the ocean you've cried [...] private - galexiux - 08-05-2018

She set this arena up a little bit differently than the other two. There were less obstacles and less cover. Which... was both a good and bad thing. The crow sat on her beginning perch, her eyes closed. She called both Nui and Henri ages ago and they should be showing up any minute. The electric lights above her head buzzed quietly with electricity. The room had a slick, waxed flooring, emulating the ice outside. An open window ruffled her feathers, Cry shivering slightly from the cold breeze. She opened her eyes as the doors opened. You two made it, She started, Good.

She opened her wings, dropping down onto the floor. I prepared an arena that I felt was a bit more fair than the usual ones. Henri, I know  you told me to treat you like a normal trainee, but I went through the liberty of removing a little under half of the cover blocks to prevent you from running into something you simply cannot see. She turned to Nui, scanning her over. She's seen how violent the cat can be before. She was not exactly looking forward to seeing a bloody battle. My usual rules are no claws, teeth or blades, but I will let you two come to agreement whether you want to include them or not yourself. I will shout out tips and advice to whoever I feel needs it most during the match. Henri, take a feel around the room if you wish. The crow nodded at the two, opening her wings. Best of luck to both of you. And she took off, taking perch in one of the corners of the room.

henri arrived before nui, but that was mostly just because he was eager to get some real experience in. cry spoke, allowing him to map out the area in his head before fighting, but he shook his head. "i need to simulate fighting in a completely unknown territory. the enemies aren't gonna let me go feel up their territory," he joked, offering cry a grin.

"and i want nui to use the full extent of her fighting abilities on me. she can use her claws, teeth, powers... whatever. i want to feel in danger," he said, voice shaky, but not out of fear- it was excitement. "i want to truly feel the rush of battle."

NUI HARIME
FEMALE
SNOWBOUND
POLARHEART!
狡猾 / THE SLY
TITLES: SNOWFLAKE

When she agreed to training those weeks ago, she never expected this.

Nui had nearly forgot it so, that she was somewhat surprised when Cry had called her.

Sparring was nothing new to her; yet it still had been so long. So long since she'd gone after someone without the attention to kill. Sparring meant training. Training meant holding back. Holding back meant acting soft.

Pass glided over the slick wax of the building's floor. It reminded her so much of the frost-gilded pools that littered snowbound's territory. A test to see how well they would do on unstable ground then. Stabling herself would be child's play. She was accustomed to this.

Claws slid quietly from their sheathe like silent daggers, quietly digging into the ground below.

She had only participated for her own satisfaction. There were times whete he blood just itched to exert itself in only the most basic way. For sweat. Foe strategy. Maybe judg a little a lot more blood. A fight was a fight.

Regardless of her opponent, she'd give them the honor of taking them at least a little bit seriously. Nui did not give free liberties to the handicapped. Underestimating an opponent because of obvious disabilities was a sure way to destruction. Henri could handle himself.

She took a moment to let her eye rove over the obstacles, taking in the various items laid about to stimulate a real battle arena.

His enthusiasm was something of a surprise to the polarheart. Wide eyes flitted, gazing at him carefully. He wanted to feel the full extent of the battle? Very well then. Who was she to decline?
"Alright," Casual acceptance came flitting from her lips, nonchalant and bright as always. She could bet that he heard much better than most; he needed a way to get around after all. Needed a way to feel around him. He could taste the air. Perhaps feel the tremors beneath his paws. It would be interesting to see how he'd react in response to her movements.

Rolling her lanky shoulders with a movement that bought a satisfied tension to her spine, nui slid forward towards her opponent on graceful paws, allowing the smooth floor beneath her to do her work, claws retracted only slightly as to not scratch the floor. Making noise when she attacks is the one thing she won't do. Make it easy for Henri, she will not.

Once she was within close proximity, Nui would attempt to lash out with a swift paw, aiming to hook her talons into one of Henri's ankles and yank harshly, dragging it out from under him with the intention to send him crashing to the floor.

She would never begin a spar with full power. Brawls were always sluggish for her. She'd need to work her way up to excitement; feel the blood pumping through her veins. Then perhaps Henri could get the thrill he seeked. Nui appreciated his enthusiasm.

"I hope you can learn something from me, as I will you!"
