mala suledin nadas — o. dual joining - REVAS - 08-03-2018

This isn't the kind of place that Revas thought he would ever stumble upon. His life had been a relatively repetitive one for all of these months (by which he means five and a half of them), though not entirely peaceful or kind. He's young, but there's something older about the fox's demeanor, a little more mature than he should be. Still, the boy is light, soft around the edges. His laughter is childishly harsh and free, pulling all sorts of unnatural sounds from his stomach and hot gasps from his lungs. The world has yet to beat freedom and joy from the young boy's chest, and he cherishes it. That's not to call him optimistic, or sweet, or — whatever similar word you want to use. Revas had simply learned to look forward in life. So when his mother died, he'd done what he needed to do: move. With a young(er) fox in tow and tired paws, he'd eventually found himself... Here.

It was beautiful, of course. For a second, Revas can't help but pause in his step and stare with wide, dark eyes. Then the fox cub remembers who's behind him and stops. When he turns around, the pale cream fox is a few strides back. He can't tell if it's exhaustion, awe, or some combination of both, but he has to keep him moving either way. "Hurry, Sulahn! Or the snail I saw a few miles back is gonna get there first."

Re: mala suledin nadas — o. dual joining - SULAHN - 08-03-2018

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-size: 9.5pt; line-height: 1.4;"]Sulahn lagged behind out of a weariness the child couldn't describe. His older brother had to be strong, but Sulahn- he had the luxury of grieving, and of a frustration with his own inability to understand everything happening. His mother -Revas', technically- was dead, and so was Sulahn's birth mother; both of them caught illnesses and died, months apart from each other, and the boy didn't know what to think of that. What if he was the reason they got sick? His birth mother died not long after he was born, but he could still remember bits of her, mostly how warm she was when he couldn't see or hear anything else. When she was gone, Revas' mother took him, and she was his mother as much as the other was, except now she went where they couldn't follow. It didn't escape Sulahn's notice that he was around when both of them passed, but he knew if he said anything about it to Revas, he'd just call him stupid, that there was no way he was responsible for it when he tripped over his own paws all the time.

He hoped he never found an answer, because if he did, it would mean someone else would have died too, and he didn't want to think of that.

Sulahn did his best to focus on how pretty this land was, the way Revas was doing. It was beautiful, he just couldn't wrap himself up in that completely, so he began to lag again, and when the darker fox turned to beckon him on, he had to pretend he was busy staring at a bright rock. "Hey, you're the line-leader! If anyone's slow it's you." The cream fox picked up his pace anyway, stumbling a bit before making it up to Revas' side, huffing indignantly.

MONROE
MALE — SUNHAVEN — SUNBEARER — HARD
Well, his day had been going pretty smoothly if he had to say so himself. Though he was still attempting to pick out his quarters he was enjoying life on land again. Or as much of it as he could until he had to delve back into the sea for a little R and R. But being up here brought back old members, seeking family brought back painful memories and it was a trial that he would have to endure till he was able to get over it. After all they didn't know who he was and that was a good thing in his book. The less they knew the better and he doubted they would believe that their beautiful sister had been turned into this hideous creature. He was fine. He'd lived like this so far and despite formerly hating it and cursing the very thing around his neck for causing it the mutant had become resigned to his fate. Life was a bunch of crap and learning to accept it was what got him through most days. It was just life. Thickly webbed paws pressed against one of the wooden boardwalks and he hauled himself up from the teaming waves, jaws full of kelp. What he was going to do with it was a mystery but he had it and he was dragging it across the ground toward the outer banks of the area.

That was until he heard the smallest of voices. He blinked pearl colored eyes, pupil widening just a bit before he tilted his head a little bit in surprise. There were kids here? Lifting his head up the mutated cat quickened his pace a bit, dragging the long stretches of kelp behind him because why not. Kids were adorable right? Well, he hoped these were adorable because running into an orca child had not been a very pleasant experience. A bit too feisty that one had been but the images playing in his head still allowed for him to chuckle lightly, a throaty movement because of his full mouth. He peeked around a thick bush to see two fox cubs, one had wings, both of which seemed excited at what they saw. Well, hopefully they wouldn't turn and run at the sight of him. Spitting out the kelp the hairless mutation stepped around the bush to greet them, keeping his muzzle tightlipped for now as he settled down, thick tail curling and asymmetrical fin pressed up against his chest. "Oi, kiddos. What brings ya to Sunhaven? Ya lost? Name's Monroe and I live here with some others."

Jericho has been spending the afternoon herb-collecting, for he's had a bit of free time and has already tended to his garden.  It feels much like the days before he became a leader or even Sunhaven in general.  It feels like he's just a medic again, with only his plants to care about.  He supposes that isn't really true at all, is it?  Even as a healer he's always spent his days worrying over his clan.  Maybe that's just the type of person he is.  But back then he'd spend hours out in the forest, just searching for useful plants or pretty flowers, and these days he feels like he's so much more busy.  It isn't a bad thing, being leader, but... he does miss those days spent in joyful fruitlessness.  Today he relishes in that feeling, gingerly plucking the stem of some mallow when youthful voices come drifting in the wind.  Flower still held carefully in-mouth, the little feline lifts his head and follows with pricked ears the sounds, unable to smell anything beyond the sweet nectar of the plant he carries.

He comes to a stop at Monroe's side, still ever-painfully unaware that the shark-like feline is his own flesh and blood.  Jericho bents for a moment to place the mallow at his paws before his head raises once more and, oblivious to his (former?) sister still, the tomcat focuses on the two foxes.  They seem young, judging by their voices and from what little he can sense about their height.  An exact age Jericho cannot guess, but he knows they're still children, and such is enough to cause his brow to furrow slightly at their being out here all on their own.  Though he knows not what they're doing out here alone, Monroe has asked most of the important questions.  The ginger tabby himself isn't sure what else to do except offer up a small, reassuringly kind smile in the vague direction in which he senses the duo.  "Ah, I'm Jericho... do you — " he begins to ask if they have parents, but he stops himself halfway through with a gentle gnawing on his lower lip.  Should the answer be no... well, perhaps it's best to word the question differently.  He clears his throat lightly with an awkward shifting of his weight on his paws and tries again.  " — I-I mean, are you two alone?" the Helion finishes this time, keeping his tone light despite his typical soft-spoken manner.
