— Often he's sporadic and undecided, acting out on his own whims. Attacks are unpredictable and have little to no pattern.

— Fighting is not his specialty, but torture. Maverick prefers to capture his prey in long-winded attempts at unpredictable times for the best effect.

HISTORY | HOW HE BECAME TO BE
Originally, he was with his parents who found him to be an odd-ball, but eventually they figured he was much more than that and started to discredit him for his achievements. Angered, he fled. As an imaginative teen, he had heard about the carnival that would take him away and he set sail on finding his dream home, eventually finding it with a group of outcasts. As a delusional, mentally-ill child he grew up with these bad influences. Even so, he rose through the ranks of the carnival with his expertise in all categories and his widely imaginative mind, but soon, things went south. His mentality began to degrade, causing his performances to lack his signature charm as he aged. The other carnies had noticed his lack of focus, odd outbreaks, and episodes throughout the months, bringing up their concerns after he had snapped on them out of nowhere. The ringmaster and his superiors simple ignored it, mistaking his mentality for odd quirks like the rest had. Soon they would realize their mistake.
During a performance, the "Marvelous Maverick" stared off into the distance with his gaze shifting rapidly, following an invisible figure. Little did the audience know, he was seeing visions off in the distance that were screaming at him about how horrible his act was and how he was a disappointment to his parents. Maverick, sadly, snapped. Growing irritable, he screeched out violently, whipping out a weapon from his tall socks, and hopped into the stands with a pocket knife pointed at the figure. His superiors had finally learned what he was capable of. The carnie had to be pulled away from the area by security guards while he screamed into the distance in fury at what to be appeared nothing.
Ultimately he was replaced within the day. Maverick, as per any firing, was furious with the decision and blew up in his bosses face with colorful threats that ranged from lemon juice and paper cuts to whacking his head against the side of a church. Truly, his mind was vivid. As soon as he left the room, he knew what he had to do. Meanwhile, the others had begun to call him 'Maverick the Mad'...
Later that night, a knife was to his replacement's throat as he loomed over him in disgust. Someone in the tent over heard the ruckus, dragging him away before he did actual harm, and jailed him inside her quarters until the Ringmaster could reach him. Upon arriving, his superior held no sympathy for him. Within minutes he was dragged into the biggest tent they had, thrown in the pit, and let the others watch as he was whipped like one of their lions. Maverick was left bloodied and beaten as they finished, expected to leave before the night was gone.
That grueling night was damned inside his mind until the dawn of time, causing him to spiral into madness. As he left, others followed through persuasion, creating a small group of strangers called the Berserkers who lashed out on those who frowned upon them wrong.
