[div style="text-align: justify;"]Everything had been so... strange after he left the Typhoon. It had been hard for him to leave, especially after the Captain had given him the tie he now wore around his neck- a symbol of the people he had left behind. Really, he shouldn't care as much as he did, but now, as he lay under a tree miles away from the island, he found himself thinking of them- and not his mission.

All he had ever known in his life so far after his bout of amnesia, was his mission. He was to infiltrate the animal groups of this region, collect info, study the natives. He wasn't supposed to make friends, and he certainly wasn't supposed to feel emotions- but in the course of 2 weeks, everything had changed, and now he couldn't stop thinking about them. It was then that he came to the conclusion- he was feeling heartbreak. Because to him, the Rouxes had become family. And what had he done? He had left them behind like the cold, unfeeling monster he was. Tears pricked at the corners of Connor's eyes as he stood up, head turning to look back in the direction of the Typhoon. Fuck his mission... he couldn't do it anymore. His mission didn't matter. He wouldn't do it, he wouldn't continue on. Connor wanted to go back.

Of course, there was still apart of him that told him to obey, screaming at him to keep going, but ignored it, starting to head back. An invisible wall was what stopped him at first, but he did his best to push through it, claws slashing and paws thrashing as he fought back and forth with himself. Moments ticked by, but eventually, he made it.

He was deviant.

For once, that wasn't such a bad thing.

Now that he was free, the tabby would break into a full blown sprint, pushing through the undergrowth of the forest he had somehow found himself. He wasn't sure how long he had ran for, or what distance he had covered but eventually, he was making his way over the submerged railroad tracks, slowing his pace down to a trot. Then, finally, he had made it back to the railroad gate, stopping before the arch to catch his breath. Once he had done that, he would furiously ring the bell a few times before calling out to anyone nearby. "Hello!? It's me, Connor! I've returned." A part of him feared they wouldn't forgive him for leaving- what if they were angry with him? What if they wanted nothing to do with him after what he had done? Perhaps they were irrational fears but... he just hoped they would take him back.

[align=center][div style="borderwidth=0px; text-align: justify; width: 550px; padding-bottom: 17px; overflow: stretch; border-bottom: 2px dashed;"]"Returned?"

The dark brown lupine stepped from behind the wall, stepping towards Connor gracefully. She'd heard the ringing bells, and feared it might be Swashbuckler once again, wildly playing the tune of the bell to stir the black mambas. Thankfully, though, it wasn't, though she still worried about what that kid was getting up to right about now. She focused her attention now on the feline, giving the grey tabby and slight nod and an appreciative smile. "Welcome back, Connor." Rochelle murmured gently to him, her posture settled but tight, elegantly looking back towards Connor.

She didn't think she would ever return to someplace after she'd left it. Definitely not her original home, of all places. She knew she was unwanted there from the beginning, and going back after she abandoned them? They would treat her like a traitor, kill her for the suffering her family caused them. She revoked the notion of violence ... but if she ever looked in the face of one of her people ever again ... she would rightfully wish to die. Blinking, she wiped the frown away that had settled on her face, looking up from her paws to say, "I'm Rochelle, I don't believe we've met."

Re: AS I SEE THEM / o, return - calypso - 07-18-2018

Calypso wasn't quite lacking her usual grace in the presence of Rochelle as she was aware of her own uneasiness increasing. The panter back in the Ruins-- Cal had never been close to her. She'd never had the time of day. But the mere presence of a name that existed in the mouths of those back home triggered a reaction in her, opened the minuscule floodgates of emotion in her head and she felt... Off.

Still, she happened upon the scene with her usual composure, glancing over the returner with curiosity. She let Rochelle speak before giving her own words, dipping her head. "I'm new here; I don't recognize you, but welcome back. I'm Calypso. It's a pleasure."

Re: AS I SEE THEM / o, return - Luca - 07-18-2018

Luca wasn't wandering around aimlessly, for once. Instead he was lounging in the shade, smoke leaking lazily from his mouth as he tried to escape the hot summer heat. It was the ring of the bell that caught his attention, causing him to lift his heavy head and turn it in the direction of the noise. He noticed a couple others heading towards it and sighed, pulling himself to his paws and tucking his wings close to his body before joining them at the gate. A grey tabby stood there, a returning member. None of the three present seemed to recognise him though. Luca's eyes fell on the light that stood out amongst Connor's fur, curiosity clear as day on his face.

He would have flirted if he had the energy, but all he gave the feline was a tiny nod, returning his gaze to the stranger's eyes. "Hey, I'm Luca. I joined like, a few days ago." Hopefully it wasn't too jarring being greeted by a bunch of newcomers. A small part of Luca wondered why Connor had left in the first place, but perhaps it wasn't any of his business. Luca knew he hated it when people got all up in his shit.

goldenluxury "goldie" roux — female — the typhoon — tags
goldie has lost friends before. she's said goodbye to crewmates and worried over others who simply disappeared without a word. she's missed others and felt sad over their absence. she made many friends, so it wasn't uncommon for some to come and go quite often. it was just a part of life. luckily, none of them have seemed to have undergone death. they simply, went away, which meant there was still a chance of seeing them again. she was quite used to the feeling.

still, she couldn't help but feel especially sad at connor's leave. she thought of the male quite highly and was disappointed to know that he must go. he had some mission to accomplish. it must be important to him if he was willing to leave everyone behind for it. she just hoped he would visit. she would like to see him more. he was a good friend, even if his time in the typhoon was short. she wouldn't try to stop him, though. if the mission was that important to him, then what could she say? nothing. she wasn't in place to tell him to stay.

