DANCING DOWN THE LADDER / luci - CELESTE G.M. - 07-30-2018 There were many things that were confusing the shaman in the Typhoon. From the lands itself being primarily connected to the sea, a force of nature over which she knew not how to hold sway to the mingled spirits and demons within the ranks that she was forced to not act upon. The former was perhaps a failing on her own part, what kind of a shaman and spiritcaller was she if she couldn't speak with a land simply because it was unfamiliar from the one that she knew before? [div style="text-align:center;width:55%;font-size:11pt;font-family:times new roman;padding-TOP: 3px;"]SO STILL THIS BROKEN MELODY AND HEREWITH SHOULDER THEEThe second one was more troubling. She wasn't exactly the most prolific of exorcists and her work usually worked with kinder spirits, providing blessings and protections and appeasing the gods. It still a key part of her duty to work with those spirits to cast the ones that meant others harm, the demons and sons and daughters of Erlik that brought plagues, famines and the hatred in the hearts of the hunters. There were quite a few crewmates that she would have been expected to banish at home, and yet here she found herself looking at one of them as a figure of authority? Then again, she'd rather gouge out her eyes than take her commands from Caesar, not to be dramatic. Then there was the dragon. There was something,,, strange about him. Not necessarily evil, not necessarily good, but also not mortal. She puzzles over it, trying to work in her head. She can't even fully read him like she would a normal spirit, it's more of a gut feeling. Since she washed ashore, her skills have been muted, something that doesn't escape her grasp and something which still troubles her. But then again, she is an unfamiliar land. If her gods have chosen not to speak to her, and Umai refuses to grant her shaman her blessings, then who is she to complain and spite her mistress? That would be foolish. It still keeps her up until the weary hours of the night, watching the waves come in and out. She has a small candle lit on the shore, just far away enough so that it's not accidentally extinguished by the waves and tries to focus on grounding herself again. It's futile exercise, but she has nothing else to do on a bleak night with bleak thoughts. [member=232]LUCIFER GRIMM.[/member] - this is kinda rambly i'm so sorry idk where i was going LAST STEP ONLY LEAVING AN EMPTY HEARTH DOWN BY THE SEA Re: DANCING DOWN THE LADDER / luci - Luciferr - 08-01-2018

LUCIFERUS GRIMM Lucifer had known many lands over such a very long life - but he'd admit that even if he called qite a few 'home' over times now and gone by, he did miss his city - with its eternal night offset by the light of a distant white star and its towers of beautiful obsidian awash with the tiny pinprick glows of all its denizens, the artful architecture and the expanse of soft clouds bathed in that soft white light that lit up the hushed black skies - the way the world spoke to him and bent to his shape - no there was nothing quite like his dominion or that of his mothers once grand splendour and empire. it hurt to know he might never see any of it again - but it did not stop him from appreciating the land he found himself in, even if this form so dampened his ability to feel the spirits and know the flow of stars wheeling above or the notes of music that each held in their own quiet symphony of life - a chord unique to each. Lucifer was well aware he was or would be considered just on who he was, a creature of evil - and in truth couldn't fault that assumption, his sire was a monster after all and whether forced or not, he had done terrible terrible deeds. but that was always the case no? people saw only the black scales or cold aura - or those that knew saw the red scar and knew him a creature born of the very thing anathema to all life, really what chance was there? and he didn't have the heart to disapprove most of those notions, not anymore, he was too tired - he'd given his life to save even the most ungrateful in the end, maybe that would speak louder than everything else, but he held not the faint hope, he might be something of a pessimist in that regard - still though did he love the mortals, they lived so fiercely for so short a time, how could he not be fond of 'mere shadows on the breeze'? 'ancient shadow' they called him - something more auspicious than 'ascendant darkness' or simply 'the dark god' but he found he liked the title, there was something comforting about the lack of malice in it and the simple mystique - how unassuming it might be - and it was a namesake with truth, he was ancient - far older than the world he now stood on for one - and he was darkness - a shadow in truth. it wasn't the reason he was so often awake when other were not despite his affinity for the night - no that was simply a lesser need of sleep, and also to escape what might come creeping from his subconscious once again - he did not wish to relieve the pain - so it was he caught the sight of a flickering flame below him on this nightly patrol and quietly descended, breaking away from maudlin thoughts to behold Temulin once he neared, she was an oddity in sort - he'd not had much encounters with her, a strange sense that she might be avoiding him not that she would be the first, but her demeanour belied things - after all she'd once sought protection behind him when a rather angry raptor got upset. he landed quietly on the soft midnight glow sands, padding quietly closer and dipping his head lower as to appear less a confrontational threat to the much smaller crewmate. "Evening Temulin, I was unaware anyone else was awake" /s'fine mate oof, you made me ramble too |D

