MONA LISA -- open, joining - london r. - 03-25-2018

The sight of powdery white did not deter the black spotted feline as she approached. In fact it was achingly familiar, a reminder of a better time. But, this would mark a new passage of her story. This place full of promise and hope would shine a warm light down upon her. An even better time. The best. A place to make friends, fall in love, and discover new parts of herself. The old, run down gas station would be incomparable to the magnificence of this tundra. Now all she needed to do was be greeted by the tribe that lived here, and become one of their members.

Clans and tribes were a new thing to London. She'd never heard of them before. They were like cities she supposed, though without humans polluting the environment with their toxins. And smaller too? Yes, there was no need for such wide paths, and all those miscellaneous buildings. And hopefully they'd have better food than that found in trash cans. But it really didn't matter too much how wonderful all these things were. London would just be happy to find a new place to call home, no matter how disgusting it might possibly be. As long as she believed that this might be the place for her, it would be. The possibilities here were endless.

In this place, the clouded leopard could see the stars. It would be a wonderful place to start using that telescope and learning about constellations. She had been attempting to get into astrology at the last town she'd stayed in, but the bright streetlights had been little help. At least the book store had been far less disappointing. And this would be a great place to strum some chords on her ukulele come later this Spring, when the weather became more moderate. "Um, hello?" the girl would call out, her British accented voice docile. She tried to hide her increasing levels of nervousness, something rather easy to do as the landscape easily attracted her curious eyes, but the albino was soft by nature. Moments such as these were always stressful to some extent, but maybe by some miracle this would be the last time she'd have to go through this process.

KILLUA
.
Killua didn't patrol the borders for the sake of the groups that he was staying with. He considered that would be a huge waste of his time as he didn't really consider himself to be the type to really get into clan affairs. He did what he wanted and there was anyone around to try and stop him if they didn't like what he did. So far, there weren't any sort of complaints when it came to his choice of words when it came to regarding others. Not like he would change if they started to complain about it. It would certainly be interesting to see their reaction toward when he started to defy what they wanted and potentially what they stood up for. There were no interactions with the other groups that lived in the area, and Killua certainly found that interesting because he knew there were other groups. He had done a little bit of research of the area, including the territory itself to figure out how everything was laid out and figure out if the group was hiding something in the outskirts of the clan. This didn't seem to be the case, but he had just been skimming the area and hadn't really been trying when it came to really digging for evidence. Why were the animals here so happy and carefree? He was so used for everyone being incredibly bitter all the time. Except for his adopted sister but that now felt like ages ago since the last time he had talked to her. Or if she was even alive. All he knew was that he was driving his families influence away from her, so she should be more than safe at the moment. He knew she had be. There would be no other answer that he would actually settle for at the moment. Over the span of his short life, Killua had seen almost and every type of environment that spanned across the world. Cities, abandoned cities, museums, caves, islands in the sky, marshland, plains. He has seen it all, at least in his mind. When he first arrived at the border himself not too long ago, he knew what most of the territory was going to end up looking like based on all the snow that seemed to be around all the time. It provided him with great camouflage that actually helped him while he was hunting instead of being stuck out like a sore thumb. Either way, Killua was the type of youngster that could grow bored incredibly quickly. Him being bored could leave someone in danger if he was bored for too long at least. The wildcat had to keep his mind busy before his mind reverted back to his usual bad habits that had been struggling to break all of this time. This was the primary reason he had stayed away from the groups that were primarily about killing. One was that they annoyed the hell out of him, and the other half was that he didn't want to be a killer anymore. Circusclown had taught him a lesson that everyone deserved to live to a certain extent because their lives were so short. Everyone just wanted to enjoy their life for as long as they could. That's all he had ever wanted in his life, but his overall possessive and his incredibly strong family didn't exactly want to give him any leg room when it came to what he wanted to do with the rest of his life. After all, he was nothing more than an object to them anyway. Hence being the reason why he had been trying to run away from his family so that he could find a life for himself. Which was easier said than done when he had little to no proper social skills. He could technically lie his entire way to try and get close to someone, but once he would give that creature they truth they would probably look at him like he was a monster. Was that what he was? A monster? The term felt bitter on his tongue. It made him sick to his stomach.

