BASTILLEPRISONER AURELIUS BY THE GRACE OF THE FIRE AND THE FLAMES
It was late when Bastille emerged from the control room feeling slightly more triumphant, but he supposed that didn't really matter when it was always dark indoors without power. He doubted too many of his members were really asleep yet any way, and if they were? Whatever. This was a little more important than an extra hour of sleep, in his opinion, and he stood with a slip of paper under his paw for a moment before he called, [b]"Yo, everyone get over here -- we're getting the fuck out of here." There was a pause as he waited for them to register his words, before he held up the paper, scrawled with a messy doodle of what looked to be a panel. There was a small star etched into the lower right corner, but otherwise it was entirely nondescript, just like all the other metal plates in the walls. "I think we're looking for something like this; it will be somewhere on the wall in this damned place, and it should have the back-up fuses to get the damned generators working again. Time for a scavenger hunt." A rueful smile, because it sounded vaguely ridiculous even to him, but whatever. "Go in groups of two or something, and start looking." [ yes madi did just make up vaguely technical sounding things, don't @ me the panel can be found on the THIRD PAGE of this thread!! happy posting homies -- i will free you once we get there ] [B]ASTRAL SERAPH — THE ASCENDANTS — TAGS — MOODBOARD — PLAYLIST Re: THOUSAND DOLLAR SHEETS | ESCAPE CHALLENGE - MirrorEdge - 08-14-2018
"Wait, what you're saying is that to get out all this time, all we had to do was look for a star?" Thea's tone held something the bordered on anger, almost, if she was capable of it, more her frustration finally coming to a head, and for a moment, she wanted to hit the wall, just bash it in until they found the back-up fuses or something. She didn't know, but still, she gave a huff before pale blue eyes started scanning the walls. "Maybe we should paint it or something."

Okay, Mels could find that. The little calico didn't want to stray far from the others, so she stayed put for now, but her eyes were scanning the walls to no avail. Re: THOUSAND DOLLAR SHEETS | ESCAPE CHALLENGE - VERSAILLESPALACE - 08-14-2018 Versailles' eyes linger on the crude scrawl, eyeing the small star that could be anywhere and nowhere within the Observatory. She doesn't recall having seen a marked panel before, whether above or below ground, and she doubts any of them would end up finding it soon given the darkness of the Observatory, the emotions of its people, and the sheer infinitesimal size of the identifier. Still, she tries not to let herself be harrowed by the factors stacking against them, and gives the drawing one last, hard look before taking a step back. She isn't quite sure why having to search in pairs is a good idea, but figures it's more to make sure nobody would wander off and accidentally fall into the basement, where they would undoubtedly get lost further and further until they can no longer be reclaimed. Still, despite knowing that it would be beneficial, she does not look forward to it, and wonders whether anybody would even bother pairing up with her given the... circumstances. They know each other better than any of them know her, and that itself is already an indicator that she shouldn't bother waiting around for someone to pair with. Save herself the trouble. It's best to wait. The voice murmurs in her ear like the sound of a heartbeat, pressing the letters into its shell in rhythmic patterns. Versailles listens, listens and waits - she might as well give it a few seconds, give it a few minutes, might as well wait before giving up. I THOUGHT THAT LOVE WAS A KIND OF EMPTINESS VERSAILLESPALACE A. Re: THOUSAND DOLLAR SHEETS | ESCAPE CHALLENGE - Roy Mustang - 08-14-2018
This lockdown was becoming worse and worse with each passing day. Back when it all began, Roy thought it was going to be a couple hours, not days. It was insane to be locked inside a building with no power for days. They're running out of food. As well as herbs- also being stuck in here with no power also means there's a higher chance that illness will spread. They're all confined in the observatory, stuck breathing the same air without circulation- if they don't get out soon there's going to be a huge health problem. The melanistic bobcat was the next one to pad in- Roy wasn't able to sleep at all. How could he peacefully sleep knowing that majority of the clan is either stuck inside or out? Roy couldn't close his eyes for long without worrying about a potential fire without ways to escape it and possible sickness spreading. When the male made his way over, his blue eyes narrowed at the sight of the mechanical star. "So, we've spent days without power, running of out food and herbs, stuck inside the observatory when this could have been a simple fix in hours?" The Flame Alchemist spoke up with a frown, not overall pleased on how long it took them to figure this out. But, Roy wanted to get out as much as everyone else. They're looking for a mechanical star similar to that, which should have back-up fuses in it. Apparently Bastilleprisoner wanted them to look in pairs, so the male's eyes began to scan the members who gathered. His gaze first landed on Versaillespalace, who was in charge of that group with Roy. It'd probably be best if they worked together, as they have the experience. The flame alchemist made his way over to the panther with a flick of his ear, gaze locking on her. "I'll look around with you if you haven't been paired yet," He commented with a slight frown, not really waiting for an answer. Re: THOUSAND DOLLAR SHEETS | ESCAPE CHALLENGE - ★ HAZEL - 08-14-2018

