Bastille rarely discussed his past. For one thing, it was far too confusing and annoying to even think about the fact that he had three souls; much as he hated to admit he was those assholes, technically they were his past, too. Technically he was Echo and Pollutedsoul and Zaniel. Technically he was a fucking failure thrice over, and a time bomb waiting to go off — oh, he was going to crash and burn. That was a given. It was jus a matter of when and how much he cared when the time came. And never mind Grimmkit and the strange history he brought into play...

But as for Bastillepaw, for the present life he lived, there wasn’t much to say for his life. His mother died in labor, he hated her Clan, and he’d lived the life of a loner from the age of 3 months until now. There was nothing he particularly cared or wanted to talk about with anyone unless they really bothered to ask him, and even then he was usually the one receiving stories, not telling them. So, that was that.

Except his head was splitting open and he was going out of his mind with how fucking back his head hurt and for how long it had hurt. He was going crazy. He was absolutely losing his shit, and today, it seemed like all three of his souls were vying for their chance to live freely once more. He could practically taste their aggression, and his head was spinning with a mess of memories. Flickering plains, roaring water, a dark mansion— familiar faces and names and events and he was going to lose it if Echo said one more goddamn thing—

”GODDAMNIT, ECHO, SHUT UP,” he yelled suddenly, stopping dead in the center of the observatory as it was just too much. He grit his teeth tightly, as if realizing he’d burst, but he was shaking with anger and energy and holy fuck they were all just screaming in his head—

His fur was glowing that ominous black once more, throbbing in time with his pounding head, and he was looking a little... faint around the edges. As if his invisibility was flickering briefly, hovering vaguely, not quite going haywire just yet...

And then the power abruptly went out, plunging the Observatory into darkness.

this young boy is a problem you should call it in ! - tags
While the yell from Bast had caught his attention, he didn't exactly plan on going to ask what it was about. Maybe there was just some member out there bugging him, which Immortal wasn't exactly how true that could be. For the simple fact that he didn't know anyone by the name of Echo. Still, it wasn't that big of a deal. Until the fucking power went out and his room immediately went dark. It was a little frightening. He jumped from his bed, "Woah, what the fuck!?" He took Bast's yelling and the power going out completely unrelated. After a few moments to allow his eyes to adjust, he shoved open his door and marched down the hall to the stairs. "Who the hell turned off all the lights!?" he called as he got to the top, looking around for the culprit.

Luna had been lounging around, reading a book- when Bastille had yelled at the top of his lungs at somebody called "Echo". Puzzlement could be seen clearly in her eyes and she opened her mouth to question the Fireball but was interrupted when the power suddenly went out.

Forcing herself to stay calm and collected, Luna jumped to her feet, hurrying to her apprentice. "Bastille." She said, a paw shaking him a lot. She raised a brow at his glowing pelt and she murmured. "How odd. Perhaps it's some sort of rare gene or a special power."

Re: SOUL WARS | open + power out - Starrynight ! - 04-03-2018

//OOC

The white-and-purple feline was in his room a lot. His bed was dusted in a fine glittery substance that always seemed to be left behind by the aura surrounding his forepaws. Currently he was somewhat bored, gripping the edge of the control table and using it to spin himself around and around on the swiveling chair. He was dizzy, but the useless activity was kind of fun, so he kept at it. His ear twitched when there was a shout outside. His momentum slowed to a halt just as the power went out, a low humming fading into silence as electrical activity ground to a halt. Dizziness caused him to fall right out of the chair as he stood up. Hitting the ground with a thud, Starrynight let out a huff of air. "Ow." That hurt.

Pushing himself to his paws as he slowly adjusted to the dark with the help of the light emanated from his paws, his heart quickened in pace as he looked around the empty room. The silence was deafening. He could hear his pulse roaring in his ears. He could imagine the shapes moving in the corner of his eyes, causing his gaze to dart around. His legs shook a little- but he forced himself forward. Everyone else would be outside in the grand circle, right? Right?

With a shaky inhale, he picked up in pace as he shoved his way outside. Despite the much larger room, his claustrophobia threatened to crush him as his throat tightened. Starrynight could feel the tears welling in his eyes, but the panic faded abruptly as he looked up. The stars were out. The moon was nearly full, but waning- it shed a soft light on the observatory. Taking a slow, deep breath, he forced himself to relax as he spotted Bastillepaw. Shuffling forward, he asked softly, "What happened to the power? Do you know?"

For a brief moment, there was nothing. Silence. His headache seemed to have faded, the restless energy, the screeching of his souls in his head... gone. As the darkness settled, so did all of the chaos within him, as if the power surge had effectively shut Bastille off, too. He stood still, blinking, staring into the darkness -- more shocked by the sudden peace than anything else. After all, Bast had never had any control over electricity before; it wasn't like he expect this power out to be his own doing, and therefore he had no reason to assume as much and be all shocked over it.

Instead, he was simply relieved and surprised by the reprieve. As the others started to take notice, the Fireball glanced up, blinking as his vision adjusted to the darkness. He could hear HD shouting somewhere up above, and he smirked slightly. Served him right, for throwing glitter all over the damned Observatory. Luna's voice closer by brought his attention back to the present, and he glanced towards he with a slight tilt of his head. "What is?" he questioned, jolted by her paw on his shoulder. The pulsing black glow seemed to have vanished with the power as well, though Bastille had yet to notice the glow she was speaking of. The first time it had appeared, he'd been unconscious; and since then, it seemed to come briefly, in pulsing flashes, always while Bastille was too worked up and distracted to notice.

A faint thump from the control room alerted him to Starry's presence, and sure enough, the leader was there moments later. Bastille could sense something vaguely distressed about his aura, a thickening anxiety, but before he could say anything Starry seemed to be calming down. At the question, he shrugged. "Beats me. Might be a power surge, though it's not storming out. I guess we probably just have to flip the fuses." It's not like he realized it had been him, after all.

(Though the sudden peace and quiet in his head was suspicious, Bastille was pointedly not thinking about it in case it all came rushing back to him.)