The assassin enjoyed being in elevated areas for many reason. It gave him a chance to look at the large expanse of the land even if it did take him a little while to climb if he wasn't using his powers. It also gave him a chance to look at the beauty of some landscapes. Despite being a killer he could appreciate the world in a couple of different ways here and there. He wasn't barbaric, he was just misinformed about how the world worked by his family. Did he expect to get pity from others for his tragic upbringing? Of course not. In fact, if anyone did that he would probably be pretty annoyed at the notion. He was as strong as he was now because of his family, and he would only appreciate them for physically building him up to be strong. Other than that though, he couldn't care less if they ended up getting themselves killed, especially his older brother. There was a chance that he might care if his father died as it meant he would become the head of the family whether it liked it or not. He would be somewhat disappointed if his grandfather died because the old man had been pretty nice through his entire upbringing and was down to earth compared to his mother or his oldest brother. The albino serval was still growing and still had just as much to learn like the rest of those that were his age. The former deputy was sitting in one of the pine trees, he had found a tall one in the middle of the forest and was using it to look off into the horizon to see if he could see any shapes in the distance. His eyes were good, yes, but they would never be as great compared to that of a raptor. Killua was fairly close to the border all things considered, but it wasn't like anyone would be able to see him in the snow crusted tree that easily. They couldn't catch his scent either thanks to his use of air elementals keeping it so that he didn't give off any scent. All of the powers he had could be used to make sure that no one would know he was ever there. He blinked his sapphire blue optics when he heard a soft tone not too far away from where he was at. From the sound, it was near the border, meaning that it was someone new. Instead of climbing down the tree, he instead leapt to the next tree that was adjacent to the one that he was on. No sound emitting from his movements thanks to his air elementals acting like a cushion for his steps at all times. After a couple of seconds, Killua found himself on a branch that was directly above the females head. A clouded leopard? He hasn't seen one of those for a while. His long metal claws glistened in the light that reflected off of the snow from above. Raising one of said paws, the assassin conjured up a lollipop that he quickly popped into his mouth. In a matter of seconds the smell of candy wafted through the air, which the clouded leopard would be able to smell. "You lost or something?" The bored voice of the apprentice finally rang out above the female in the trees. It wouldn't be hard to see him now. His eyes would be trained on her the entire time, in almost a predatory way. He honestly didn't care why others approached this place as it was none of his business. Anyone could do whatever the hell they wanted, he wasn't going to judge them.

Re: MONA LISA -- open, joining - london r. - 03-28-2018

The clouded leopard had expected someone to find her already, or that she would find them, but it appeared as if no one was there. There was a scent of many creatures, but surely they couldn't all have spontaneously decided to take a nap? She became just the slightest bit unfocused, which made it rather startling to be stumbled upon without realizing it. London had believed she'd see whoever were to find her, or at least scent their approach, but it seemed as though neither of those two things would were to happen. The smell of candy hit her nostrils, but to the girl, it just seemed as though perhaps she had suddenly developed a craving for the sweet, sugary goodness. It wouldn't be the first time. But no, the scent was not a figment of her imagination, it was in fact quite real. Just like the not quite friendly tone of voice that met her startled ears, causing the girl's head to shoot up. And there he was, Killua. This stranger must be part of the clan/tribe thing she had come here to join what a relief!

It was strange how similar this guy appeared to be to her. The albinism, the startling blue eyes. Sure, he was a serval, and his pelt was as white as snow, quite unlike her spotted pattern. But still, they appeared to be somewhat similar, aside from these obvious disparities. He seemed quite unlike her though, personality-wise. "L-lost?" the girl would echo, trying to recover from the bewilderment of having someone watching her. How long had he been there anyway? Focus, London! "Oh, no, I don't believe so anyway. This is one of those new clans things right? I was actually looking to join. My name is London, it's lovely to meet you mister. Um, so are there any requirements to join? I'll try my best." the girl spoke, her British accent becoming rather obvious now that she had said more than just one word.

