Pool Party - late weekly task - Morgan - 08-06-2018

Morgan's fluffy cream tail flicked from side to side as he closed his eyes in concentration. Before him lied the reason for his recent absence: a wide, deep pool full of purified water accompanied by an icy freezer full of ice pops. Since everything was in a relatively quiet side of the forest, the samoyed figured nobody would have found his project until he was finished.

The dog took silent, gentle breaths as he let his mind touch and caress the water before him. In an instant the liquid cooled down, defying the hot sun resting high in the sky. Morgan pulled some water out of the pool and shaped it into a curve, freezing it into a makeshift slide. He smiled at his handiwork, surveying every inch to make sure it was perfect. Once finished, he turned around and left to find company.

After running the short distance back to the town square, the samoyed barked out, "Pool party! I've set up a pool party for all Tanglers! Free ice pops and cold water for everyone!" He knew he was a bit late on the task Vigenere had assigned him, but he wanted to make sure he did the best possible job and make his partner proud.

Re: Pool Party - late weekly task - toboggan - 08-07-2018

The summer’s heat sweltered severely, and Leroy was panting madly. You’d think that hanging out in a swamp would kind of, you know, drive out the high temperatures. Well, you’d be wrong. Furthermore, it’s made all the worse when you take the bugs into perspective. It was hot, humid, and the insects were hostile. Which was why it was to his utmost pleasure when he heard someone shoot the phrase “pool party”, followed up by “free ice pops and cold water”, and to be frank, that was all he needed right now.

As he came closer, one of the two people there he recognized from the encounter from before with Abathur. Ooh, this would be interesting. Leroy didn’t have any current problem against the spider, and he had even apologized for freaking out before Vigenere confronted him. He didn’t want this topic to strike up a conversation, at a pool party no less, though Leroy felt that it was inevitable (unless Vigenere had matured the least bit since the last time they spoke). Assuming that the subject matter were to come up, he would be the better man, and not engage. Leroy wasn’t a fool, he didn’t dwell on the stuff of the past; the real business was the stuff happening in the future.

"’S a nice thing you’ve got here. Morgan, was it?". The other pup he had met before as well, back on the day he first joined. The fluffy one, the one of the few who wasn’t a complete nincompoop. By the looks of it, he could turn into freaking iceman, because Leroy could spot what looked like a waterslide made of frozen water. ”I like what you’ve done t’ this place. ‘T’s pretty cool.”

malphas padded over, narrowing his red eyes. vigenere was right- morgan was actually super reliable. no matter what, it got done. perhaps that was what morgan such a great deputy, and malphas hoped one day he'd see him become leader. deep down, malphas cared a lot about morgan since morgan had saved his life so many damn times it was hard to count. the least he could do was attend this stupid pool party.

"i don't like swimming," the dark cat complained, being a cat and all. "but gimme a fuckin' ice pop."

Re: Pool Party - late weekly task - ABATHUR . - 08-07-2018

A pool party. What a quaint idea, he thought, even if the word quaint made it sound like he thought himself above all of them, when really he just thought it to be interesting but not something he would invest in -

He should probably stop defending himself to an invisible audience, he thought, as his ability to explain himself was good enough and didn't need anymore training. The spider crawled over in his own uniquely rhythmic way, glancing two pale eyes of his eight over to Morgan, offering a somewhat apologetic, "Cannot swim." Even if he couldn't, he could still watch everyone, eat an ice pop, shiver at the cold as it permeated his body and messed up his internal temperature - that sort of fun thing. "Will take concessions," he said, to follow his first statement up, as he didn't want to be rude, especially since Morgan seemed so genuinely helpful that he didn't deserve Abathur's uncaring side.

The first few arrivals made the samoyed even more excited than before; with his tail wagging harder than ever, he approached the freezer to take out some frozen treats. "Thanks, Leroy," he said, bringing him an orange ice pop. "Here you go." He stepped toward Malphas next, handing him a red ice pop, and then gave the nearby Abathur a purple one. Finally, he took out two yellow ice pops and padded over to Vigenere. "Of course - I wanted to do my best for you." He winked as he gave the ice pop on his right a long lick up and down its length, then floated the one on his left over to the Regent. "For you, my Vigenere." He floated his own ice pop into his mouth, enveloping it with a satisfied smile.

The cream dog motioned for the yellow feline to follow him to the edge of the pool, sticking his paws into the cool water as he enjoyed the fruity flavor of his treat. "I hope you all enjoy," he barked, hoping the group could hear him. Looking back at Vigenere, he murmured, "Maybe we can swim for a bit when we're done with these."

[align=center][div style="borderwidth=0px; width: 65%; line-height:120%; text-align: justify;font-family: verdana;"]A pool party? Ophelia couldn't say she'd ever been invited to one before. It only took her a few strides to reach the pool, her blue eyes flicking around at everyone that was attending. It didn't look so bad. Besides, the promise of cool water that she could use to help preen her wings a little was too good to pass up.

"This is lovely." she commented, unsure of what else to say. She was still getting used to being sociable, but she figured giving a soft compliment wouldn't be overstepping any bounds. With that said, she stepped down into the water, suppressing a shiver at the sudden difference in temperature. Still, it was enjoyable. Closing her eyes, she gave herself just a small moment to simply enjoy the feeling of cool water on her warm body. This was definitely nice.

Orange was the adult’s flavour of everything, yet simply setting his amber eyes on the frozen treat heralded a feeling of sheer childishness into the mongrel, who baked in the sunlight. The pool looked more-than-desirable, and the assurance of cold water was welcomed, though, weren’t swimming parties for children? "Many thanks," he intoned blessingly. Satisfaction immediately overcame him as the ice pop made it’s way into Leroy’s maw. No matter how juvenile he felt while dawdling around here, the wolfhound couldn’t deny he wanted to stay here and escape the unnecessary warmth of the air.
