[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 13px;"]"Ilijas?"

Beverly yawned and stretched as best she could in her seat, looking out the window to watch the other cars and houses pass them by. As she blinked away her grogginess, she began to process her surroundings and the music that played through the speakers. "Ilijas?" she spoke again, "Why do I hear banjo?"

The girl was well aware that, every time she fell asleep in the car, he would change the music back to his own, but she always liked to tease him for it.

[color=gray]"Okay, so listen, babe," Ilijas chuckled, tearing his gaze away from the road for a split second to glance at Beverly, [color=gray]"I need my folk music. You know how some people need oxygen? Yeah, not me. Just give me a good folk song and call it a day. But... If you must change it to that music you like, then I will hand over the aux cord because I love you and value your awful taste," He continued, using his spare hand to unplug his phone and pass the cord to Bev. He was joking, of course, but everyone knew that he loved teasing his girlfriend every now and again- besides, he'd never admit it but he actually enjoyed the things she listened to. He hadn't before meeting her, but after constant exposure, found that her music was just as good as his.

[color=gray]"One day though, I swear the banjo music will grow on you. Oh! And we're almost there by the way, I hope you're excited." In the midst of discussing the aux, he had forgotten that he had planned a bit of a surprise picnic for them. It was hours upstate and he was growing antsier to show her the place he had picked out by the minute, fingers drumming against the steering wheel. [color=gray]"God... I can't wait to whip out my camera and take pictures of you."

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 13px;"]Scoffing, Beverly rolled her eyes, crossing her arms as she did so. She couldn't hide the grin on her face when he called her babe: For as long as they'd been together, he still gave her butterflies, especially when he called her little pet names. She laughed softly as she picked up her phone and changed the music back to her playlist 'for our car rides.'

"My awful taste? Who even listens to shit like that, Ili?" They'd had friends in the past who had questioned the way they joked with each other, but they'd simply brushed them off, as the both of them knew when they were joking. And if the joke ever went too far, while it rarely did, they knew they could always vocalize that they were upset or uncomfortable.

At the mention of their destination, the dark-haired girl grinned. "How much farther? I'm getting antsy." Here's the thing about Beverly: She loved traveling, but hated the journey. Naturally, she loved the idea of driving upstate, but she was ready to get out of the car within thirty minutes.

He returned her scoff with one of his on, continuing to drum terribly out of time rhythms onto the steering wheel. [color=gray]"Look... That playlist has like, a million listeners! You can't deny the fact that there are people who like folk music. I bet deep down, you like it too. You're just too stubborn to admit it- don't even try to deny it either! I know you!" He insisted with another one of his hearty laughs, stealing one more glance at Beverly. She was playing the car ride playlist right? He followed all of her playlists on Spotify, listening to them whenever she wasn't around. Not that he'd ever tell her that though, she'd only further tease him about it.

[color=gray]"And hm... My interntal GPS says about ten more minutes. Can you hold out that long, babe?" Ilijas inquired. A natural traveler in every sense of the word, the young man appreciated both the journey and the destination. That didn't mean he still couldn't wait to get the good ol' Nikon out and take the most beautiful pictures of his girlfriend and the scenery though, no, not at all- in fact, he was practically speeding down the highway now, fifteen over as he attempted to get there a little quicker. [color=gray]"So, when I got adopted, my moms loved to bring Tally and I here. We'd come for a couple of days every summer and I don't know, it's one of those places that I just... really love. I've been wanting to show you forever because I know you're going to love it," He rambled on, removing one of his hands from the steering wheel (and unfortunately abruptly halting his drumming) to take her hand in his, [color=gray]"And I hope you're hungry- I baked bread fresh for the occasion."

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-family: verdana; font-size: 13px;"]She simply shook her head as he spoke, an uncontrollable grin smearing across her pale features when he took her hand. For once, she decided to let the music argument go. As much as she loved to go back and forth about whose music was better, Beverly was still too tired to continue. Besides, there was always plenty of opportunities to go after Ilijas' unusual taste in music. And, like him, she'd never admit that she enjoyed listening to his stupid folk music. It was something familiar; she'd turn on the playlist sometimes when he was away and she missed him.

Ten more minutes? She sighed, shifting once more in her seat. "Well, if I've lasted this long... What's another ten?" Leaning her head back against the headrest, she turned and stared at Ilijas, her grin not wavering once. For so long, Beverly had hated being in front of a camera. In their bedroom sat a little photo album of childhood photos, and in every one, she looked incredibly uncomfortable. It wasn't until Ilijas came around and made her his muse that she felt comfortable on camera.

"Do you guys ever go anymore? You and Talanah?" She knew that his relationship was Talanah had always been odd, even moreso now that they were living together and Tally hated her guts. Why, she wasn't quite sure, but she had mostly learned to live with it. "You know I'm always hungry."
