Sunshine Days // Open - Henna - Quill - 07-26-2018

Art was important; not just for Annie, but in general. Art allowed people to express themselves, and give meaning without words. Art came in many forms; singing, painting, drawing, dancing, even the way in which one decided to arrange their bookshelf or their coffee that morning. It said a lot about a person to express themselves in some manner, even if it was not readily apparent to anyone else who saw it. Perhaps the symbol of a bird reminded someone to let go of the things that troubled them and to soar beyond expectations. Perhaps the roots of a tree reminded someone to stay grounded and focused, especially when times got hard. Everything had a meaning, and even meanings could change their impact on someone.

It's sort of why Annie liked drawing, and art. Typically, she drew on herself with paints, or more recently henna, since wasting canvases on art that may not appeal to her a few days later seemed... well, wasteful. That, and she wasn't sure if any of her art pieces were even worth hanging, even if her mother might disagree. In any case, she was armed with her henna kit today as she sat out in a lovely small meadow in the Morgan Heights area. She had set up a picnic blanket and some pillows, and the box of henna sat nearby. Judging by the many drying lines of paint-like designs trailing around her arms and her legs, she had been here a while, and was running out of 'canvas'.

Her gaze turned outwards into the courtyard, sizing up anyone she could see with a small tilt of her head. Oh heck, why not? "Anybody want some Henna? It's like temporary tattoos, but so much better!"
