This was easily the part of her patrol routes she despised the most, not that she would let anyone know that Felix, Sola, and Ophelia already knew and even then she had not told them. The reason her friends and daughter would easily know she disliked this part? Each of them knew the simple fact that she could not swim nor float, that she sunk quicker then rocks, the pressure of the water forcing her to exhale removing her ability to last until someone could rescue her. If she fell into the lake and someone was not literally almost right next to her? She would likely drown before they could reach her and considering she had drowned before it was an experience the calico was not eager to repeat. Heck, the only time she went into water willingly without the aid of another? Was when she was so beaten and hopeless that she didn't want to revive, no matter how many times her body tried to 'reincarnate' or her soul tried to go out of 'ghostmode' when she was underwater it just didn't happen. If she was really desperate? She could make water a tomb that kept her from coming back, or at least killed her again before she really got to realize she was alive again. Heck, she had done that for a while at one point after losing this place before, but someone had pulled her out and not let her go back in until she was 'better' but it had just been another mask.

Anyway's, walking along the coast of the lake made her internally uncomfortable even if nothing externally changed, she liked being alive right now. Observing the area around her with care the calico kept her steps light barely leaving even a single footprint in the mud, but since it was mud she clearly couldn't straight up leave no trace. Oh, wait! Yes, she could, and yes she was, by walking in her ghost mode. Years of being trained to leave no trace? Could not be undone for her, so whenever she had some way to not let other's know she was around unless she directly wanted them to know she was there, Jiyu did it. Of course, this affected other animals opinion of her towards the creepy side considering no one liked getting caught off guard and this mentality made her very good at sneaking up on almost everyone. Honestly, she sometimes admired animals who could just leap around as if the whole world needed to know they existed. Animals like that? Never had to worry about the loss the way she always had to, because they had so many friends and so much family that a single loss seemed like a drop in the bucket. Of course, with Jiyu's limited understanding of emotions, she didn't see just how dangerous more was.

Silently she spotted something that looked a lot like some kind of plant, growing under the shade a fallen log, something even she herself almost missed. While she could not tell what the mint plant was? Jiyu did mentally note to bring someone who actually cared about plants back later so they could see if it was anything the group needed. With the mental note, the calico continued her patrol, walking through a random box that happened to be laying on the lakeside.
