the girl still, despite everything, wasn't sleeping. it wasn't like she wasn't trying. she rested within the submarine and laid down and tried to fall unconscious - she even took the tea rosemary had taught her to make, but it didn't last long. the nightmares had returned and she could not escape the fear and guilt she felt every moment now, no matter where she went. what was she to do? the only thing she did know to do: work. not the same kind anymore. she couldn't do that, even she realized that. her legs were not the same. walking felt terrible and was an incredibly difficult process. her body fought with her each time she moved and her legs shook furiously. the stick she had grabbed was helping, but it still wouldn't change the fact that her legs did not want to move. she couldn't stand staying within the submarine now, though. walking around, at the very least, was productive. she could continue to say hello to everyone and continue to make sure everyone was okay. she needed to make sure they were okay. they were in danger because of her. just the thought alone of this brought her intense panic and she was constantly on the verge of tears now. so, goldenluxury pushed herself out of the submarine, despite the struggle, despite the pain, despite the guilt. she needed to go on a walk. a short one. she needed to know that everyone was okay. she couldn't fall behind again. she had just caught back up. she leaned heavily on her stick, lynn hopping beside her quietly, her hind legs dragging close to the ground as they shook with each step. |
