WHATEVER IT TAKES / private - COSMIIX - 08-10-2018 Being in the Ascendants didn't seem to ease these reoccurring nightmares of his and all of them were the same, over and over again. Where he and Steve would argue, Stark would say something so horrid that he wished he couldn't even speak, and Steve went to go rescue a trapped child within the building that wasn't at all stable. Every time, Stark wasn't able to move but only uttered out a silent whisper as chills went through his body. He'd fall the building collapse and he'd finally be able to move but he was always too late. The child being the only thing that was saved whilst Steve was lost in the rumble, Stark never found him in his nightmares and he believed it was for the best. He thought the nightmare would only get worse if he actually found Steve crushed or impaled by bits of a building, these dreams were often too realistic for his liking and by now, he believed that Steve had actually died and the thought broke his heart and made it ache. Tonight, it was worse. He woke up in a cold sweat and his breathing was ragged, his pupils were wide as he sat up quickly with his entire body shaking and his claws dug into the ground underneath him. "S-S. . . St. . . eve. . ." He finally said in a quiet voice though he didn't stay in his room for too long as he hobbled out of there quickly startling and waking up Dum-E, his robotic kiwi, though the wolfdog didn't stay there for too long as he dashed out into the open with his breathing becoming shaky.
He ended up in the Ascendants canopy where there was several trees with his breathing still quick, his body pressed against a tree. His ears twitched a bit trying to pick a few sounds and would hear an angry grunt from the side, Stark would lift up his gaze to see that it was a bear. The said bear would rise to its hind legs to intimidate the canine which wasn't very hard to accomplish as the dog would stumble back with his ears pressed against his ears "Hey Sunshine bear, p-piss off. . . Go back to Carealot." The wolfdog peeled his lips back to reveal his ivory fangs, the Akita mix would take a few steps back feeling the fur along his spine spiking up a bit as his muscles bunched up with tension. The bear immediately took Stark's defensive stature as a challenge thus causing the grizzly bear to suddenly swat the canine to the side and bite down on the back of his neck. This got a yelp out of Stark and the bear seemed encouraged by this as it continued to throw powerful blows at the dog, Stark eventually writhed out of the grasp of the large predator. He stumbled back until his back was pressed into the bark of a tree with both ears pressed to his cranium "A-alright, maybe I deserved that. . . B-but it was funny. . ." A pained yet cocky smirk formed on his maw as the bear snarled and lifted its paw ready to kill Stark. "Being killed by a Carebear. . . Not the greatest death. . . But, I guess. . ." Everything always seemed to come full circle for Steven Grant Rogers. Somehow everything linked up in some twisted and ironic way, a bittersweet melancholy mixture. Later in life perhaps he'd look back and smile on the memories, tell stories of them and rekindle them. However now was not that time, Steve was still sat balancing in the middle of no man's land. On one hand he could easily return to Stark and they could exchange awkward smiles and then perhaps they'd link up together again. Or perhaps Stark had already moved on and forgotten everything that the duo had been through, what they had kept between them. Albeit their relationship was confusing, Steve hadn't been able to remove his feelings from the difficult male. Their love was akin to a childhood love, hushed but exchanged between small smiles and giggles. In the simplest terms it was endearing, but the thought that Stark had already forgotten and moved on was enough to keep Steve at bay for multiple months. Instead the soldier focused on training himself in his new body, helping out loners who needed it and spending time aligning himself. Within those months that he was gone, the former lion had died in a fight, his throat torn out by a pack of wild hyenas who laughed as they attacked. The memory alone was enough to still make Steve's muscular shoulders tremble ever so slightly. Of course he couldn't stay dead however, that would have been much too simple for his lifestyle. Instead, for the fourth time he was brought back to life by whatever God was laughing at him. It seemed pointless to the male at first, but eventually he became accustomed to being alive again. Death was not in his cards, not for a while. Fate always seemed to enjoy tossing him around anyways, but Steve always missed the humor in it. The strings of fate seemed to tie Stark and Steve together, like the moon and the Earth they seemed to orbit each other, but always just out of reach. It was bittersweet, for the two mentioned and for everyone else who watched them play out. It was a tedious game but Steve was willing to play if it meant that he would catch a glimpse at his Earth. As fate would have it, Steve would be wandering nearby searching for some food to forage for a family of small felines he had met previously. The muscular Golden Retriever was alert, nose buried near the ground and ears perked for anything that might be trying to find him. It was quick but Steven had heard something scuffle alongside the ground and before thinking he reached out and snapped his jaws over a rabbit who had been hiding among the brush. This was a start. Picking it up, the canine would begin to walk back towards the family when he heard a bear growl and snort. Hearing a yelp from another canine, Steven would take off running with the rabbit still locked in his jaws. "Being killed by a Carebear. . . Not the greatest death. . . But, I guess. . ." Dropping the rabbit, Steve would bunch his back legs and attempt to leap onto the bear without much thought. It was likely he'd end up injured himself within the attack, in fact it was almost impossible he'd get out of here free of any injuries. Still, his moral compass was too pointed North to simply choose to ignore the fact that he could have helped whoever this was. Steven Grant Rogers could and would not simply walk away from this. So instead here the blue eyed Golden Retriever was, attacking a bear and yelling at a random stranger. "Run! Get outta here!" Steve wasn't sure how he'd get himself out of this predicament once he got the other male out of here, but he would figure it out. He always did, somehow. "speech" Re: WHATEVER IT TAKES / private - COSMIIX - 08-11-2018 Stark had died plenty of times so he didn't think there would be much of an issue if he died by Sunshine Bear over here, it was always the same. Darkness with a sudden feeling of being cold and alone. He closed his eyes for a brief second only to reopen them to see a flash of gold that had leapt onto the bear that was snarling in sudden frustration, the wolfdog didn't have much time to think as the random canine told him to get out of there and run. He could run away but he was much too stubborn to let himself become the damsel in distress, the thought almost made a snort escape him but instead he would growl "Thanks but no," He rose shakily to his paws before he would lunge at bear's face biting down on its muzzle, his arc reactor glowing in the darkness. The wolfdog managed to scramble onto the bears shoulder and caught a glimpse of the Golden Retiever, Stark flicked his ears back digging his claws into the bears back. The canine squinted "Alright hero. . . I have a proposition." He almost fell off once the bear rose on its hind legs to try and get rid of them but Stark held on as he bit down on the bears scruff saying through a mouthful of fur and skin "As much as I love playing the damsel in distress for you heroines. . . I say we both run." Then without waiting for much a reply, he would concentrate on moving a bit of the earth to curl it around the bears hind legs.
