ALEXANDER

Everything seemed so...big. Looming over him, even the most unassuming of things. He was lost, completely and utterly trapped in an unfamiliar area with no companions to call his own, no one give him even the slightest bit of security. It probably wouldn't have been so horrible if he was an adult, or at least experienced in the art of combat. But Alexander was still relatively young, still covered in his fuzzy pup fur, the lean muscles that were known among his species nonexistent. All in all, useless in defense. "Still a child."

He let out a small whine, tail wagging anxiously as he paced back and forth, the barrage of foreign sights and smells obscuring his sense of direction, everything seemed like the wrong way. It was possible he was going in circles, but he couldn't even tell that for sure. His fur fluffed up, making him look more like a dust bunny of doom than a threatened youngling.

MAKE ME QUEEN OR
I'LL MAKE YOU BLEED
[b]"Oh my, love... are you lost?"

The inquiry fell smoothly from the lips of Margaery Mikaelson as she approached Alexander, roses in various shades of red blooming in her wake. Concern danced across her features loudly, chocolate lips twisted into a frown as she quickly scoured the child for anything akin to an injury. After he passed that inspection, she made the decision to crouch down to better see him, forcing a gentleness onto her face in some attempt not to frighten him. Lost children were serious business and the Cosmic General sincerely hoped that he was not the result of some abandonment by his parents. She'd hunt them down and kill them if that were the case.

But that was just Genevieve talking, pushing the thought into her mind so easily. She ignored it for the most part, instead keeping her bright gaze upon the child. There would be no killing of anyone, not today at least. "I'm Margaery Mikaelson and you're in the Ascendants... where are your parents, parvulus?" She proceeded to ask, a brow rising, "Do you want to stay here?" She'd take care of him if that were the case. She was made to be a mother and acted accordingly because of that. Children extended to her a sort of happiness that she could not so easily find elsewhere, and she would admit: she loved seeing them content and thriving, free to grow up as they wished with as little burden as possible.

And the sky was littered
with the corpses of stars,

Again he had to ask the silent cosmos on why a child would be so left alone, what tragedy or cruelty had befallen this one? to end up so alone in unfamiliar territory.

Anzarel might have sighed but Margaery was already speaking comfort, the deity merely stayed quiet and glanced around - no, sill no sign of anyone else - he tried not to seem so large but to a pup, he was a veritable giant and likely to put the child ill at ease considering his often severe look.

still he shook his head glancing to Margaery - it was clear the pup was indeed alone.

Originally, Margaery's appearance would have made him nervous. Not quiet unsettled, as she had that image of grace and gentleness to put most of his fear at ease. But it wasn't just that which made him stop trying to cower into his own body, it was the path of roses she left behind in her approach. He was, to put it simply, fascinated. He hadn't seen such an ability before in his short life, let alone such breathtaking flowers. He gradually scooted over to get a better look, brown eyes glimmering with curiosity.

"Lost. Stuck." He managed to get out softly, the original fear trying to grasp him by the ankles at the jerk back to reality. He frowned at his inability to come up with a proper sentence, soft face scrunching up and wrinkling around his muzzle.

Anzarel was a different story. He was not soft and graceful, and upon placing his eyes upon them Alexander did get nervous. But they didn't seem angry, or otherwise dangerous. Just intimidating.

"Can't find them..." The ear droop was immediate, as if he was somehow ashamed to say that. He had lost their scent trail shortly before stumbling into the territory, and it was impossible to pick up now. He made an involuntary squeaking noise from within his throat, voice cracking ever so slightly with his confession.

SING, GODDESS, OF THE RAGE OF ACHILLES
"Well, I guess he's ours, then," Bastille commented lowly as he joined them, steps light and silent. His gaze flickered over the pup slowly, as if that could tell him anything, but he didn't carry any distinctive scent. Dryly, he reflected that at least all these lost kiddos seemed to be coming to the beacon of orphans. They had more found family than true family, here. He glanced towards Margy, as if assuming that she was going to snatch up this kid, and added, "We can get him settled in near you. And then we can look for... them."

He had no idea who "them" referred to, but assumed that was this kid's parents. Bast's gaze flickered back to the little thing as he greeted directly, voice still low, "Hey. I'm Bast. What's your name?"

Another lost kid in their territory? Gordon frowned as she followed behind Bastilleprisoner, looking at Alexander with concerned eyes. This one didn't seem to come from another group, unlike the little serval from Snowbound. "H-hey there." Gordon greeted, her tone gentle. "We'll take care of you." She reworded the way Bastille said that Alex was 'theirs now', since she'd be pretty spooked if some random stranger (despite Bast introducing himself) claimed her. "My-my name's Gordon."

He felt his heart rate speed up slightly with the new arrivals to the growing group of creatures, breath hitching in his throat when he inhaled too fast as an involuntary response. The sharp pain caused him to cough, rubbing his chest with a paw. Ouch.

"Alex...Alexander." He went to mumbling Gordon and Bast's name repeatedly, barely audible, more talking to himself than the others. He squinted, like he was trying to remember something faint. He looked like he had grasped something for a second before going back to the original confused expression. "I'm not in trouble for being here am I...?"

MAKE ME QUEEN OR
I'LL MAKE YOU BLEED
Margaery did indeed attempt to present herself as kind and gentle, graceful too. While she and her family came from a viking village nearly one thousand years ago, she had been shaped and molded into a lady by her father. He needed her to lull in his opponents, leading not-so-innocent lambs to the slaughter through means of his lovely daughter. She spoke carefully, acted carefully, and presented herself in a careful and considerate fashion, the perfect predator wrapped in a skin of silk. But to children, she was genuinely thoughtful and genuinely compassionate, she would no doubt care for Alex as if he were hers, no questions asked.

[b]"No, sweet boy, you're not in trouble," Margaery finally responded, dipping her head, "You can stay here with us, if you'd like. We'll take care of you." She was essentially affirming Bast's words, a brief glance being shot in his and the other's directions. They had a good bunch here for a scared child, that was for sure. "Are you hungry? Tired? Here, want to pick out a room?"

His relief at not being in trouble was practically tangible, and he released a small breath that he had been holding. He felt he could trust them, at least for the most part. They seemed nice. They hadn't attacked him after all, and it wasn't like they'd have anything to really fear.

"Little hungry..." He responded sheepishly, realizing he hadn't had much to eat since he'd been wandering around, probably scared potential meals off. "Room? I get my own?" His fluffy tail began to wag, his mood picking up ever so slightly. It wasn't the room so much that got his attention, it was having anything to himself. Safety. Maybe he could put nice stuff in it, like rocks!
