Willowgrove

Introduction

Willowgrove is an entirely peaceful group. The group's philosophy is the pen is greater than the sword. They spend most of their time training in different literatures, sciences and arts rather than how to fight and war tactics. While fighting is not discouraged, it is not popular. The Willowgrove decided that after the ennitial nuclear fallout that separeaed the clans was damage enough, and that they needed to spend their time learning how to adapt and evolve over worrying about territory and borders. They beleived in letting go of past hardships and disputes, opening their borders for anyone willing to learn.

History

With the end of the nuclear fallout and war for resources and land ready to start at the drop of a hat, two friends arranged a small band of pacifist and escaped into the forests. They traveled and traveled until they found an abandoned rural town, taken over and conquered by plants. A quick survey of the area revealed that many of the land’s mechanics (such as doors and window hinges) still worked. There was shelter and prey was plentiful. The girl, named Pixel Luane, took a high stand, smiling brightly and exclaiming that they have found home. After settling, the small band of pacifists worked on recovering buildings like residential homes, the local library, and a small local musume. Even though most of the town is consumed by vines and other invasive species, they live fairly peacefully, hidden by the canopies above.

Territory

The library is the main meeting place, and the largest out of all the decaying buildings. It’s packed wall-to-wall with old paper books, tomes, and journals overflowing with words and diagrams of various subjects and topics. It has rows upon rows of shelves on two large floors and a storage room in the basement. The rooms are dark, as most of the windows are covered in vines and mosses.

The Grove is surrounded by a small stream and hidden by thick tree branches and bushes. There are hidden entrances both in and out of the secret place, though from the outside eye it would be invisible. The native species of plants are very tough and hardy, being there to stay. Various vines, bushes, and flowers have thick spines and burrs that give the grove a strong natural defense. There is one singular stone bridge into the town, though it is old and erroded and fairly unsafe to walk across.

Common prey - geese, deer, rats, woodpeckers, lots of birds and probably some armadillos (common predators are black bears, raccoons mostly non-venomous snakes, and foxes)

Rules

- All Bearbones rules apply.
- Students are expected to pick a specialization becoming a student to study under.
- Respect your highers. They know what’s good for you, despite the fact they sounded like they are nagging you.
- No fighting! Your mother would be so disappointed in you! All IC fighting has must be reported (unless already plotted) and will have consequences.
- If anyone is found at the border injured, they are to be brought in for treatment immediately.
- Respect the library. Books and literature are a powerful, ageless resource if treated with respect and care.
- Any purposefully ruining of books will be looked into by the HP’s
- Sorry outside joiners, borders are not a thing in this grove. If you find someone from outside of the grove, unless they are attacking or breaking any of the “guest rules”, you cannot kick them out. That’s not very nice, now is it?

Guest Rules:
- Be on your best behavior! This isn’t your home and we’re letting you in as a privilege.
- Disregard all outside relationships. I don’t care if that guy across the hall is your worst enemy, start anything and face the consequences.
- You are allowed to visit our libraries and exhibits ONLY with a Willowgrove tour guide. I’m sure there are plenty to walk you around. It’s not that we don’t trust you, but we don’t trust you.
- OOC: Feel free to use anything you’ve learned from our libraries to fuel plots IC. Just RP it out so we know what's up. You never know if someone will show up saying “I know what you showed Fluffybutt! How could you!?” We’d be… so confused.

Generalist [HP] - A truly smart cookie. The leader of the group. A jack of all trades and helps lead the three factions of the facility. They can do basically anything, ranging from making meetings to giving promotions and demotions to planning and accepting events. (1/1)

Head of Branches [HP]  - The leader of the three branches that the grove has to offer. They are expected to lead their own branch and be a commander of studies throughout the grove. While there are currently three official branches of study, vote and petitions within the Grove can pass to create new branches. See Rules for more info. They can host branch meetings and accept and plan events.

Their job is to keep everyone healthy and on their feet. They are allowed to study any branch of medicine they want. Neurology, Allergists, Dermatologists, it is up to the Doctor. (0/99+)

Literarian [sHP] - (equivalent to Doctors and Scientists) Under the Head Literarian’ command, the Literarians are known for studying everything that has to do with literature and poetry. They are known for spending most of their time in the libraries and art exhibits around the grove. Don’t even try to speak to them about poetry to them, or they will prove your theory on Edgar Allen Poe’s The Raven wrong. (0/99+)

Scientists: [sHP] - (equivalent to Doctors and Literarians) Under the Head Scientist's command, the Scientists are known for studying anything that has to do with the world and universe. They love things like biology, physics, chemistry and other various sciences. Characters can study any branch/subject of sciecne they want. (0/99+)

Students - Slightly older than a child. Students are dipping their toes into all branches of study, deciding where they want to stay during their time in the Grove. They will grow up to be a very smart cookie. (0/99+)

Children - A cute little fuzzball. Kids don’t have any responsibility, though they are just so cute that you want to make them join your branch to see them more often, right??



Titles:
Archaeologist - This fella likes to get their paws dirty! This title is awarded to those that are energetic and willing to take risks and make mistakes during their studies.

Philosopher - This fella is very cautious! Not that its a bad thing, of course. This title is awarded to those who take a step back and think about their actions. It is awarded to those that can weigh pros and cons in a quick and mannerly time; a skill that is hard to master.

Martial Artist - This fella can throw a punch! This title is awarded to those who have trained in fighting. While it is not a requirement in the Grove, it is still nice to know how to defend yourself, and should be rewarded.

Early Bloomer - Wow what a smart fella! This title is awarded to those who have excelled above and beyond their expectations as a student, taking their training to the next level.

FAQ

Why peace? Aren't darker more negative plots better??
Well, yeah. While they can be, we want to have a place that you can avoid that, just incase you want to. Most people lean towards negative development plots to make their character more interesting, but we feel you can be just as developed with positive development. Even then, Willowgrove does not discourage negative development. We encourage it, actually!

Can I play any animal?
Uhhh, hadoy!! You wanna play a flamingo with horns? Approved! Tiger with dove wings and a dragon tail? Awesome!  Frog with buffalo feet and dragonfly wings? Tell me more! As long as it follows Bearbones rules, you can play any character your little heart desires.

Can I play an HP?
Sure! … Well. Not right away. HP’s are earned by being present, interacting with groupmates, and innovation. HP’s are NOT earned by activity alone here. While they can be earned with just activity, we will look at people contributing to the grove more than those simply strolling along. We want the grove to constantly be changing and evolving to the members its consisted of, not floating in a void.

What's the Grove's religion?
We don't have a set religion! Your character is allowed to study and religion they want. We're not picky. As long as it does not bring harm to another member, it's fair game.

Can I have people outside of the Grove make a thread here?
Of course! As you read above, Willowgrove has open borders. That means that we’re open to other groups in here as well. Think of it as visiting another town. Just put which group you are apart of in the title of your thread and follow our IC rules!