He would feel a bit of blood dribbling from his nose and his head starting to hurt a bit, once he thought the bear was trapped enough would the wolfdog aim to shove the other dog off. He ended up landing on the ground hitting his stomach and a bit of his reactor, he would grunt but hastily rise to his paws. He would start to limp away further from the bear, he supposed he should have thanked the other but he ended up tripping and falling down a hill into a meadow of flowers. He was still bleeding and his head hurt slightly due to the usage of his powers, the Akita mutt would lay there starting to think of the stranger and wondered if he had ran off in a different direction but he wouldn't know at all. Since he hadn't paid much attention, he closed both of his eyes tilting his head a bit to see that it was still night. He didn't know how much more time until it was sunrise. He shook his head with frustration "Stupid n-nightmare. . . Stu-stupid feelings." He would have thought that these feelings had died but they had only gotten worse, he recalled when he and Steve shared a room mainly to keep "warm" yet that hadn't lasted long soon the other had disappeared outta the blue leaving Stark alone with his own thoughts, which wasn't the best. These thoughts manipulated him. What if Steve found someone else? What if he didn't come back? What if he left because of him? So many what ifs and it had frustrated the male, sometimes he'd stay up in night taking a grip onto the things that belonged to Steve the things that still smelt of the lion. The only comfort he had yet they hadn't lasted long due to Stark always huddling up into them. It made him angry. "God. . . You're so stupid." He said with a shake of his cranium as he let out a soft breath "Such a dumbass Stark." He continued to lay there not saying another word despite all the wounds he had received from the bear. "As much as I love playing the damsel in distress for you heroines. . . I say we both run." This guy was definitely a smartass, though it was a change of pace from his usual slow drawl of people who merely thanked him and went on with their day. This guy was different and that alone was enough to spark his interest, y'know, besides the fact that he was currently being attacked by a bear. Hearing the crumbling of earth moving, Steve would gaze down with his baby blue eyes to see earth moving over the bear's hind legs. "Running works for me." Oh yeah, powers existed. Furrowing his metaphorical brows the canine would roll off the bear when it swung its head around growling. Although he landed weird and a jolt of pain shot up his right front leg, it didn't seem to be injured more so just an uneasy landing. Seeing the Akita mix rolling down a hill Steve shot one last look to the bear before darting after the male. "Stupid n-nightmare. . . Stu-stupid feelings." This guy didn't seem okay. Granted Steve wasn't okay either, but this guy seemed almost worse off, plus the injuries. It was alarming for Steve because personally he already was bad enough off. Wagging his tail once the canine would pad closer to Stark, although he didn't know that it was Stark. Not yet, anyway. Blinking his babyblue eyes, Steven would paw slightly at the ground. "Hey uh, Sir? Are you okay?" Perhaps there was something he could do to help the other male, at least he hoped. Perking his ears, the handsome male would await a response from his future boyfriend. "speech" Re: WHATEVER IT TAKES / private - COSMIIX - 08-12-2018 He was going to be honest, he hasn't expected for the other to follow him and well the wolfdog would slowly rise with his ears pinned against his head. He snorted at the sir bit looking at the other with a slightly raised up eyebrow, the mutt would twitch his whiskers slightly as he let out a soft breath with a shake of his cranium "Please refrain from using sir. . . It makes me feel old," A small smirk was etched onto his maw and would shake himself briefly with the ground around them being splattered with a bit of blood "I'm fine. I usually get roughed up a bit anyways it was a matter of time and it was a bit overdue." He decided to jest around a bit though he would frown a bit looking at the Golden Retriever through his brown eyes "Call me Stark. . ." Little did he realize that this was Steve though he wouldn't know that, the wolfdog couldn't help but growl a bit in frustration realizing how much taller the male was compared to him and wolves were usually taller than any regular canine. He would sit down once more wincing at the sting of his wounds, he started to look around the meadow he was within trying to find some cobwebs or marigolds. He found a few and started to chew on it slowly applying it to his wounds and would glance over at Steve once more with a tilt of his cranium "You. . . Remind me of someone,"
He shook his head finding a few cobwebs putting them on his pulp covered wounds, the wolfdog would let out a soft breath "Never mind, he's gone. . ." He would rise to all fours once more with a light shake of his head making sure that his gaze was turned away so the pain wasn't visible to the stranger "Well, thanks for uh, saving me. . . I guess," He blinked a few times to try and hide the pain of the stranger somehow reminding him of someone he cared about so dearly. "Who are you anyways? . . . Before I go back. . ."
