checking windows [...] dreaming of sunlight - lessa - 08-08-2018

✯ — honestly, it's just me, brainlessly, so silly, always hoping for good to be
Truth be told, Lessa had been... Distant during the meeting.  Her mind, as it simply seemed to be these days, had been far away.  Nonetheless, she did manage, with a small amount of comprehension, to learn she was heading one of category c's groups with Anzarel - his was the only name she remembered however.  The marten hoped they'd been paying more attention to her, especially since after the lights went out she'd fallen into the hold of a panic attack.

Anxieties aside - and they were plaguing her immensely - there was work to be done.  Bast had given them a job to do and Lessa planned on acting, if just to have the outlet.  Force knows nobody needed the Halo pacing all day, or worse, curled up in a ball trying not to completely withdraw.  She was still struggling with the situation everyone had found themselves in.  She wanted more light.  She wanted the freedom to get out.  Ever since the doors locked, she felt like the walls were closing tighter and tighter around her.  Crashing in.  Her lungs sometimes forgot how to work in those moments.

Which was no good once she realized she might be a negative affect on Shine, who was stuck on the other side of those force-forsaken doors.  She hated knowing her anxiety might be bleeding through their connection at any moment.  That'd been one of the reasons, from the very start, she'd fretted about their bond.  She was just a hinderance really.  The Halo imagined he'd disagree, as would everyone else who'd once shared a similar connection with her but she was rather sure of it.

If she was working, putting her mind and paws to something, at least she'd be distracted.  Focused.  Doing something productive.  Then her mind wouldn't be going into overdrive, overreacting and causing problems.

Her visible eye flickered as she found a place to sit, close to the walls of the Grand Circle.  The scrawny marten had sent a few messengers around, requesting those in her group to meet up so they could get started on their window-investigation.  If there was even a single openable window, Lessa was sure she could fit through it, small as she was.  If she could just do that, she could easily get supplies in and out as they continued to try to find a solution to this.

One could hope... But truth be told she was tired of being the 'optimistic' one.  Really, she'd just be glad to see some light coming through.

[div style="text-align: justify;"]The thought of just using the Force to open the doors had crossed his mind. Anakin however.... couldn’t. No. He shouldn’t. He shouldn’t because he wasn’t suppose to mess with mortal problems. Not everything required divine intervention and he didn’t need to give the world a helping hand.
It was the wrong thing to do.

Learning he had been partnered with Lessa was... odd. Maybe after enough time it was the students time to become the master. Or Bast did that on accident.

He floated along with them, cloudy appendages that were akin to legs and paws moving along side them. The lion wore his Jedi robes, big poofy mane fighting the collar as a tail wavered carefully. He was quite handsome for a lion. Big and strong, broad and without a scar on him. Not even that stupid eye scar. He, despite the situation, seemed very calm and stoic. Maybe he was putting on a face, or he was just that collected.

He was like a glowstick around them- Anakin’s heavenly body flowed with radiance and his presence was a sun cheering you on.
Maybe he was on the right group after all.
Lessa hadn’t seemed to recognize him yet. He wondered if it was better that way.

[div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 55%; font-family: arial; font-size: 11pt; text-align: justify;"]Melody trailed after Anakin, looking up at Lessa with big eyes as they came to a stop. "We're checking if any.. windows are open." She said, loudly, just in case any of them didn't know what they were doing. Still, the calico's eyes scanned the walls, and it looked nearly pitch-black. She wasn't feeling hopeful.

The lion was, she realized, the sudden source of light she'd seen earlier.  All wispy and... Well, it gave her a very Jedi-like impression, even if he had not been wearing the robes.  The thought of him being a Force-ghost of all things... It brought a small frown onto her face.  She had been... Rather cut off, lately, from the Force.  Her senses were what was considered normal now, and she could no longer feel everyone's presences, or move things with her mind.  No visions or premonitions - not that was something she truly missed or had too many before.

Even if she had not been cut off... She probably would've felt cut off. Far away from it all.  Perhaps she was never meant to be any kind of Jedi.  What good had it done her, truly?