[shadow=darkblue,right]KILLUA[/shadow]
.
Killua knew that him being stealthy could be annoying to most creatures. It was barely something that Killua could even remotely control even if he tried to be as loud as possible. He had the teachings that his older brother had given in ingrained into his mind to the point that it would always be impossible for him to forgot the training that he had endured when he was just a kitten. The assasins had always needed to be stealthy because it was a means of protection and it was a huge asset to use against those that he didn't exactly trust. This usually put others on edge when they realized that hey would probably never hear him coming. Which was the point, if they had to constantly worry about where he was at all times, then it was just a sign that they weren't someone that would warm up to him all that quickly in the end. Which was fine with Killua, but he would honestly really take anyone right now that even remotely peeked his interest. How long could that possibly take? The population in this kind of area was certainly small as he heard several times over that these groups had just formed one another. Whether or not these groups would actually stay together was another issue. He didn't want to have to go through back to the other group of clans just yet. There was a chance that his family could end up having a headquarters there or have stationed his other brothers there to make sure that he didn't fall down the same path that he had been punished for going down. Killua didn't care about his family all that much, while they seemed to care about him a little bit too much for his liking. Killua also had to retain his stealthy nature if he ran into his family again. Depending on who he was going to come face to face with depended on whether or not his stealth would actually help him in that instance. If he was going against his oldest brother then his stealth would be completely useless and he would have to rely on his physical strength to try and get him out of the area as quick as possible. Using his speed definitely helped him get away from most of those that tried to catch him. It helped that he was the second fast land animal in the world, not needing any sort of power to get up to almost the speed of a cheetah. He had an issue when it came to his stamina and could only hold a state like that, which his older brother knew exactly what to do. Illumi would just exhaust him and Killua would be at the other's mercy, having no choice but just to accept the punishment that was dealt toward him. Something like this was extremely common though in the Zoldyck family, as they would much rather talk with their fangs and teeth than actually have an actual discussion. This doesn't mean that the entire family is barbaric and idiotic, instead, it was the complete opposite. They were incredibly smart and had brawns to back it up, which made them extremely lethal to go up against. Killua himself was more than capable of thinking up an entirely new strategy or setting up a trap for his enemy to fall into. He was a trickster, and he enjoyed every minute of most fights as long as he was winning. Killua did get laughs when he was around the clanners and was able to see the visible jump in their body when they realized that he was there. He was able to read body language quite easily, and it gave him satisfaction that he still had enough skill to at least take clanners off guard here and there. Either way, he didn't have to worry about any other groups at the moment, not considering them a threat due to the lack of animals that were in each group. This made him cocky and made him think that he could get away with everything.

Of course Killua noticed the similarity between the way he looked and the clouded leopard. Did that mean he felt any sort of connection toward her? Absolutely not. He had simply inherited the albinism that ran within his family, which his father and grandfather had. He was the only one that had ended up inheriting it out of the rest of his three brothers that came before him. The assassin guessed that was the reason they thought that he wanted to be the heir to the family business because of the way he looked. A ridiculous notion in his mind, but he wasn't about to argue with those that weren't willing to change their mind. Most could tell just by looking at him that he wasn't a regular clanner, or even a regular child for that matter. He remembered some victims saying that his eyes perceived an underworldly matter. The thought almost made him laugh because he didn't think that really made any sense. When someone thought of hell the thought of red. Not blue eyes staring back at them. Watching the other suddenly realize that she was finally being watched made a smirk spread across the male's jaws in satisfaction of taking the other off guard. The only factor that gave him away was, of course, the lollipop that he was eating, which was the point as he wasn't going to wait here for hours waiting for her to look up. That would be the opposite of what he really wanted to do. The albino serval listened to the female as he spoke. The female seemed to be the kind-hearted sort, meaning that she would probably fit in quite well in this place. Everyone always seemed to have smiles plastered on their face, which often just confused the hell out of him as to why they were all so damn happy and if they were hiding something. Raising one of his paws, he placed the lollipop stick in between his toes so that he could probably hold it and speak at the same time. "Well, you found the right place. This place is called Snowbound, kinda ironic name if you ask me." Killua would state again in another bored tone. As far as he figured out, nothing interesting had really caught his eye in this place. Except for the abundant amount of sweets this place constantly had at the ready and that there were plenty of animals that baked. Strange, but not unwelcome. "Not really any sort of requirements. You're basically free to walk over the border and say you're a member and you're good to go." Killua's tone almost sounded like he was complaining, which he kinda was. What he did like though was the way the other was addressing him. With respect. That was all the young apprentice really asked for when it came to meeting others. The albino serval would stick the lollipop back into his mouth, before getting up onto his paws and letting himself drop down from the branch that he was on, keeping his distance from the clouded leopard. Even if he was on the other side of the border of Snowbound, he certainly didn't smell like a member at all. "Name's Killua." The former deputy would introduce himself with a curt nod. Although, he seemed to feel slightly uncomfortable stating his name to a stranger. She seemed nice enough. But something in his gut was telling him to think twice. While he spoke as well, there was a small hint of his Japanese accent, but it was barely there. He enjoyed keeping it somewhat hidden so he wouldn't have to worry about others realizing he could speak another language. He kept mostly everyting secret to himself.