as love filled night gives way to day
Hazel trotted over at the call, ears twitching. Her immediate question was how long he'd known of something that might lead to their escape, though she didn't linger on it; anything that could get them out sounded like heaven to her. Her anxiety was starting to reach levels that made Hazel nervous - nerves on nerves - because she wasn't entirely sure she'd be able to control the breakdown she'd reach. She just wanted to get out, just wanted to breathe in the fresh air.
Still, she forced herself to snort softly at Bastille's messy sketch, her practice for art having fallen out of hand but her eye for the concept still sharp as ever. She frowned slightly at his words, brow furrowing at the idea of it being anywhere in the observatory. "If it's to get the generators running again, wouldn't the panel most likely be in the generator room?" She mumbled, nearly to herself. It made the most sense, as she was guessing that the observatory's inner workings and wires wouldn't be spread all over creation. ooc sky fuckin ninja'd me and im too lazy to edit my post smh © MADI

Bastille didn't want to think about how simply the solution to their woes was, honestly. He was vaguely irritated that the answer had been there all along, wedged in with Starry's papers and notes; hell, he'd looked at this crude sketch before and dismissed it, given that it wasn't with its related notes about its use. He wished that Starry had made it even easier by offering a location for the panel, but that was asking for too much, it would seem. He scowled at Roy's commentary, but only because he felt similarly. [b]"Evidently," he snorted, gaze flickering over Thea and Mel before locking on Vi. Roy approached his sister before he could, and he simply offered Vi a nod as if to confirm that she was alright pairing up with Roy. The bobcat was rough around the edges, but Bast grudgingly trusted him with Vi; after a brief eyeing of Roy, he turned towards Hazel. "They've checked the generator room, but I guess they wouldn't know what they were looking for, so we might as well double-check it," he commented dryly, evidently deciding she was coming with him as he headed off in that direction, "C'mon, let's go look." [W]iskerONISION M.F. [div style="background-color:#806A71;width:90%; overflow: stretch;text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt;"]Slowly, at the call of his mentor, Onision can running over, his ears twitching despite the still-stinging ear wound. God fucking fuck, he just had to go and rip out his piercing, didn't he? Skidding to stand beside Roy, the stubborn Fireball gave him a nasty glare before turning to bound up next to Bastilleprisoner, brushing against his leg with his much smaller body. "Can't we take tools and destroy the wall to find the circuits?" He asked, tilting his head to the side. He figured that destroying everything was the better method. He was chaotic, after all.
Re: THOUSAND DOLLAR SHEETS | ESCAPE CHALLENGE - Warringkingdoms - 08-15-2018 Whether it be due to the darkness or the dust, her illness had returned with a vengeance the night of the incident. She had stayed in her room as much as she could, to avoid spreading it to anyone else. It probably wouldn’t kill anyone, but the symptoms would be a massive pain to deal with in the midst of a lock-in. At Bast’s declaration that they could free themselves by finding a specific panel, though, she had deemed herself well enough to go back outside and headed over to the Grand Circle. Overhearing Onision’s suggestion that they wreck the wall, she shook her head. ”We’d be more likely to potentially break the switch that way, which would get us stuck for longer,” she answered. Seeing Bast and Hazel headed off towards the generator room, she asked, ”Need any more help?” The generator room probably was the best place to look, and three heads was better than two, especially when the two heads had enough romantic tension between them to choke a soap opera fanatic. (A bizarre phrase, but it made sense to her when she’d thought of it.) Re: THOUSAND DOLLAR SHEETS | ESCAPE CHALLENGE - Zjarr - 08-15-2018 [div style="width: 45%; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 13px;"]So they could've left a long time ago? If they found a fucking star? What is this, a Dora the Explorer episode?
"Ohhh, shit, okay," the wolf sighed softly as he watched the Astral Seraph sketch...whatever that thing was and request that the group split into smaller pairings. Admittedly, he shouldn't care that much about a stupid drawing, but he found himself loathing the sloppiness of it. He was never a perfectionist—until it came to art. He was an unheard of artist, but that didn't meant he wasn't one. Shaking his large cranium to rid himself of pettiness over a silly little sketch, the demon trailed after the group and found himself looking about for a partner, his metallic claws clicking rhythmically against the solid, freezing floor of the Observatory. Well, damn. Where was he to go? Zjarr had trouble deciphering how he could fit into the situation and find a solution, but perhaps finding at least one other decent person to work with was a reasonable start. "Um, anyone need some help?" he inquired aloud as his unnaturally heterochromatic hues traced the solid walls of the building, searching for things that were out of place. Nope, everything seemed...exactly the same. In here, at least. He'd have to keep hunting. [glow=#f24b00,2,300]how'd it get so scandalous?[/glow] — ☼ |
