MONROE
MALE — SUNHAVEN — SUNBEARER — HARD
Quatum had given him the task of setting up a swimming class and he has to agree that it was a good idea. Didn’t want to have anyone sinking to meet the Flying Dutchmen. A sigh left the mutant’s muzzle as he passed the beach because he was unsure of how to actually start this class. Swimming had not always been second nature to him and he knew for a fact that he had had trouble with figuring out how his tail worked. The fin was asymmetrical, the top longer than the bottom but that helped with guidance and sharp turns. Plus it was good balance when it came to swimming fast in the waters. But cats and other land animals were not like that. Most times they were easy prey for large water predators because that was their domain. Sitting down with a huff he lifted up a paw and flexed the toes to reveal the webbing between them, helped him with direction. A gruff sound left his throat before he shrugged his shoulders. He couldn’t be so down in the dumps but lately things had been a bit rough for him. ”Hey, if anyone wants tae try their hand in swimmin’ then come on over to the beach!”

Here was a rather different matter with the ocean so close, the depth to a point she might easily learn to swim, something she had hoped to one day tackle.

Had she thought today might be that day? In truth she hadn't, allowing the thought to be pushed to the back burner for she had other matters to attend to, the call was all too tempting, however, her attention caught by the prospect and refusing to shift. Carefully she put her tools away, leaving the piece of scrap metal she had been working to cool upon her make-shift anvil, nothing more than practice to keep her skills sharp and learn this forge, peeking out of the cave entrance. Not all that far from the beach she easily found the figure of Monroe, one she had grown to rather like. No matter his odd appearance he seemed to harbour a kind heart and proved welcoming, a soft smile curling about her lips as she began her trek, easily walking the short path from her work space to the beach.

“Hello Monroe,” warm was the smile curling her lips, offering more than the false kindness she extended to so many, yet it faltered some as she noticed how the other seemed brought low, curious as to what seemed to shake his good mood so badly. “I would love to learn if you are up for the challenge.” Light-hearted, meant to be a playful jab at herself more than anything, she jiggled her stump as she finished speaking, knowing it would make things a little more difficult. Ishayu had attempted to learn a few times on her own, allowing the current to keep her afloat within the shallows, but getting the hang of it proved difficult for the moment, missing close to half a limb making propelling herself through the water all the more difficult.