Re: MONA LISA -- open, joining - JERSEYBOY - 03-30-2018

[align=center][div style="borderwidth=0px; width: 55%; color: black; line-height:115%; text-align: justify;"]Snow was a familiar sight to the tuxedo feline. It was cold, as per usual, but it was nothing that he couldn't handle. After growing up in a region plagued by winter storms and harsh blizzard-like conditions, the numbness of his pads were pretty much a normal sensation by now. He trudged through the icy ground, wondering why the hell was he even out right now. Jerseyboy was a bit of a night owl, but wandering through the snow just wasn't worth it. He pricked his ears, having overheard someone, and as he neared the border he realized that it was a newcomer. From what he could see in the dim lighting, it was some sort of "small-big cat" with light-colored fur and striking eyes. She looked youthful, perhaps too youthful for his personal tastes. Hm.

"A lil' risky walkin' out here in the dark, now ain't it?" The tom started, suddenly appearing in the open. He rested his olivine gaze onto the clouded leopard before adding, "And yeah, you can join- if you think you can handle it, Dollface." She had said that the whole clan scene was new to her, correct? To be fair, so was he, but he had street-smarts. This girl sounded like she escaped some posh mansion of sorts and was trying to navigate the wilderness. He blinked and said, "Name's Jerseyboy, don't wear it out."

Re: MONA LISA -- open, joining - london r. - 03-31-2018

Snowbound, so that was what this place was called, it was quite lovely. And ironic according to Killua, but her own name was pretty ironic as well. The response she had received was rather positive, although a bit alarming. "Alright, thank you."
the girl would say, hiding her misgivings. Just anyone could join this place, which was a good thing for her, but there were some real weirdos out there. Not that she had ever met any, but she had heard stories. Perhaps it was best not to dwell too much on stories though, who knew how much of them was actually true? Most of them had seemed pretty exaggerated, but she could not be the judge of that, after all, the girl had lived a sheltered life. Hopefully this place would not ruin her.

As the boy before her stated his own name, the girl's smile would grow the slightest. "That's a lovely name, mister Killua." She had never had any friends, so the girl wouldn't know for sure, but compliments were nice, right? She wouldn't complain if anyone told her that her name was nice, though she was named after a city, so it wasn't really all that creative or impressive. But Killua had a nice flow to it, it was pretty, unique too.

As the next stranger came to greet her, London couldn't help but feel puzzled by his words. Her timing hadn't been the best it seemed, as a blanket of stars lay across the night sky but she hadn't wanted to be on her own in an unknown region during the night, this was safer. Right? And why shouldn't she be able to handle clan life? Was it more dangerous than living on her own might be, it didn't seem like it to her. Strength in numbers was a pretty well known saying, especially if she knew it, surely it held some merit. "I think I'll be alright, thank you for your concern." And what did he mean with Dollface? Was there something wrong with her face or was that a compliment? His words were so strange, did all the locals speak the same way? Killua didn't seem to, she could understand him perfectly fine, but this Jerseyboy was messing with her head. "It's lovely to meet you, sir."