Re: DANCING DOWN THE LADDER / luci - CELESTE G.M. - 08-02-2018 [div style="text-align:justify;width:55%;font-size:8pt;font-family:verdana;border-bottom: 1px white solid;padding-BOTTOM: 3px;"]( actual footage of us ) [b]"Ah, I was unaware that anyone else was up myself." She replies, blowing the candle with a quick puff of breath to leave the pair illuminated by the moonlight and the stars above. Considering it's purpose, it would be wrong to leave the candle to burn during a conversation between the two. After all, there was no point disrepecting the gods in any way, no matter whether the offence was intended or not. She is glad that she doesn't have to crane her neck up to try and look him in the eye. Or rather, she looks at the rest of his face, the scarring and she winces slightly. The red markings look... She can't imagine having to walk around with those scars herself, but she tries to remove the sympathy as quick as she can. Hunters hated sympathy - they would rather remove their own limbs than think someone was pitying for what happened in battle. Temulin would imagine that Lucifer was cut from the same cloth rather, with the uneasy feeling that she felt around him. Cold. Cold, but not the comforting cold of a winter's morning when it's beginning to snow lightly. The cold felt around unnatural things, spirits. A cold that chills the bones and sets her on edge. Most of the time she ignores it, but she allows herself to shiver in the dark. Hopefully, the dragon's eyesight isn't wonderful in the dark, she would rather not be offensive to a crewmate if she can avoid it. [b]"...Forgive me for asking, but you are not mortal, are you?" She asks, taking a deep breath afterwards. She hasn't dealt with something like him before, but the aura feels familiar. It is one of the things she was taught to look for when she was cleansing and banishing. Re: DANCING DOWN THE LADDER / luci - Luciferr - 08-11-2018

"The endless Void, The gazing abyss, The bottomless ocean of horror... It coiled itself around your tender heart." /True that cx Lucifer merely inclined his head "I'm often awake - though usually patrolling" he tossed his head motioning to the skies above "Best to have one sentinel at least" one that was reliably always more or less awake - there were benefits to being not of the mortal realm, though he did miss the ability to sleep sometimes - but he would not dare risk thrashing and waking his fellows with his own troubles. he noted her staring - and the wince - but he hid any notion that he'd noticed, maybe it did bother him or maybe it did not - the least he knew and comforted himself with, was the fact that no one saw the hideous mar and immediately condemned him in these lands. he knows his aura is a frigid thing - but he cannot help half the blood in his veins, the void has never been a warm thing - he looks back from his brief contemplation of the sand between his claws and tilted his head, moonlight reflecting and seemingly absorbed by his very scales and he shuffled his wings lightly. "...No, I'm not" he agrees, blinking the singular eye that allows the motion slowly "curious of my nature are yu?" theres no malice in the words just a slight idle caution - many have asked this before when they've suspected, and many have not taken kindly to it - he isn't sure what way Temulin will follow.

Re: DANCING DOWN THE LADDER / luci - CELESTE G.M. - 08-14-2018 PULL ME BACK FROM THINGS DIVINE "If it something you don't want to discuss, I won't pry any further." She replies in a rush to get the words, fearing she's caused any offence. She knows the guarded tone well, one that firmly states that she stop her inquiries now and turn the topic to different things. The tone that the Elders would take when she asked the wrong questions, the wrong actions and she would rather avoid being the cause for that tone in Lucifer. After all she has no qualms with him, she's just curious."I... I should explain. My duties as a shaman invariably involved working with spirits and the Gods. You are neither -or at least you are nothing that I recognise... I am merely curious. I mean you no harm, although I doubt that I could cause you any." It's true that if she were someone provoked to violence easily, she would still stand no chance against a dragon. There's something about Lucifer that would deter her even if he wasn't a dragon, perhaps it was her self preservation kicking in. It didn't kick in all that often, granted, but it was still warning her that there something... Off about her crewmate. |