but, life went on as normal, even after he had left. she supposed she was grateful he did say goodbye and didn't just disappear like so many others before. she still didn't know what had happened to her mama, even if she never knew the female all too well. she couldn't help but worry for someone she had held so close at a young age. but, connor didn't just disappear, and she appreciated that. he took the time to tell everyone that he was leaving. it made her feel better to know that he was going on his own terms, and they didn't seem too negative, either. she just hoped he'd be alright.

goldie was drawn to the gate quite often most days. many joiners came in, so she was sure to check by often. if she were in their shoes, she wouldn't want to wait too long to join, after all. they had to travel through the railroad tracks and it was a long journey. as she grew closer, she caught the glimpse of someone familiar. somebody she knew. somebody she was missing. that somebody, in fact, being connor.

the girl was hoping he would stop by every now and then, at least. however, she certainly was not expecting him to fully return. or at least, not this early. perhaps he finished his mission already. the injured female coughed a couple times, quickly stumbling over to the male, a bright smile upon her features. "connor, it's you!! connor!!" she called gleefully, her off-balance stance bouncy. all this movement caused a bit more pain and dizziness, though, so she'd stop. her tail still waved back and forth, though.

she glanced to everyone, a grin upon her injured features. "connor's great, everybody!!" she declared happily, nodding. they all three were newer crewmates, so she figured it'd be nice to tell them she did indeed know him and was happy to see him. she turned her attention back to him, though. "connor, does this mean ya finished your mission? you did it so quick! good job!"

Re: AS I SEE THEM / o, return - PINCHER - 07-19-2018

CAPTAIN PINCHER ROUX | resides in the typhoon and is the demigod of rough seas. he is a muscular dark gray jaguar with frigid glacier blue eyes, marked with scars and glowing tattoos. he is the head of the roux family and is currently engaged. he is known for being a charming strategist with dark secrets. be cautious around him. —— ⚓
❝ A TAINTED MAN WITH A TAINTED HEART THAT GOD DIDN'T WANT NO PART ❞
Pincher's lifetime was filled with the situations where he had say goodbye too many times. Goodbye to friends. Lovers. Enemies. There were so many times he had bid farewells to relationships that he had lost count of how many he had lost connection with and never seeing them again. It was something he had grown used to, a process that was like rinsing his paws for dinner without thinking much about it. It was practically a muscle reflex for him, shifting on and off without much thought. He didn't have a lot of close relationships in the Typhoon except his fiance and his children as well as his siblings but that was most likely his fault. He tended to distance himself from others, fearing that if he got too close, he would grow overly attached and when they would leave, it would lead to heartache. And he was tired of feeling it, tired of how it would make his body feel with the emotions that he tried so hard to keep under his control. You could only feel so much when it became a constant reminder that he was trapped in his immortality while everything else changed around him. But despite his attempt to not feel, to not allow himself to get close — Pincher was an idiot. He held an incredible strategist mind that was filled with multiple pathways he could go in but he was an idiot for allowing his emotions to get the best of him in many occasions. One of them had been when he had to say to Connor.

No one except Solveig knew about his first born sons. The ones that had been killed by cult members that sought out the blood of the youth. Donovan had been his serious son, the one that was intelligent and reserved with polite manners, controlling but patient. Theo had been the ray of sunshine in his life, a vibrant eager boy with the taste for adventure forever trapped in his heart despite the innocence that shielded him from the horrible truths of the Earth. Connor had been a hybrid of his sons' personalities and reminded him so much of them that he immediatly wanted to protect him no matter what as if he was family. But then Connor had to leave, to complete his mission. Stupid fucking mission. He despised whoever was telling Connor to go continue his objective because Pincher wanted him here in the island, to be a part of the crew as well as part of his family. But things didn't always went his way despite his desire for it to be just as he planned it to be. He had forced himself to bid the silver tabby farewell with a gift of an onyx black tie he believed suited Connor. It was something to remember the Captain by, a tie he had wanted to give to one of his sons if they had grown up. But they had never had the chance to.

After Connor had left, Pincher had forced himself to blind his sadness with work. He continued on, pushing himself into continuing his attempt to make the Typhoon better for everyone, mountains of paperwork and duties stacking up on his desk and on his shoulders. He was beginning to burn out from the constant stress and work as well as the duties that he had been forced into by the creatures of the water that demanded his attention during the night time. It was irksome and frankly, Pincher wanted to just run away from it all. But he had responsibilities and he wasn't going to back down even if his chest ached when he thought of Connor, hoping he was doing already wherever he was. For now, Pincher was simply was following after his daughter to make sure she didn't push herself too hard, his figure a little far since he was smoking and didn't want her to catch anything. The serious male glanced over towards the ocean as he watched the crystalline waves crash against the sandy shores, the noise always comforting to Pincher. He sucked in a small breath before hearing the bells ring which caused his jet black ears to prick, picking up the pace to see what was going on.

The ash gray jaguar spat out the rest of the cigarette onto the sand where it died as he reached the other crewmates who appeared to be surrounding someone. His intense electric blue eyes narrowed as the towering wildcat got close enough to spot the silver tabby, his eyes widening as he realized that it was Connor. "C-Connor?!" Pincher's usually steady voice seemed to catch in his throat in a breathy stutter as he halted beside Goldenluxury, his towering lean form tense with shock as the Captain parted his jaws to say something but nothing came out. He was back. He had decided to return to them. Joy washed over Pincher as a genuine smile began to lace his muzzle as he listened to Goldie question him but he remained standing a little far off before aiming one paw to grab the male and bring him in a tight embrace. Pincher usually never behaved this way but he felt relief and happiness to see his son again.