[shadow=darkblue,right]KILLUA[/shadow]
.
Social interactions usually became increasingly difficult for the wildcat. There were some instances where it was easier to interact with those that were around him. After all, he just had to lie about what he was currently feeling at the time and there wouldn't be a huge deal to really worry about it. He just had to make sure that others were mostly on his side and nothing else. It wasn't exactly difficult to do when others were easily manipulated. If he really wanted to he could use his mental powers that he had under lockdown to make sure that others wouldn't feel afraid of him and manipulate their emotions a little bit. Almost as if he was someone that was luring his prey to be killed, which was a lot harder said to be done with those were more paranoid about those they ended up meeting. Killua knows the way that the clan mind works nowadays after all. The assassin had been through the ropes several times, done studies by keeping his distance from others and figured out why they interacted with each other the way that they did. It was confusing to Killua at first until he actually ended up having a fight with his mentor, and after that, he was able to understand why clanners were so trusting of one another. There was power when it came to living in numbers compared to living alone. They had no choice but to deal with each other if they were going to go up against a group that was larger than their own. Numbers meant a lot to the clan, and if they had someone that was going to be willing to join the place, then they would try everything in their power to make sure that happened. They had to have trust in one another, or they would probably end up losing their minds in some shape or form because none of them enjoyed the idea of actually being alone for once. This could also mean that the enemies could use this against them by simply sending in a spy to deal with them. The assassin had that role once, and it was extremely easy for him to gather information if he decided that he wanted to join the place. Either way, social interactions became somewhat easier for the Zoldyck, as he was getting a better understanding of what he should say and when not to say them. He hadn't called any older lady a hag or an older male an old man yet either. So he considered that to be a pretty good start. At least in his mind for the time being as he was going to have to take one step at a time if he was going to actually become a kid like he wanted to be instead of a kill like his family really wanted him to. Now that he was on the ground, he was ready to listen to anything that could be approaching his way. Sure she could be nice, but she could easily have a facade that she was using to try and make him comfortable around her. Even if she was young from the looks of it, but that's where most made their mistakes. Killua was young himself and had killed plenty over his short lifetime. The assassin was lethal and others probably just looked at him thinking that he was all bark and no bite. His large ears swiveled on his head when he heard pawsteps coming toward the group. The sound of crunching snow immediately giving the other away of where his location was at. He hadn't had a chance to memorize the actions of others, such as the sounds they made when they breathed or the specific way an animal could walk.

Killua didn't turn his head to acknowledge the other member when Jersey padded up. When the other spoke though, the serval's nose curled up in distaste at the other's language. It made his skin crawl for some reason, and the other was even more annoying than he could be, but half the time he was just messing around with others. Killua would let a low huff escape his jaws as he kept his distance from Jersey, just like everyone else. "I swear every time you speak it makes anyone wanna vomit." Killua said with a calm tone, not really caring how the other would react to what he said. The other didn't react to the insult when a canine in the group had hosted an event where they decorated cupcakes or whatever and he had attempted to flirt with her. The guy would have better luck flirting with a rock. Killua's attention went back toward London though, and he seemed to be surprised by the other's compliment. He seemed to be shocked that someone would even say something like that. Compliments were never given to Killua, unless it was by his adopted sister but even then. A random stranger saying that he liked his name? Did she even know what his name meant? His name literally had 'Kill' in it, which others wouldn't consider all that original, let alone lovely. His name had nothing but bodies attached to it. Killua opened his jaws to almost mock the other that she wasn't able to realize what his name honestly meant, but was quick to shut his mouth. Raising one of his paws, he rubbed the back of his neck, almost in an embarrassed manner. "Arrigato." Killua would state in a low voice, barely making it audible. When had been the last time he had even spoken in Japanese? It had certainly been a while at least in his books. He did notice the way the other seemed to be confused with how Jersey was acting toward her. The embarrassment soon ebbed away as he shifted his paws soundlessly in the snow. "Don't worry not everyone is like him. Camp is that way too." Killua stated as he moved his body so that he was looking in the direction that London was looking and pointed in the specific direction that camp was in. He had no intention of leading her there, as he would probably find something else to do in the meantime.
