Sand got kicked up as paws worked through it, a nose buried in the ground and a tail stuck up in the air as the wolf pup dug through the soft white sand.  Snare Mortem, the young minnow of the Typhoon with a high and mighty bloodline and an attitude as dry as the grin underneath him, was absolutely bored out of his mind.  Being seen as a child still by his crewmates, Snare’s options for activity were highly limited.  He could of course try to sneak out of the territory, but that seemed too risky. And he didn’t want his rights to be even more restrained then they were.  Still, it might be worth a shot…

Right now though the brown and red wolf pup was pleased just digging through the sand on the beach around the main hub of the camp, making a hole under him and a pile of sand gathering up behind him for his fuzzy tail to brush again.  The young male’s fur, already usually ruffled and mussy, was coated in a fine layer of sand and dusty material.  He’d have to wash off his pelt in a gentle tide after this little exploit.

If anything he was looking for entertainment.  Something, anything.  Perhaps he could dig right through the sand and find himself going to a new land, who knew?

Re: sneak 100 | open; intro - Luca - 08-03-2018

Luca had a bad history with Argus's children. He didn't know Snare's lineage yet, and perhaps it was for the best. It was true that Luca had been trying to improve himself lately, leave his past behind him and become a 'better person' (whatever that meant) but that didn't mean that he wouldn't be... tempted. After all, what better way to hurt a parent than through their children? The whole ordeal with Willow seemed to have really gotten beneath the skin of his enemy, especially when Luca started dating her afterwards. His original plan had been to break her heart, to scar her in more ways than one, but he would be lying if he said that he hadn't grown attached to her over time. What had started off as another way to hurt the wolf soon developed into genuine affection. But then she had disappeared, and Luca never saw her again. He was too afraid to ask Argus about the whole ordeal.

Luca squinted at Snare as he dug though the sand at camp. Just seeing the gritty sand that coated the wolf's fur made him shudder, the phantom feeling of being coated in dirt washing over him. He stuck his tongue out and shook out his fur, deciding to figure out what this pup was up to. "Hey, what're you doing?" He asked, sitting just a small ways away from the hole. "Diggin' for crabs or something?" When he was younger his brother used to say that if you deg beneath the air bubbles in the sand you'd be able to find a crab. Luca had never been successful, but god knows he tried.

”Digging, of course.”  Snare would say, dryly but not meanly.  He was in a neutral mood, bored but not frustrated or angry.  No need to be too snappy with this crewmate.  ”Not sure what I’m looking for.  Whatever you find in sand I guess.  Well, I’m looking for something to do.  Guess that counts for something.”  The puppy would turn and dip his nose back into the sand and nose about, snuffling and snorting through the grain.  Exhaling to keep the sand form his nostrils, Snare search for something for anything in the depths.

Wait!  There was something!  Small and cool against his muzzle.  ”Found something.  Not a crab though.”  Snare would comment, pawing and nudging about in the sand to unearth his treasure.  After a minute or so, the wolf pup emerged from his pit with something glittering dangling from his jaws.  It was a necklace, golden and smooth with two small white spheres, most likely tiny pearls, set in the center next to each other.  It was caked in sand so it wasn’t particular shiny, but with some cleaning it could be rather nice.  Nothing exceptionally fancy, but to the bored Typhoon minnow it was something interesting at least to examine.

✯ — YOUNG LOVERS AND THEY ARE NOT SLEEPING

digging was a past time that the striker often found himself investing for hours upon hours in the day. if it wasn't at the beach, it was beneath the roots around the tree houses. or between the seaweed beds that tangled around his paws whenever the tide pushed passed him. every morning he would leave his home with squeaky clean paws, and there was an eighty percent chance cap would return home with a sand-crusted pelt and filthy paws. as well as a stubborn father to help him clean up before dinner.

today was not a digging day, though. more or less one of wandering and sightseeing before heading over to the tavern. his attention caught on to luca, whom he was familiar, then snare, who he was not. the calico tom flicked his tail over his back and made a dash toward the pair, a smile spread across his maw.

"what'cha guys up to? i didn't think anyone would dig for treasure here for a while." he looked at the growing divot the young wolf had created, thinking of where else he had tried sniffing for anything on the same exact beach for so many weeks. he jumped back as snare dug something up, jaws open in awe. "woah..."
