YOUR FEELINGS CHANGE LIKE THE WEATHER ;; weekly task! - goodsprings - 07-25-2018 CAPTAINPAW ✯ — YOUNG LOVERS AND THEY ARE NOT SLEEPING

the jungle was a place cap had always set as a personal boundary, literally. he didn't like going too far into it, the dark and damp atmosphere bringing back emotions from a time he could not remember. memories that had been pushed far into the corers of his mind, but the feeling of those times always crept up on him whenever he neared the edges of the treeline.
it seemed today he would have to break that boundary for his weekly task. captainpaw knew his work would need to be more important, and if they wanted him to do this as his task, then he would need to put on a brave face and set on. he had only wished that he was a bit more grown before facing it. luckily, though, it wasn't a task for him alone. rosemary had said to look for traps around the temple, and he would need an explore team for that of course. the young tom had called for a gathering, sending word to the tavern, the other islands, anywhere that the npc messengers had volunteered to go and bring company for his journey. "anyone who has decided to join me on my exploration of the temple, we are leaving in five minutes!" he declared with a sharp flick of his tail. his paws were shaky, and he pushed them underneath the sand to hide it from anyone who came closer to him. his chest was pounding with a racing heart, and he tried to keep himself calm. e didn't want to pass out right before they left; that'd be plain embarrassing! space
Re: YOUR FEELINGS CHANGE LIKE THE WEATHER ;; weekly task! - Verdigris - 07-25-2018 [font=trebuchet ms]Paper only had one personal boundary in terms of the island's geography; with the exception of the blood division ceremony, he refused to go on Haven Island. Thankfully no one had ever asked him to outside of the ceremony, but he tried to give even the bridge a wide berth whenever he could. Even without the jungle juice, the place reminded him too much of the night his memories had resurfaced, forcing him, even just for a few hours, to face the truth about himself. Everything else on the island was fair game, though one downside- or upside, depending on your point of view- of not being in the Necro Mambas was that you rarely had reason to go into the jungle temple. As such, Paper hadn't even known that the temple had traps, though now that he did know, he was curious to see what they were. Approaching Cap, he said, "I'll come along." rinto was next to approach. rinto himself had no boundaries- he was willing to go anywhere, as he had little value on his own life. that was the cost of low self-esteem- he lived for one person, and thus he himself had no meaning. why had this obsession taken him over like this? why couldn't he live without the constant approval of the one he loved the most? rinto didn't want to keep thinking about it, and so he distracted himself, and he came alongside paper. "ah, if you guys need some more help, i'll come along!" he cheered, faking a smile onto his face, closing his eyes for a brief moment. "as long as it's not too scary," he added, quieter this time as he reopened his eyes, looking straight ahead. Re: YOUR FEELINGS CHANGE LIKE THE WEATHER ;; weekly task! - VANDAL R. - 07-26-2018 "Me, Vandal Roux, not coming? Never gonna happen!" Vandal's voice rings out from somewhere above them. It takes only three second before her form appears from the South, stopping until she's right on top of the gathered Typhooners (yeah, she figures that's what they're called - if she's wrong, she isn't inclined to change it anyway). With an impish smile, she quickly folds her wings and lets herself plummet several feet towards the ground, only to pull up at the last second and ricochet to the side, spiraling down to the ground. Is she showing off? Yes... but everybody already knows she likes to. "If you lot are goin' to the temple, you should'a already expected me to come with," she points out with a shake of her head, tucking her wings back to her sides. An exploration? He was really active, wasn't he? Cronas didn't mind though. As long as they learned something new and-or useful they didn't have any complaints. The young feline already deemed the calico useful and decided they could tag long. Though, most of their participation was because they don't visit the temple often and saw an opportunity to do so. Captainpaw and the others being with them is just coincidence. Rising to their paws, Cronas followed after Vandal and stopped beside her. "Cronas will join too." They meowed bluntly with a nod of their head. the gradual growth of everyone coming along had brought much more comfort than he had expected. he knew rinto, not papercutter but male was protection nonetheless. his heart practically leapt seeing vandal and cronas add themselves to the group as well, and his worries and fear dwindled slightly. this was good enough, cap decided. too many and they would be more likely to set off traps than discover them.
he ambled toward vandal, pressing his side into her leg before moving to cronas and press his nose to their's, a smile on his maw before returning to the front. "alright folks, i've never been in the jungle before uhm, past my treehouse so just tell me if i'm going the wrong way, okay?" this was his weekly task after all, he shouldn't put all the responsibility on the others to lead him. with that, the calico turned on his heel and began marching on ahead, adding in the sound effects of mimicked trumpet sounds to distract him from the fact that each step he took the less he could see of the sky. space
