn't mean it. She had to tell herself. It was just who Dagon was: drunk and blunt. Even if his words hurt, she knew (or rather, hoped) he didn't mean them.

"Did... did he just disappear?" Atbash was quite alarmed at the news. Dimitri was the host, wasn't he? He couldn't just up and disappear, could he? That wasn't how it worked? She honestly had no idea, and she probably should just be asking her questions out loud, but hopefully Dagon would get her implications in that one question.

Dagon gave a shrug, eyes casting over to his drink and running his paw around the rim of his cup. "Desdemona has been chasing him around. Can't find him anywhere. Dimitri just... deals with his problems this way. Evasively." Dagon sighed, eyes heavy and head lulling forward.
"You ever wonder why Dimitri's immediate other personality- practically a co-host now, is some angry, defensive drunkard with nothing to lose?"

Atbash was trying to comprehend what Dagon was saying, and her short tail flicked in thought as she listened to his words. "Is he... buried in your mind somewhere?" She asked. "I-I can try to pull him out." The offer was sincere, although she had no idea that Dagon - and likely the other alters - were uncomfortable with people poking around in their mind. She didn't mean the offer to be offending, basically, but of course she had no idea it would offend Dagon in the first place (assuming it would). "Why's that?" Honestly, she was curious as to why Dagon was the immediate alter to pop up in Dimitri's place. Surely he had a reason for that?

// Sorry for the late reply

"No, Atbash, you don't need to do that." Even more, Dagon didn't think someone trying to meddle in their problems wasn't going to do anything. "He's not buried, he just... doesn't wanna come back out. And I don't think he should until the takeover is over, personally." He said, taking a new sip of his whiskey.

"It wasn't your fault, Atbash. But it still hurt him. And then Des split off from Donovan, and now we're here."

ATBASH CIPHER
is someone else in me,
waiting to break free?
Meddling with somebody's mind - and their problems - would definitely cause some issues, so Atbash felt no hard feelings towards Dagon when he declined her offer. After all, not a lot of people would be comfortable with somebody in their mind and Atbash understood that. It's why she didn't use telepathy very often, and only if she absolutely had to. "Yeah, The Pitt might just cause more issues." The savannah agreed with a sigh. They definitely were a lot more trouble than they're worth and the only reason people didn't do anything - Atbash assumed - was because Stryker technically was holding her hostage. One wrong move and it would come back to haunt her.