So she frowned for a moment, brows creasing as she pondered just what the ghost of a Jedi of all things was doing out here, in the Ascendants, before turning her tired eye on the second arrival.  So, she had a kitten to keep track of.  The Halo did not mind; children were one of her soft spots.  "T-that's right," she murmured, offering a small smile.  "I t-think we still have... T-two others... Th-then we can get started." Though there was not much hope.

"O-oh 'm Lessa... B-by the way," she added softly, one of her torn ears flicking.  Since she had ran into neither prior, she assumed they might not know who she was.  Mostly, she wanted the younger feline to be comfortable; it was probably a little scary working with unfamiliar faces, especially in the dark.  Lessa could certainly understand that. "'m o-one of your Halos."

[div style="text-align: justify;"]He glanced down at Lessa and Melody, then stopped, sitting down. A cloudy tail wrapped around himself and looked down at them with pupiless white eyes.
Lessa was definitely closed off from the force, and it had saddened him slightly. It... wasn't his busines, though. He wasn't suppose to mess with these things. Maybe Lessa would find herself again one day.

"I... am Bendu." Fake name. Maybe that would throw her off enough. Anakin's presence had changed. Vader's presence had been a cold black void, devoid of thought and out for death. Anakin was a bright, happy sun. He encouraged those around him and tried to make everyone better.
Like his presence on the battlefield long ago.

He looked down at Melody and gave her a small smile. "I take residency at the Starpool. It has a lot of good energy."

[div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 55%; font-family: arial; font-size: 11pt; text-align: justify;"]"Nice t' meet you both!" The kitten said politely, before blinking up at Bendu/Anakin. "Can you see with good energy?" She asked; in her little mind, if it couldn't be used to see, then  right now it didn't matter. She didn't know what a Halo, was either, but she didn't want to ask. The kitten sat down, wanting to get moving and check windows but not wanting to rush off alone - after all, the dark was full of terrors. She didn't want to voice these things, though, in case the adults decided that actually she was too much trouble and left her in the dark anyway.

The calico shuddered, suddenly feeling a chill as her mind drifted to her uncle. If he was here, he'd probably leave her again first chance he got. Or maybe he'd rise to the occasion and protect her from the dark. Tears pricked at her eyes, her little paws wiping them quickly. Now wasn't the time, and the adults would definitely leave her if she was some crying brat. Still, staring at her paws, the dark seemed to pull at her, tainting everything it touched. She could almost see it looming over her, grabbing at her with shadowy claws. The tears welled with fear as she got up and pressed her muzzle into Bendu wordlessly, sniffling.

[div style="text-align: justify;"]"Bendu" looked down at the kitten, head tilting at he question.
"Uh, no. I use energy to feel and since things... Unless you mean visions, that's a thing." He admitted, laying down to be more eye level with her. "What about you, Lessa?"

Lessa added 'Bendu' to her list of known previous Jedi.  She'd never heard of him, but most of the Jedi had been dead since she was born, so it was not really odd.  She nodded quietly, supposing the Starpool made sense, although whenever she was close to the clear body of water, she felt next to nothing.  It was a beautiful, serene place, and she definitely felt some of the mystical energy, but not as strongly as she perhaps would have before.  The marten was almost surprised at how little it bothered her; but then, she had other concerns after all.

"C-can't see much of an-anything," the Halo murmured, shaking her head.  Her vision was already limited to one eye; in the dark it was an absolute nightmare.  How she hated the pitch dark.  ".. Used to see... Better," but that felt like a long time ago now.

She felt restless, wondering where their other two party members were, but uncertain if they should really wait too long.  They had a job to do after all.  Why the kriff did Bast thing it was a good idea to make her one of the two in charge?  She felt like jumping out a window, if they could find an open one that was.  At least then, the observatory wouldn't be separating her and Shine.  "P-perhaps we g-go on ahead," she offered, ear flicking, "a-an' maybe they'll c-catch up."
